Biochemical Liver Functions and molecular Identification of Fasciola hepatica from Experimentally Infected Rat model

The current study was performed to evaluate the liver function status as well as molecular characterization of the recovered worms in rats experimentally infected with F. hepatica. Sixteen male Wister rats aged 30 days were randomly allocated into two groups (n = 8). The first group was infected orally with 15 viable encysted metacercaria of F. hepatica per animal. The other group was kept non-infected (control group). At zero time (before infection), the 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th, 12th and 14th weeks post-infection (WPI), blood and serum samples were collected via puncture of retro-orbital plexus of veins from each rat. Serum enzyme level (AST and ALT) and total protein were measured, and the serum protein profile was carried out using agarose gel electrophoresis. During the period of the experiment, serum ALT and AST activities and serum total globulins significantly increased while serum total proteins and albumin markedly decreased in the infected group. On the 14th WPI, the data of the electropherogram showed that globulin fractions (α1-, β- and γ-globulin) levels were significantly increased while α2-globulin was markedly decreased in the infected group. The molecular analysis confirmed the amplification of the ITS1, ITS2 and NDI genes of F. hepatica recovered from the infected liver of rats with amplicon sizes of 630, 510 and 560 bp, respectively. Sequencing of the amplified ITS gene resulted in the determination of 3 strains (PP108836, PP108837, and PP108838). Also, analysis of the ITS2 gene resulted in obtaining 3 isolates under the accession numbers (PP109065, PP109066, and PP109067). In conclusion, fasciolosis in the rat model is suitable for routine experimental infections and caused a pronounced liver dysfunction with discharging of the Fasciola eggs in the faeces and the development of adult stages in the bile ducts. Effect of Conductive Fillers on the Cyclic Stress-Strain and Nano-Scale Free Volume Properties of Silicone Rubber

The effect of carbon black （CB） and graphite （G） powders on the macroscopic and nano-scale free volume properties of silicone rubber based on poly（di-methylsiloxane）（PDmS） was studied through thermal and cyclic mechanical measurements, as well as with positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy （PALS）. The melting temperature of the composites （Tm） and the endothermic enthalpy of melting （ΔHm） were estimated by differential scanning calorimetry （DSC）. Tm and the degree of crystallinity （χc） of PDmS composites were found to decrease with increasing the CB content. This can be explained due to the increase in physical cross-linking which results in a decrease in the crystallite thickness. Besides, χc was found to be dependent on the filler type. Cyclic stress-strain behavior of PDmS loaded with different contents of filler has been studied. mullins ratio （Rm） was found to be dependent on the filler type and content. It was found that, Rm increases with increasing the filler content due to the increase in physical cross-linking which results in a decrease in the size of free volume, as observed through a decrease of the o-Ps lifetime τ3 measured by PALS. moreover, the hysteresis in PDmS-CB composites was more pronounced than in PDmS-G composites. Furthermore, a correlation was established between the free volume Vf and the mechanical properties of PDmS composites containing different fillers. A negative correlation was observed between Vf and Rm.

Synergistic inhibition effect of poly(ethylene glycol) and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide on corrosion of Zn and Zn-Ni alloys for alkaline batteries

The synergistic inhibition effect of poly(ethylene glycol)-400(PEG-400)and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide(CTmAB)on the corrosion of Zn and Zn-Ni alloys in 8 mol/L KOH solution saturated with Zn O was observed by potentiodynamic anodic/cathodic polarization(PDP),and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)*** electrochemical studies confirmed that there was a synergism between PEG-400 and CTmAB on corrosion inhibition of Zn and its *** inhibition efficiency of the mixed inhibitors,250 mg/L CTmAB+250 mg/L PEG-400,was found to be much higher than that of the single inhibitor,500 mg/L PEG-400 or 500 mg/L *** electron microscopic(SEm)investigations before and after the corrosion inhibition process emphasize the synergistic effect of the mixed ***,it was found that the addition of the investigated inhibitors to the alkaline solution enhanced the discharge and capacity of the alkaline battery *** obtained electrochemical data exhibited a good correlation with the computational one.

