A novel optical emission spectroscopy method for diagnostics of contribution of different ionization mechanisms and flux of ions in different valences in discharge channel of a Hall thruster

The mass application of Hall thrusters poses the need for a diagnostic method of ionization mechanism in the discharge channel to boost the iteration and optimization of thruster *** work presents an Optical Emission Spectroscopy (OES) method for diagnostics of the contribution of different ionization mechanisms and the flux of ions in different valences in the discharge channel of a Hall *** emission spectra in the discharge channel are analyzed by jointly utilizing a collisional-radiative model,an ionization-excitation model,and a flux-conservation *** is found that the intensities of some spectral lines can be converted into the reaction rates of collision processes,e.g.,electron-induced excitation and ionization *** latter can further be used to determine the evolutions of particle fluxes by utilizing the conservation law of *** novel method is demonstrated on a kilo-watt Hall *** evolutions of several parameters are determined using this method along the discharge channel,including the ionization rates of different mechanisms,particle fluxes,particle densities,and particle *** novel method can be further developed by being jointly utilized with spectral imaging and tomography techniques,enabling diagnostics of multi-dimensional distributions of the above-mentioned parameters in the discharge channel and near-field plume.

Simulation Study on the Heat Transfer Characteristics of a Spray-Cooled Single-Pipe Cooling Tower

The current study focuses on spray cooling applied to the heat exchange components of a cooling *** optimization of such processes is attempted by assessing different spray flow rates and droplet *** simplicity,the heat exchanger of the cooling tower is modeled as a horizontal round tube and a cooling tower spray cooling model is developed accordingly using a computational fluid dynamics(CFD)*** study examines the influence of varying spray flow rates and droplet sizes on the heat flow intensity between the liquid layer on the surface of the cylindrical tube and the surrounding air,taking into account the number of *** is observed that on increasing the spray flow strength,the heat flow intensity and extent of the liquid film in the system are enhanced ***,the magnitude of droplet size significantly impacts heat transfer.A larger droplet size decreases evaporation in the air and enhances the deposition of droplets on the round *** facilitates the creation of the liquid film and enhances the passage of heat between the liquid film and *** the number of nozzles,while maintaining a constant spray flow rate,results in a decrease in the flow rate of each individual *** decrease is not favorable in terms of heat transfer.

Low-temperature processed electron transport layer(ETL)of TiO_(2)that is widely used in planar perovskite solar cells(PSCs)has inherent low carrier mobility,resulting in insufficient photogenerated elec-tron transport and thus recombination loss at buried ***,we demonstrate an effective strategy of laser embedding of p-n homojunctions in the TiO_(2)ETL to accelerate electron transport in PSCs,through localized build-in electric fields that enables boosted electron mobility by two orders of *** embedding is found significantly helpful for not only the enhanced crystallization quality of TiO_(2)ETL,but the fabrication of perovskite films with larger-grain and the *** embedded p-n homojunction enables also the modulation of interfacial energy level between perovskite layers and ETLs,favoring for the reduced voltage deficit of *** from these merits,the formamidinium lead iodide(FAPbI_(3))PSCs employing such ETLs deliver a champion efficiency of 25.50%,along with much-improved device stability under harsh conditions,i.e.,maintain over 95%of their initial efficiency after operation at maximum power point under continuous heat and illumination for 500 h,as well as mixed-cation PSCs with a champion efficiency of 22.02%and over 3000 h of ambient storage under humidity stability of 40%.Present study offers new possibilities of regulating charge transport layers via p-n homojunction embedding for high performance optoelectronics.

Supramolecular polymer-based gel fracturing fluid with a double network applied in ultra-deep hydraulic fracturing

A gel based on polyacrylamide,exhibiting delayed crosslinking characteristics,emerges as the preferred solution for mitigating degradation under conditions of high temperature and extended shear in ultralong *** viscosity/viscoelasticity of the fracturing fluid was required to maintain excellent proppant suspension properties before *** into account both the cost and the potential damage to reservoirs,polymers with lower concentrations and molecular weights are generally *** this work,the supramolecular action was integrated into the polymer,resulting in significant increases in the viscosity and viscoelasticity of the synthesized supramolecular polymer *** double network gel,which is formed by the combination of the supramolecular polymer system and a small quantity of Zr-crosslinker,effectively resists temperature while minimizing permeability damage to the *** results indicate that the supramolecular polymer system with a molecular weight of(268—380)×10^(4)g/mol can achieve the same viscosity and viscoelasticity at 0.4 wt%due to the supramolecular interaction between polymers,compared to the 0.6 wt%traditional polymer(hydrolyzed polyacrylamide,molecular weight of 1078×10^(4)g/mol).The supramolecular polymer system possessed excellent proppant suspension properties with a 0.55 cm/min sedimentation rate at 0.4 wt%,whereas the0.6 wt%traditional polymer had a rate of 0.57 cm/*** comparison to the traditional gel with a Zrcrosslinker concentration of 0.6 wt%and an elastic modulus of 7.77 Pa,the double network gel with a higher elastic modulus(9.00 Pa)could be formed only at 0.1 wt%Zr-crosslinker,which greatly reduced the amount of residue of the fluid after *** viscosity of the double network gel was66 m Pa s after 2 h shearing,whereas the traditional gel only reached 27 m Pa s.

