Background: Breast cancer is still the most common indication for chest wall irradiation, despite the advances in RTH techniques complications still occur, and the time of its occurrence vary and could take few months to many years. ORN usually manifests with pain, exposed bone, fistulae and pathological fracture and the proper management needs proper debridement and coverage by thick musculocutaneous flaps. Objective: To evaluate different techniques of surgical management of post-irradiation persistent radio-necrotic ulcer & ORN with emphasis on the outcome of each technique. Patients and methods: A retrospective study from 2010 to 2015 reviewed 20 patients subjected to post-mastectomy radiotherapy as a treatment for breast cancer inNCICairo, and Minia oncology center Hospital, Egypt. Cases were biopsied to exclude local recurrence. The age, sex, type of ulcer, dose of radiotherapy received and the management done for these cases were recorded. Results: Only 4 patients responded to conservative treatment in the form of repeated dressings, and 16 patients needed surgical treatment;5 of them were treated with debridement and coverage with split thickness graft with high rate of complications reaching 80%, the other 11 patients were reconstructed with musculocutanoeus flaps, of these 7 patients were reconstructed with LD flaps with 57.14% success rate and minor complications only, the other 4 cases were reconstructed with TRAM flap with 50% success and major loss of the flap in one case that needed salvage by LD flap. Pre-operative comorbidity was found in 6 patients and all of them experienced complications while only 3 of the other 14 who had no comorbidity had postoperative complications. Conclusion: Pedicled flaps provide a good choice for reconstruction and provide chest wall support without the use of synthetic mesh.

The evolutionary and functional features of RNA editing are well studied in mammals,cephalopods,and insects,but not in ***,we integrated transcriptomic and whole-genomic analyses to exhaustively characterize the expansive repertoire of adenosine-to-inosine(A-to-I)RNA editing sites(RESs)in the *** addition,we investigated the evolutionary status of the chicken editome as a potential mechanism of *** detected the lowest editing level in the liver of chickens,compared to muscles in humans,and found higher editing activity and specificity in the brain than in non-neural tissues,consistent with the brain’s functional *** a certain extent,specific editing activity may account for the specific functions of *** results also revealed that sequences critical to RES secondary structures remained conserved within avian ***,the RNA editome was shaped by purifying selection during chicken domestication and most RESs may have served as a selection pool for a few functional RESs involved in chicken domestication,including evolution of nervous and immune *** of RNA editing in chickens by adenosine deaminase acting on RNA(ADAR)enzymes may be affected by non-ADAR factors whose expression levels changed widely after ADAR ***,we provide comprehensive lists of candidate RESs and non-ADAR-editing regulators in the chicken,thus contributing to our current understanding of the functions and evolution of RNA editing in animals.

Trace element analysis on hair samples has been widely used to assess wildlife and human exposure to different contaminants present in the environment or at the workplace. Pollutants due to the presence of toxic metals in environment not only enter the body by breading, water, and foodstuff accumulates in hair, but they could be adsorbed directly on the hair from environment. In order to remove adsorbed elements and thus determine the internally bound elements correctly, hair sample must be washed. In the present work, we propose uncertainty estimation for the analytical results that are obtained from determination of cadmium, lead, copper, iron, manganese and nickel in human hair by flame and electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry （FAAS and ETAAS）. To estimate the uncertainty of analytical result obtained, two types of bias are calculated in the assessment of trueness： a proportional bias and a constant bias. Nested design was applied for calculating proportional bias and Youden method to calculate the constant bias. The results we obtained for proportional bias are calculated from spiked samples. In this case, the concentration found is plotted against the concentration added and the slop of standard addition curve is an estimate of the method recovery. Estimated method of average recovery in human hair is：（1.019 ±0.026）, （0.918 ±0.014）, （1.073±0.016）, （1.0597± 0.017）, （1.073± 0.020） and （0.934± 0.117） for Cd, Pb, Mn, Ni, Fe and Cu respectively.

