Capacitive energy storage from single pore to porous electrode identified by frequency response analysis

Rate capability,peak power,and energy density are of vital importance for the capacitive energy storage(CES)of electrochemical energy *** frequency response analysis(FRA)is regarded as an efficient tool in studying the *** the present work,a bi-scale impedance transmission line model(TLM)is firstly developed for a single pore to a porous *** only the TLM of the single pore is reparameterized but also the particle packing compactness is defined in the ***,the CES properties are identified by FRA,focused on rate capability *** frequency,peak power *** series resistance,and energy density *** frequency limiting capacitance for a single pore to a porous *** on these relationships,the CES properties are numerically simulated and theoretically predicted for a single pore to a porous electrode in terms of intra-particle pore length,intra-particle pore diameter,inter-particle pore diameter,electrolyte conductivity,interfacial capacitance&exponent factor,electrode thickness,electrode apparent surface area,and particle packing ***,the experimental diagnosis of four supercapacitors(SCs)with different electrode thicknesses is conducted for validating the bi-scale TLM and gaining an insight into the CES properties for a porous electrode to a single *** calculating results suggest,to some extent,the inter-particle pore plays a more critical role than the intra-particle pore in the CES properties such as the rate capability and the peak power density for a single pore to a porous ***,in order to design a better porous electrode,more attention should be given to the inter-particle pore.

Suppressing the anomalous rapid oxidation of Ti_3AlC_2 by incorporating TiB_2

The oxidation behavior of Ti_3AlC_2-20 TiB_2 composite was studied at 500℃–900℃ in air. The composite showed a very low oxidation rate and followed a logarithmic oxidation law. The in-situ incorporation of TiB_2 suppressed the anomalous rapid oxidation of the substrate Ti_3AlC_2 occurred near 600℃ by forming a protective B_2O_3 glass layer, and also improved the oxidation resistance of the MAX phase at intermediatetemperature.

ZnSe quantum dots downshifting layer for perovskite solar cells

To date, the instability of organometal halide perovskite solar cells（PSCs） has become the focus issue that limits the development and long-term application of PSCs. Both the ultraviolet（UV） rays in sunlight and moisture in air can significantly accelerate the disintegration of the perovskite. Here, we introduced a Zn Se quantum dots layer as downshifting materials, which was spin-coated onto the backside of *** layer converted the UV rays into visible light to prevent the destruction of PSCs as well as increase the light harvesting of the perovskite layer. Under the UV irradiation in the moisture ambient（40%）, the destruction speed of the unencapsulated perovskite films were also delayed evidently. In addition, the power conversion efficiency（PCE） of the PSCs was increased from 16.6% to 17.3% due to the increase of the visible light absorbance of the perovskite.

No DCX-positive neurogenesis in the cerebral cortex of the adult primate

Whether endogenous neurogenesis occurs in the adult cortex remains *** increasing number of reports suggest that doublecortin(DCX)-positive neurogenesis persists in the adult primate cortex,attracting enormous attention *** this study,different DCX antibodies were used together with NeuN antibodies in immunohistochemistry and western blot assays using adjacent cortical sections from adult *** adsorption,antigen binding,primary antibody omission and antibody-free experiments were used to assess specificity of the *** found either strong fluorescent signals,medium-weak intensity signals in some cells,weak signals in a few perikarya or near complete lack of labeling in adjacent cortical sections incubated with the various DCX *** putative DCX-positive cells in the cortex were also positive for NeuN,a specific marker of mature ***,further experiments showed that most of these signals were either the result of antibody cross reactivity,the non-specificity of secondary antibodies or tissue *** confirmed DCX-positive cells were detected in the adult macaque cortex by *** findings show that DCX-positive neurogenesis does not occur in the cerebral cortex of adult primates,and that false-positive signals(artefacts)are caused by antibody cross reactivity and *** experimental protocols were approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee of the Institute of Neuroscience,Beijing,China(approval ***-AMMS-2014-501).

Preparation and Characterization of Buoyant Nitrogen-doped TiO_2 Composites Supported by Fly Ash Cenospheres for Photocatalytic Applications

Fly ash cenospheres （FACs） coated with nitrogen-doped Ti02 （N-TiO2） composites were prepared by the sol-gel method for use as photocatalysts. The photocatalytic activity and kinetics of the composites produced at different calcination temperatures and with different nitrogen doping contents were studied under visible light irradiation by monitoring the environmental degradation of methylene blue （MB）. The MB degradation ratio of N-TiO2/FAC （25%, 450 ~C） was 10% higher than that of N-TiO2 and 40% higher than that of TiO2/FAC. These N-TJO2/FAC composites floated in water and could be recovered after the photocatalytic reaction by phase separation.