Metadynamic Recrystallization Behavior of As-cast 904L Superaustenitic Stainless Steel

The metadynamic recrystallization （MDRX） behavior of as-cast 904L superaustenitic stainless steel was in- vestigated by double pass isothermal compression tests at temperatures of 950-1 150 ℃, strain rates of 0.05-5 s 1 and interval of 1-100 s. The effects of working parameters （deformation temperature, strain rate, pre-strain and in- terval time） on the flow curves and microstructural evolution were discussed. The MDRX fraction increased obvious- ly with the increase of deformation temperature, strain rate and interval time. The MDRX softening was controlled by the migration of grain boundary, annihilation of dislocation and dynamic recrystallization. Moreover, the kinetic model was established for the prediction of MDRX behavior of as-cast 904L superaustenitic stainless steel based on the experimental data. A good agreement between the predicted and the experimental values was achieved （correla- tion coefficient R2= 0.98）, indicating a satisfactory accuracy.

Common mycorrhizal networks activate salicylic acid defense responses of trifoliate orange(Poncirus trifoliata)

Citrus canker, caused by Xanthomonas axonopo-dis pv. citri ('Xac'), is an important quarantine disease in citrus crops. Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) form symbiotic interactions with host plants and further affect their disease resistance, possibly by modulating the activity of salicylic acid (SA), a key phytohormone in disease resistance. Common mycorrhizal networks (CMNs) can interconnect plants, but it is not yet clear whether CMNs promote resistance to citrus canker and, if so, whether SA signaling is involved in this process. To test this possibility, we used a two-chambered rootbox to establish CMNs between trifoliate orange (Poncirus trifoliata) seedlings in chambers inoculated (treated) or not (neighboring) with the AMF, Paraglomus occultum. A subset of the AMF-inoculated seedlings were also inoculated with Xac (+AMF+Xac). At 2 d post-inoculation (dpi), compared with the +AMF-Xac treatment, neighboring seedlings in +AMF+Xac treatment had lower expression levels of the SA biosynthetic genes, PtPAL, PtEPS1, and PtPBS3, but higher SA levels, which attributed to the upregulation of PtPAL and PtPBS3 in treated seedlings and the transfer of SA, via CMNs, to the neighboring seedlings. At 4 dpi, the pathogenesis-related (PR) protein genes, PtPR1, PtPR4, and PtPR5, and the transcriptional regulatory factor gene, PtNPR1, were activated in neighboring seedlings of+AMF+Xac treatment. At 9 dpi, root phenylalanine ammo-nia-lyase activity and total soluble phenol and lignin concentrations increased in neighboring seedlings of+AMF+Xac treatment, likely due to the linkage and signal transfer, via CMNs. These findings support the hypothesis that CMNs transfer the SA signal from infected to neighboring healthy seedlings, to activate defense responses and affording protection to neighboring plants against citrus canker infection.

Clinical characteristics of COVID-19 in family clusters: a systematic review

Background Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)has spread around the world and reports of children during early epidemic period showed features of family *** aim of this study is to assess clinical profiles of COVID-19 in family clusters with *** We performed a systematic literature review of English database(PubMed,Web of Science)and Chinese database(“***”,“***”and“***”)to identify papers on family clusters of COVID-19 with children and their family *** Eighteen studies involving 34 children and 98 adults from 28 families were ***,cough and ground-grass opacity change of chest computed tomography(CT)were the dominant features,whereas proportion of asymptomatic infections for children was higher than adults with statistical significance(32.4%and 13.3%,respectively,P<0.05).Median time of longer incubation period(10 days)and shorter duration of pharyngeal swab nucleic acid test positive period(11 days)were seen in children than adults(7 and 17 days,respectively)with statistical significance(P<0.05).There were statistically significant differences in lymphopenia,increased C-reactive protein and abnormal chest CT between children and adult patients(P<0.05).Twenty-seven families reported adults as first case of COVID-19 in family *** The same virus strain can cause milder disease in children compared with their *** of COVID-19 were infected by adults in family during the early epidemic *** patients can transmit the virus.

Emission and Energy Transfer Characteristics of Coumarin 6 Molecules Doped in Opal Polymer Photonic Crystal

The emission of coumarin 6（C-6） doped in opal polymethylmethacrylate（PMMA） photonic crystal（PC） was effectively manipulated. Meanwhile the energy transfer（ET） of C-6 in PCs, which are infiltrated with sulforho- damine B（S-B）, was influenced by the concentration of energy acceptor in solution, the size of PMMA micro- sphere（SM） and the photonic stop band（PSB）. The results should be beneficial to people to further understand the potential application of PCs in optoelectronic fields.

Corrosion Resistance and Semiconducting Properties of Passive Films Formed on 00Cr13Ni5Mo2 Supermartensitic Stainless Steel in Cl^- Environment

The semiconducting properties of passive films grown on 00Crl3Ni5Mo2 supermartensitic stainless steel were investigated in comparison with conventional 2Cr13 martensitic stainless steel. Cyclic vohammetry and electro- chemical impedance spectroscopy （EIS） were used for the studies. 00Crl3NiSMo2 steel exhibited a good corrosion resistance performance, attributing to its passive capability. The results of Mott-Schottky analysis demonstrated n- type semiconductors for the passive films with doping densities of about 1020- 1021 cm -3, and the thickness of space- charge layers was also calculated. The experimental results confirmed that Mo plays an important role in improving the corrosion resistance of 00Crl3Ni5Mo2 steel due to its impact on the doping density.
