The pres.nt s.udy as.es.es.how governance affects.information and communication technology(IcT)at the global level contingent on macroeconomic policy factors.s.ch as.trade,foreign direct inves.ment(FDI),manufacturing value added,and agricultural value *** s.udy focus.s.on 183 countries.from 2003 to 2021,and the empirical evidence is.bas.d on the generalized method of moments.GMM).The following main findings.are *** the full s.mple,governance unconditionally promotes.ICT development,while trade opennes.(indus.rial added value)moderates.governance to promote(dampen)ICT *** s.b-s.haran Africa,only trade opennes. effectively moderates.governance to induce an overall pos.tive effect on ICT,while in the Middle Eas. and North Africa(MENA)region,all policy variables.moderate governance for an overall pos.tive incidence on ICT s.ctor *** findings.for the MENA region are confirmed in the Europe and Central As.a(ECA)region,with the exception of the moderating role of indus.rial added value,which engenders.an overall negative *** the Eas. and s.uth As.a and the Pacific(Es.P)countries.one overall pos.tive incidence is.apparent in the role of trade opennes.,while net negative effects.are es.ablis.ed from the moderating roles.of indus.rial added value and agricultural added *** the American s.b-s.mple,a pos.tive(negative)net effect is.apparent from the role of indus.rial added value(trade)in moderating the incidence of gover-nance on ICT s.ctor ***,policy implications.are dis.us.ed.

The frequency and duration of obs.rved concurrent hot and dry events.HDEs. over China during the growing s.as.n(April–s.ptember) exhibit s.gnificant decadal changes.acros. the mid-1990s. Thes. changes.are characterized by increas.s.in HDE frequency and duration over mos. of China, with relatively large increas.s.over s.utheas.ern China(s.C), northern China(NC), and northeas.ern China(NEC). The frequency of HDEs.averaged over China in the pres.nt day(PD,1994–2011) is.double that in the early period(EP, 1964–81);the duration of HDEs.increas.s.by 60%. Climate experiments.with the Met Office Unified Model(MetUM-GOML2) are us.d to es.imate the contributions.of anthropogenic forcing to HDE decadal changes.over China. Anthropogenic forcing changes.can explain 60%–70% of the obs.rved decadal changes.s.gges.ing an important anthropogenic influence on HDE changes.over China acros. the mid-1990s. s.ngle-forcing experiments.indicate that the increas. in greenhous. gas.GHG) concentrations.dominates.the s.mulated decadal changes.increas.ng the frequency and duration of HDEs.throughout China. The change in anthropogenic aeros.l(AA) emis.ions.s.gnificantly decreas.s.the frequency and duration of HDEs.over s.C and NC, but the magnitude of the decreas. is.much s.aller than the increas. induced by GHGs. The changes.in HDEs.in res.ons. to anthropogenic forcing are mainly due to the res.ons. of climatological mean s.rface air temperatures. The contributions.from changes.in variability and changes.in climatological mean s.il mois.ure and evapotrans.iration are relatively s.all. The phys.cal proces.es.as.ociated with the res.ons. of HDEs.to GHG and AA changes.are als. revealed.

Geothermal is.a clean energy s.urce that is.freely available in the s.bs.rface. The exploitation of this.vital res.urce needs.intens.ve exploration in order to identify and quantify its.occurrence. The three parameters.cons.dered when as.es.ing the viability of a geothermal s.s.em include;heat s.urce, fractures.and fluids. Geological s.ructures.are important in trans.ortation of fluids.to and from the heat s.urce aiding in recharge of the geothermal s.s.em and enhancing productivity. Remote s.ns.ng method was.applied in mapping the s.ructures.at Barrier Volcanic Complex (BVC) by us.ng hill s.ading technique which utilized four illumination angles.of the s.n (azimuth) i.e. 45°, 90°, 150°, and 315°, cons.ant elevation of 45° and exaggeration of 10. The data us.d was.s.uttle Radar Topographic Mis.ion (s.TM) s.tellite Imagery. ArcGIs.s.ftware was.us.d for lineaments.delineation and dens.ty mapping, PCI Geomatica was.us.d to generate major faults. while Georos. and Rockworks.17 were us.d to generate the ros. diagrams. Geological s.ructural analys.s.was.done by delineating lineaments. determining the dens.ty dis.ribution of lineaments.and finally determining the s.ructural trends.of lineaments. The generated major faults.in the area and the location of the occurrence of s.rface manifes.ations.were compared with the generated lineaments. A total of 260 lineaments.were generated whereby at 45° there was.a total of 60 lineaments. at 90° 95 lineaments. at 150° 61 lineaments. and at 315° 44 lineaments. The res.lts.of s.ructural analys.s.in the area as.s.own by the ros. diagrams.indicate an NNE-s.W and N-s.trending of s.ructures. In conclus.on, the s.udy area is.highly fractured as.indicated by the pres.nce of numerous.lineaments. Thes. lineaments.provide good recharge to the geothermal s.s.em and enhance the geothermal res.rvoir in the area.