Velocity Control of a Bounding Quadruped via Energy Control and Vestibular Reflexes

In this paper a bio-inspired approach of velocity control for a quadruped robot running with a bounding gait on compliant legs is set up. The dynamic properties ofa sagittal plane model of the robot are investigated. By analyzing the stable fixed points based on Poincare map, we find that the energy change of the system is the main source for forward velocity adjustment. Based on the analysis of the dynamics model of the robot, a new simple linear running controller is proposed using the energy control idea, which requires minimal task level feedback and only controls both the leg torque and ending impact angle. On the other hand, the functions of mammalian vestibular reflexes are discussed, and a reflex map between forward velocity and the pitch movement is built through statistical regression analysis. Finally, a velocity controller based on energy control and vestibular reflexes is built, which has the same structure as the mammalian nervous mechanism for body posture control. The new con- troller allows the robot to run autonomously without any other auxiliary equipment and exhibits good speed adjustment capa- bility. A series simulations and experiments were set to show the good movement agility, and the feasibility and validity of the robot system.

BACKGROUND Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis(HLH)is a rare and life-threatening disease caused by inherited pathogenic mutations and acquired dysregulations of the immune *** lymphoma is defined as two or more morphologically and immunophenotypically distinct lymphomas that occur in a single ***,we report two cases of HLH secondary to composite lymphoma with mixed lineage features of T-and B-cell marker expression both in the bone marrow and lymph nodes in adult *** SUMMARY Two patients were diagnosed with HLH based on the occurrence of fever,pancytopenia,lymphadenopathy,splenomegaly,hemophagocytosis and *** staining of the axillary lymph node and bone marrow in case 1 showed typical features of combined B-cell and T-cell *** addition,a lymph node gene study revealed rearrangement of the T-cell receptor chain and the immunoglobulin *** and immunohistochemistry studies of a lymph node biopsy in case 2 showed typical features of T cell lymphoma,but immunophenotyping by flow cytometry analysis of bone marrow aspirate showed B cell lymphoma *** patients were treated with high-dose methylprednisolone combined with etoposide to control aggressive HLH *** patients also received immunochemotherapy with the R-CHOP(rituximab,cyclophosphamide,doxorubicin,vincristine,and prednisone)regimen immediately after *** patients presented with highly aggressive lymphoma,and died of severe infection or uncontrolled *** We present two rare cases with overwhelming hemophagocytosis along with composite T-and B-cell lymphoma,which posed a diagnostic *** caused by composite lymphoma was characterized by poor clinical outcomes.

Tuning of band gaps for a two-dimensional piezoelectric phononic crystal with a rectangular lattice

In this paper, the elastic wave propagation in a two-dimensional piezoelectric phononic crystal is studied by considering the mechanic-electric coupling. The generalized eigenvalue equation is obtained by the relation of the mechanic and electric fields as well as the Bloch-Floquet theorem. The band structures of both the in-plane and anti-plane modes are calculated for a rectangular lattice by the planewave expansion method. The effects of the lattice constant ratio and the piezoelectricity with different filling fractions are analyzed. The results show that the largest gap width is not always obtained for a square lattice. In some situations, a rectangular lattice may generate larger gaps. The band gap characteristics are influenced obviously by the piezoelectricity with the larger lattice constant ratios and the filling fractions.

Effects of water and fertilizer deficit regulation with drip irrigation at different growth stages on fruit quality improvement of kiwifruit in seasonal arid areas of Southwest China

For a long time,seasonal drought occurs frequently in Southwest China,and the management of water and fertilizer in kiwifruit orchards has no quantitative standards,which seriously affects the yield and quality of ***,the effects of water and fertilizer deficit regulation with drip irrigation(WFDRDI)on the quality of kiwifruit at different growth stages were explored to achieve water and fertilizer saving,and green and efficient production of *** select‘Jin Yan'kiwifruit and set two water deficit levels(W_(D20%)and W_(D40%))and three fertilizer deficit levels(F_(D15%),F_(D30%)and F_(D45%))at bud burst to leafing stage(stageⅠ),flowering to fruit set stage(stageⅡ),fruit expansion stage(stageⅢ)and fruit maturation stage(stageⅣ),respectively,with a full irrigation and fertilization as the control treatment(CK)in 2017and *** showed that the WFDRDI at stageⅡandⅢhad significant effect on fruit physical quality of kiwifruit,specifically,theⅢ-WD40%F_(D30%)andⅢ-W_(D20%)F_(D45%)treatments significantly increased fruit firmness by 13.62 and 15.59%(Plity of ***Ⅲ-W_(D20%)F_(D45%),Ⅳ-W_(D40%)F_(D15%)andⅣ-W_(D20%)F_(D30%)treatments significantly increased vitamin C(Vc)content by 69.96,36.96 and 34.31%(Plid(TSS)content by 3.79 and 17.05%(P<0.05),respectively,and significantly increased soluble sugar content by 28.61 and 34.79%(P<0.05),respectively;the contents of fructose,glucose and sucrose also had a significan
