Hepatocellular carcinoma national burden across different geographical regions in the United States between 2001 and 2020

BACKGROUND While prior data showed an increasing incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)in the United States,there are limited comprehensive and comparative data on the geographical variations of HCC trends in different demographicspecific *** To evaluate sex and age-specific incidence rates and time trends in different geographical regions in the United *** Age-adjusted HCC incidence rates were collected from the United States Cancer Statistics(USCS)database which covers approximately 98%of the population in the United *** rates were stratified by sex,age,and geographical *** percentage change(APC)and average APC(AAPC)were estimated using Joinpoint Regression.A pairwise comparison was conducted between sex-specific *** There were 467344 patients diagnosed with HCC in the United States in the USCS database between 2001 and *** rates and trends varied by geographical *** looking at the West region(115336 patients),incidence rates of HCC were overall increasing and also increasing in older ***,when evaluating younger adults,HCC incidence rates decreased in men but not in women with a sex-specific absolute AAPC-difference of 2.15(P=0.005).When evaluating the Midwest region(84612 patients),similar results were *** incidence rates were increasing in the overall population and in older adults as well,they were decreasing in younger men but not in women with a sex-specific absolute AAPC-difference of 1.61(P<0.001).For the Northeast region(87259 patients),the analysis showed similar results with decreasing HCC incidence rates in younger men but not counterpart women(Sex-specific AAPC-difference=3.26,P<0.001).Lastly,when evaluating the south(180137 patients),the results were also decreasing in younger men but not in women(Sex-specific AAPC-difference=2.55,P<0.001).CONCLUSION Nationwide analysis covering around 98%of the United States population shows an increasing incidence of HCC across all

Second Order Nonlinear Evolution Inclusions Ⅱ： Structure of the Solution Set

We contimle the work initiated in [1] （Second order nonlinear evolution inclusions I： Existence and relaxation results. Acta Mathematics Science, English Series, 21（5）, 977-996 （2005）） and study the structural properties of the solution set of second order evolution inclusions which are defined in the analytic framework of the evolution triple. For the convex problem we show that the solution set is compact Rs, while for the nonconvex problem we show that it is path connected, Also we show that the solution set is closed only if the multivalued nonlinearity is convex valued. Finally we illustrate the results by considering a nonlinear hyperbolic problem with discontinuities.

The habitation Model Trend Calculation(MTC):A new effective tool for predictive modeling in archaeology

The aim of this paper is to create and present a new archaeological predictive model via GIS,incorporating what archaeologists consider the most important criterion absent of similar past models,that of critical *** new model suggested in this paper is named habitation Model Trend Calculation(MTC)and is not only integrates the archaeological questions with a critical view,but it can be easily adjusted,according to the conditions or the questions concerning the archaeological ***,it uses new topographical and geomorphological indexes such as Topographical Index(TPI),Hillslope and Landform Classification that give a new sense of the topographical and geomorphological characteristics of the examined area;therefore this model is a more powerful tool compared to older models that did not use new topographical and geomorphological *** success of the created model is checked as a case study in the region of Messenia,Greece during the Mycenaean *** region of Messenia is considered as one of the most important Mycenaean regions of Greece due to the great number and the importance of Mycenaean sites *** the present paper,140 habitation sites were divided into four hierarchical categories(centers,large villages,villages,and farms)based on the extent and the plurality of the tholos tombs that exist in the broader region and according to the hierarchical categorization used by the archaeologists who have studied the *** new predictive model presented in this work can assist in solving a series of criticisms that have been expressed in the previous studies regarding such ***,in the case of Mycenaean Messenia,the model shows excellent results in relation to the habitats of the time.

Multi-period Power System State Estimation with PMUs Under GPS Spoofing Attacks

This paper introduces a dynamic network model together with a phasor measurement unit(PMU)measurement model suitable for power system state estimation under spoofing attacks on the global positioning system(GPS)receivers of *** spoofing attacks may introduce time-varying phase offsets in the affected PMU *** algorithm is developed to jointly estimate the state of the network,which amounts to the nodal voltages in rectangular coordinates,as well as the time-varying *** algorithm features closedform *** effectiveness of the algorithm is verified on the standard IEEE transmission *** is numerically shown that the estimation performance is improved when the dynamic network model is accounted for compared with a previously reported static approach.

ON BLOCK MATRICES ASSOCIATED WITH DISCRETE TRIGONOMETRIC TRANSFORMS AND THEIR USE IN THE THEORY OF WAVE PROPAGATION

Block matrices associated with discrete Trigonometric transforms （DTT＇s） arise in the mathematical modelling of several applications of wave propagation theory including discretizations of scatterers and radiators with the Method of Moments, the Boundary Element Method, and the Method of Auxiliary Sources. The DTT＇s are represented by the Fourier, Hartley, Cosine, and Sine matrices, which are unitary and offer simultaneous diagonalizations of specific matrix algebras. The main tool for the investigation of the aforementioned wave applications is the efficient inversion of such types of block matrices. To this direction, in this paper we develop an efficient algorithm for the inversion of matrices with U-diagonalizable blocks （U a fixed unitary matrix） by utilizing the U- diagonalization of each block and subsequently a similarity transformation procedure. We determine the developed method＇s computational complexity and point out its high efficiency compared to standard inversion techniques. An implementation of the algorithm in Matlab is given. Several numerical results are presented demonstrating the CPU-time efficiency and accuracy for ill-conditioned matrices of the method. The investigated matrices stem from real-world wave propagation applications.

A LOW-FREQUENCY ELECTROMAGNETIC NEAR-FIELD INVERSE PROBLEM FOR A SPHERICAL SCATTERER

The interior low-frequency electromagnetic dipole excitation of a dielectric sphere is uti- lized as a simplified but realistic model in various biomedical applications. Motivated by these considerations, in this paper, we investigate analytically a near-field inverse scatter- ing problem for the electromagnetic interior dipole excitation of a dielectric sphere. First, we obtain, under the low-frequency assumption, a closed-form approximation of the series of the secondary electric field at the dipole＇s location. Then, we utilize this derived approx- imation in the development of a simple inverse medium scattering algorithm determining the sphere＇s dielectric permittivity. Finally, we present numerical results for a human head model, which demonstrate the accurate determination of the complex permittivity by the developed algorithm.

Effect of testosterone replacement treatment on constitutional and sexual symptoms in type 2 diabetic men. need for rules

In a recent publication, Gianatti and colleagues investigated the effect of testosterone treatment in obese, aging men with type 2 diabetes （T2D） with mild to moderate symptoms, a modest reduction in testosterone levels, mild to moderate aging male symptoms, and erectile dysfunction？ The authors could not show any significant improvement in constitutional or sexual symptoms in this group of men. This randomized double-blind, parallel, and placebo-controlled trial among other critically emphasizes the increased testosterone prescriptions worldwide and together with other corroborating or contradictory studies awakes the need for guidelines in the androgen replacement treatment.