Influence of ECAP as grain refinement technique on microstructure evolution, mechanical properties and corrosion behavior of pure aluminum

Pure aluminum samples were processed by equal channel angular pressing（ECAP） up to 10 passes at room temperature. The effects of the ECAP number of passes on the microstructure evolution, the mechanical properties, deformation homogeneity and corrosion behavior of the processed samples were fully investigated. The imposed strain resulted in an obvious reduction in the grain size from 390 μm before ECAP down to 1.8, 0.4, and 0.3 μm after ECAP up to 2, 4 and 10 passes, respectively. The microhardness, deformation homogeneity and tensile strength were increased while the elongation decreased with the increase of ECAP number of passes. Immersion tests, open circuit potential, Tafel polarization, cyclic polarization and potentiostatic measurements in 3.5% Na Cl solution revealed an obvious improvement in the corrosion resistance of ECAP processed samples compared with the as-cast sample. The increase of the number of passes can be used successfully in producing ultra-fine grained（UFG） bulk pure aluminum sample with a high misorientation angle, reasonably high mechanical properties and corrosion resistance.

Radionuclides measurements and mineralogical studies on beach sands, East Rosetta Estuary, Egypt

Radiometric measurements were carried out for the beach sands from East Rosetta estuary to determine the activity concentrations of 238 U, 226 Ra, 232 Th, and 40 K, using a Hyper Pure Germanium spectrometer, to estimate the dose rates and radiation hazard indices. The average specific activities are 778.20 Bq/kg for 238 U; 646.89 Bq/kg for 226 Ra; 621.92 and 627.85 Bq/kg for the 222 Rn daughters 214 Pb and 214 Bi respectively. The average specific activity of 232 Th is 1510.25 Bq/kg, while the calculated specific activity for 40 K has an average of 8.41 Bq/kg. The average specific activity of 235 U is 38.61 Bq/kg. The average absorbed dose rate is 1211.36 nGy/h, 20 times higher than the estimated average global primordial radiation of 60 nGy/h and 6 times higher than that of the world range (10-200 nGy/h). The radium equivalent (Ra eq ) values are from 6 to 9 times the recommended value. The internal and external hazard indices (H int , H ex ) indicate that their values are from 6 to 11 times the permissible values of these indices. These higher values may be due to the presence of economic heavy minerals containing radionuclides as zircon and monazite as well as some trace minerals, thorite and uranothorite. The mineralogical study indicates the beach sands contain heavy minerals, zircon, monazite, rutile, ilmenite, leucoxene, magnetite and garnet. The average abundance of zircon is 0.175 wt% ranging from 0.125 wt% to 0.239 wt%, while it is 0.004wt% ranging from 0.001 wt% to 0.007 wt% for monazite. The average abundance is 0.087 wt% for rutile; 2.029 wt% for ilmenite; 1.084 wt% for magnetite; 0.384 wt% for leucoxene and 0.295 wt% for garnet.

In this paper,the non-stationary incompressible fluid flows governed by the Navier-Stokes equations are studied in a bounded *** study focuses on the time-fractional Navier-Stokes equations in the optimal control subject,where the control is distributed within the domain and the time-fractional derivative is proposed as Riemann-Liouville *** addition,the control object is to minimize the quadratic cost *** using the Lax-milgram lemma with the assistance of the fixed-point theorem,we demonstrate the existence and uniqueness of the weak solution to this ***,for a quadratic cost functional subject to the time-fractional Navier-Stokes equations,we prove the existence and uniqueness of optimal ***,via the variational inequality upon introducing the adjoint linearized system,some inequalities and identities are given to guarantee the first-order necessary optimality conditions.A direct consequence of the results obtained here is that when a→1,the obtained results are valid for the classical optimal control of systems governed by the Navier-Stokes equations.