四纹豆象Callosobruchus maculatus(F.)是伊朗豇豆种子上的主要贮藏害虫。控制这一害虫时,用生物杀虫剂比用常规杀虫剂更为合适。本研究评价了室内条件下在玻璃表面上硅藻土和多杀菌素对四纹豆象成虫的致死效应和亚致死效应。结果表明:硅藻土处理24h和48h后,对四纹豆象成虫的LC50值分别为1.47和0.2g/m2;多杀菌素处理24h和48h后,对四纹豆象成虫的LC50值分别为102.9和68.8mgai/L,说明两种化合物都对四纹豆象成虫具有较高的急性毒性。通过检测生物学参数,研究了LC20浓度的硅藻土和多杀菌素对四纹豆象的亚致死效应。LC20浓度的硅藻土和多杀菌素使四纹豆象成虫的繁殖力分别比对照降低了71.5%和17.2%,卵孵化率降低了57.5%和27.8%,成虫寿命缩短了74.7%和17.1%。接触LC20浓度的硅藻土和多杀菌素使这一害虫的蛹期分别比对照延长了4.8%和2.3%。亚致死效应研究表明,硅藻土和多杀菌素对四纹豆象的生命参数均产生了负面影响。总之,致死效应和亚致死效应综合显示,硅藻土在防治四纹豆象上具有较大的潜力。

Previous clinical research studies consider the existence of differences among normal individual cerebral cortex and show that some features such as cerebral sulci are unique for each individual so that human brains are anatomically different and unique to each individual. In this work, we highlight the idea which consists in using medical data, such as brain MRI images for the purpose of individual identification or verification. In other words, we raise the following question: can one identify individuals using their brain geometry characteristics? Our aim is to validate the feasibility of this new biometrics tool based on human brain characterization. The proposed approach differs from existent biometrics modalities (e.g. fingerprint, hand, etc.) in the sense that brain features cannot be modified by individuals as it is the case when using fake fingerprints, or fake hands. In this work, we consider volumetric Magnetic Resonance Images (MRI) from which brain shapes are extracted using a 3D level-sets segmentation approach. Afterwards, geometrical descriptors are extracted from the 3D brain volume and from a projected version which provide specific features such as the isoperimetric ratio, the cortical surface curvature and the Gyrification index. Evaluations performed on a set of MRI images obtained from (MeDEISA) database show that it is possible to distinguish between individuals using their brain characteristics. Preliminary results are particularly encouraging.

Obesity has been identified with an expanded danger of a progression of illnesses that include different organ-frameworks of the *** the present examination,we evaluated the hypolipidemic properties of Echinochrome(Ech)pigment in a high-fat diet(HFD)induced hyperlipidemia in *** the hyperlipidemic model was set up,rats were haphazardly separated into five groups as follows:normal control group,HFD group,Atorvastatin(ATOR)group(80 mg/kg),Ech group(1 mg/kg)and combined group ATOR+*** outcomes demonstrated that Ech improves lipid profile,liver functions,kidney functions and antioxidant markers of obese *** findings of the present investigation indicated that the Ech possesses hypolipidemic potential in obese rats.

Ocular trauma treated with pars plana vitrectomy: early outcome report

AIM： To evaluate demographic variables and visual outcomes, among patients with ocular injuries involving the posterior segment, managed with pars plana vitrectomy.· METHODS： The records of patients were studied retrospectively from March to September 2010, to determine the age, gender, place of occurrence of trauma, visual acuity, anatomical site, nature of injury,wound length, the presence of an afferent pupillary defect, and the timing of vitrectomy. The Ocular Trauma Score was measured. The minimum follow-up from presentation was 6mo.·RESULTS： Ninety patients（77 males, 13 females）, with a mean age of 32.7 ±15.8y were included over the 6-month period. The majority of cases occurred in the workplace（47 patients）, followed by home（14 patients）.The mean visual acuity（log MAR） of patients significantly improved from 2.36 ±0.72 preoperatively to 1.50 ±1.14 postoperatively. Twenty-three patients had preoperative vision better than 2.0 log MAR, the postoperative visual acuity was significantly better among these patients than patients with worse than 2.0 log MAR（P 〈0.001）. Visual improvement between groups with early vitrectomy（〉7d）and delayed vitrectomy（〉7d） was not significantly different（P =0.66）. Postoperative visual acuity was not significantly different between patients with injury in Zone I and II（P =0.64）, but patients with injury in Zone III had significantly poorer visual acuity（P =0.02）. Patients with relative afferent pupillary defect had significantly poorer postoperative visual acuity（P =0.02）. Preoperative visual acuity, the difference of preoperative and postoperative visual acuity, and postoperative visualacuity were significantly different between groups with different ocular trauma scores（P〈 0.001）.·CONCLUSION： Trauma is more likely to occur in men under 40 y of age and in the workplace. The objective of this work is to present a boundary integral formulation for the static, linear plane strain problem of uncoupled magneto-elasticity for an infinite magnetizable cylinder in a transverse magnetic field. This formulation allows to obtain analytical solutions in closed form for problems with relatively simple geometries, in addition to being particularly well-adapted to numerical approaches for more complicated cases. As an application, the first fundamental problem of Elasticity for the circular cylinder is investigated.
