Background:Newly diagnosed breast cancer patients experience sym.tom. that m.y affect their quality of life,treatm.nt outcom.s,and *** and m.naging breast cancer-related sym.tom. soon after diagnosis is *** purpose of this study was to investigate the associations between health-related fitness(HRF)and patient-reported sym.tom. in newly diagnosed breast cancer ***:This study utilized baseline data from.the Alberta m.ving Beyond Breast Cancer Cohort Study that were collected within 90 days of *** m.asures included peak cardiopulm.nary fitness(peak volum. of oxygen consum.tion(VO_(2peak))),m.xim.l m.scular strength and endurance,flexibility,and body *** m.asures included depression,sleep quality,and *** m.ltivariable logistic regression was perform.d for ***:Of 1458 participants,51.5%reported poor sleep quality,26.5%reported significant fatigue,and 10.4%reported m.derate *** m.ltivariable-adjusted m.dels,lower relative VO_(2peak)was independently associated with a greater likelihood of all sym.tom.m.asures,including m.derate depression(pity(p=0.009),significant fatigue(p=0.008),any sym.tom.pm.ltiple sym.tom.(pm.nstrated threshold associations with all sym.tom.m.asures such that all 3 lower quartiles exhibited sim.lar elevated risk com.ared to the highest *** strength of the threshold associations varied by the sym.tom.m.asure with odds ratios ranging from.1.5 for poor sleep quality to-3.0 for m.derate depression and m.ltiple ***,lower relative upper body m.scular endurance was also independently associated with fatigue in a dose-response m.nner(p=0.001),and higher body weight was independently associated with poor sleep quality in an inverted U pattern(p=0.021).Conclusion:Relative VO_(2peak)appears to be a critical HRF com.onent associated with m.ltiple patient-reported sym.tom. in newly diag

inventory of the Therm.-Physiological Behavior of Fabrics—A Review

A com.rehensive literature review was perform.d to create an inventory of therm.l-physiological quantities for fabrics from.different fiber m.terials, m.terial blends, and fabric structures. The goal was to derive over-arching concepts that cannot be seen by the individual studies alone. Equations of best fits suggest non-linear changes for fabric thickness, therm.l and water-vapor resistance with changes in m.terial blend ratio. Air perm.ability decreases with increasing fabric density and fabric weight wherein the degree of decrease differs am.ng fabric m.terials, blend ratio, and fabric structure. Water-vapor transm.ssion rates strongly depend on fabric thickness, m.terial, and blend, but m.rginally depend on fabric structure as long as the fabric and m.terial thickness rem.in the sam..

Com.arison of Cardiovascular Param.ters and internal Training Load of Different 1-h Training Sessions in Non-elite CrossFit^(®)Athletes

Purpose The fact that CrossFit^(®)is the best-known and rapidly growing concept for high-intensity interval training(HiiT)and high-intensity functional training(HiFT)results in a continuous increase of athletes perform.ng CrossFit^(®).in the m.re than 15,000 CrossFit^(®)Affiliates worldwide,the training concept is usually offered in 1-h training sessions containing the CrossFit^(®)-related workout of the day(WOD),as well as a general warm.up,m.vem.nt dem.nstrations,and skill ***,we report how physiological param.ters m.asured by heart rate(HR)values vary during four different 1-h CrossFit^(®)training sessions of non-elite athletes(n=27)in a local affiliated training center and what influencing factors m.y *** The duration of the 1-h training sessions were divided into a warm.up part(WU-part),a skill developm.nt part com.ined with strength exercises(A-part),followed by the WOD part(B-part).Results Analysis of HR values shows high training intensity(≥91%HR_(m.x))not throughout the duration of each training session,only during *** m.an HR values in B-part differ significantly com.ared to the rem.ining training parts(Pining *** of different CrossFit^(®)experience levels revealed no significant differ-ence in acute physiological dem.nds and training load between beginner and experienced CrossFit^(®)*** Our results m.y suggest that practicing CrossFit^(®)in 1-h training sessions com.ined anaerobic and aerobic exercise intensities,with the training concept allows beginners and experienced athletes to be trained with the sam. cardio-vascular responses and training intensities.

The tricarboxylic acid （TCA） cycle is a central route for oxidative phosphorylation in cells, and fulfills their bioenergetic, biosynthetic, and redox balance require- m.nts. Despite early dogm. that cancer cells bypass the TCA cycle and prim.rily utilize aerobic glycolysis, em.rging evidence dem.nstrates that certain cancer cells, especially those with deregulated oncogene and tum.r suppressor expression, rely heavily on the TCA cycle for energy production and m.crom.lecule synthesis. As the field progresses, the im.ortance of aberrant TCA cycle function in tum.rigenesis and the potentials of applying sm.ll m.lecule inhibitors to perturb the enhanced cycle function for cancer treatm.nt start to evolve. in this review, we sum.arize current knowledge about the fuels feeding the cycle, effects of oncogenes and tum.r suppressors on fuel and cycle usage, com.on genetic alterations and deregulation of cycle enzym.s, and potential therapeutic opportunities for targeting the TCA cycle in cancer cells. With the application of advanced technology and in vivo m.del organism.studies, it is our hope that studies of this previously overlooked biochem.cal hub will provide fresh insights into cancer m.tabolism.and tum.rigenesis, subsequently revealing vulnerabilities for thera- peutic interventions in various cancer types.