This study focusses on the numerical investigations of boundary layer flow for magnetohydrodynamic(mHD)and a power-law nanofluid containing gyrotactic microorganisms on an exponentially stretching surface with zero nanoparticle mass flux and convective *** nonlinear system of the governing equations is transformed and solved by Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg *** impacts of the transverse magnetic field,bioconvection parameters,Lewis number,nanofluid parameters,Prandtl number and power-law index on the velocity,temperature,nanoparticle volume fraction,density of motile microorganism profiles is *** addition,the impacts of these parameters on local skin-friction coefficient,local Nusselt,local Sherwood numbers and local density number of the motile microorganisms are *** results reveal that the power law index is considered an important factor in this *** to neglecting the buoyancy force term,the bioconvection and nanofluid parameters have slight effects on the velocity *** resultant Lorentz force,from increasing the magnetic field parameter,try to decrease the velocity profiles and increase the rescaled density of motile microorganisms,temperature and nanoparticle volume fraction ***,an augmentation of power-law index drops the reduced local skin-friction and reduced Sherwood number,while it increases reduced Nusselt number and reduced local density number of motile microorganisms.

Entropy Generation for Flow and Heat Transfer of Sisko-Fluid Over an Exponentially Stretching Surface

Efficient electrocatalysts are vital to large-current hydrogen production in commercial water splitting for green energy ***,a novel heterophase engineering strategy is described to produce polymorphic CoSe_(2)*** composition of the electrocatalysts consisting of both cubic CoSe_(2)(c-CoSe_(2))and orthorhombic CoSe_(2)(o-CoSe_(2))phases can be controlled *** results demonstrate that junction-induced spin-state modulation of Co atoms enhances the adsorption of intermediates and accelerates charge transfer resulting in superior large-current hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)***,the CoSe_(2)based heterophase catalyst with the optimal c-CoSe_(2)content requires an overpotential of merely 240 mV to achieve 1,000 mA·cm^(-2)as well as a Tafel slope of 50.4 mV·dec^(-1).Furthermore,the electrocatalyst can maintain a large current density of 1,500 mA·cm^(-2)for over 320 h without *** results reveal the advantages and potential of heterophase junction engineering pertaining to design and fabrication of low-cost transition metal catalysts for large-current water splitting.

Physio-biochemical and nutrient constituents of peanut plants under bentazone herbicide for broad-leaved weed control and water regimes in dry land areas

The abundance of broad-leaved weeds in peanut fields represents the handicap in weed management programs, since limited specific herbicides can be recommended to control them. moreover, the physio-biochemical constituents and nutritional status in peanut plants as affected by available herbicides, i.e., bentazone under water stress conditions are not well known. Therefore, field trials were conducted during the growing seasons in 2016 and 2017 to investigate the interactional impact of irrigation levels(I_(50), I_(75) and I_(100), representing irrigation by 50%, 75% and 100% of crop evapotranspiration, respectively) and weed control practices(bentazone, bentazone+hoeing once, hoeing twice and weedy check as control) on dominant broad-leaved weeds as well as peanut physiological and agronomic traits. Result indicated that the efficiency of weed control for each weeded treatment under I_(50) significantly equaled with its counterpart under I_(75) or I_(100). Bentazone+hoeing once diminished weed biomass by 89.3% and enhanced chlorophyll content of peanut plants by 51.2%. Bentazone relatively caused a reduction in carotenoides. Hoeing twice and bentazone+hoeing once under I_(100) in both growing seasons as well as hoeing twice under I_(75) in 2017 were the superior combinations for boosting pod yield of peanut plants. Treatment of bentazone+hoeing once and I_(75) recorded the lowest reduction in N utilization percentage and the highest increase in potassium utilization percentage of peanut plants. eliminating weeds enhanced water use efficiency by 37.8%, 49.6% and 34.7% under I_(50), I_(75) and I_(100), respectively. In conclusion, peanut seems to be tolerant to bentazone at moderate water supply, thus it can be safely used in controlling the associated broad-leaved weeds.
