Capturing elaborated flow structures and phenomena is required for well-solved numerical *** finite difference methods allow simple discretization of mesh and model ***,they need simpler meshes,e.g.,*** inverse Lax-Wendroff(ILW)procedure can handle complex geometries for rectangular ***-resolution and high-order methods can capture elaborated flow structures and *** also have strong mathematical and physical backgrounds,such as positivity-preserving,jump conditions,and wave propagation *** perceive an effort toward direct numerical simulation,for instance,regarding weighted essentially non-oscillatory(WENO)***,we propose to solve a challenging engineering application without turbulence *** aim to verify and validate recent high-resolution and high-order *** check the solver accuracy,we solved vortex and Couette ***,we solved inviscid and viscous nozzle flows for a conical *** employed the finite difference method,positivity-preserving Lax-Friedrichs splitting,high-resolution viscous terms discretization,fifth-order multi-resolution WENO,ILW,and third-order strong stability preserving *** showed the solver is high-order and captured elaborated flow structures and *** can see oblique shocks in both nozzle *** the viscous flow,we also captured a free-shock separation,recirculation,entrainment region,Mach disk,and the diamond-shaped pattern of nozzle flows.

Carbon capture,utilization and storage(CCUS) is widely recognized as a vital strategy for mitigating the impact of human induced climate *** various CO_(2) adsorbents,intermediate-temperature solid adsorbents have garnered significant attention due to their potential applications in hydrogen utilization,specifically in the water gas shift,steam reforming and gasification *** processes are crucial for achieving carbon *** laboratory-level studies have showcased the high adsorption capacity of these materials via various synthesis and modification methods,their practical application in complex industrial environments remains challenging,impeding the commercialization *** review aims to critically summarize the recent research progress made in intermediatetemperature(200-400℃) solid CO_(2) adsorbents,particularly focusing on indicators such as cyclability,gas selectivity,and formability,which play vital roles in industrial application ***,we provide an overview of laboratory-level advanced technologies specifically tailored for industrial ***,we highlight several industrial-ready advanced technologies that can pave the way for overcoming the challenges associated with large-scale *** insights provided by this review aim to assist researchers in identifying the most relevant research directions for industrial *** promoting advances in the application of solid adsorbents,we strive to facilitate the ultimate goal of achieving carbon neutrality.

Background Hypertension(HTN)involves genetic variability in the renin-angiotensin system and influences antihypertensive *** previously reported that angiotensinogen(AGT)messenger rNA(mrNA)is endogenously bound by mir-122-5p and rs699 A>G decreases reporter mrNA in the microrNA functional-assay *** AGT promoter variant rs5051 C>T is in linkage disequilibrium(LD)with rs699 A>G and increases AGT *** independent effect of these variants is understudied due to their LD therefore we aimed to test the hypothesis that increased AGT by rs5051 C>T counterbalances AGT decreased by rs699 A>G,and when these variants occur independently,it translates to HTN-related *** We used in silico,in vitro,in vivo,and retrospective models to test this *** In silico,rs699 A>G is predicted to increase mir-122-5p binding affinity by 3%.Mir-eCLIP results show rs699 is 40–45 nucleotides from the strongest microrNA-binding site in the AGT ***,rs699 A>G increases AGT mrNA in an AGT-plasmid-cDNA HepG2 expression ***-Tissue Expression(GTEx)and UK Biobank analyses demonstrate liver AGT expression and HTN phenotypes are not different when rs699 A>G occurs independently from rs5051 C>***,GTEx and the in vitro experiments suggest rs699 A>G confers cell-type-specific effects on AGT mrNA abundance,and suggest paracrine renal renin-angiotensin-system perturbations could mediate the rs699 A>G associations with *** We found that rs5051 C>T and rs699 A>G significantly associate with systolic blood pressure in Black participants in the UK Biobank,demonstrating a fourfold larger effect than in White *** studies are warranted to determine if altered antihypertensive response in Black individuals might be due to rs5051 C>T or rs699 A>*** like this will help clinicians move beyond the use of race as a surrogate for genotype.

The combination of hydrogen/deuterium(H/D)formaldehyde-based isotopic methyl labeling with solid-phase extraction and high-performance liquid chromatography–high resolution mass spectrometry(HPLC-HrMS)is a powerful analytical solution for nontargeted analysis of trace-level amino-containing chemicals in water *** the huge amount of chemical information generated in HPLC-HrMS analysis,identifying all possible H/Dlabeled amino chemicals presents a significant challenge in data *** address this,we designed a streamlined data processing pipeline that can automatically extract H/D-labeled amino chemicals from the raw HPLC-HrMS data with high accuracy and ***,we developed a cross-correlation algorithm to correct the retention time shift resulting from deuterium isotopic effects,which enables reliable pairing of H-and D-labeled ***,we implemented several bioinformatic solutions to remove false chemical features generated by in-source fragmentation,salt adduction,and natural13C ***,we used a data mining strategy to construct the AMINES library that consists of over 38,000 structure-disjointed primary and secondary amines to facilitate putative compound ***,we integrated these modules into a freely available r program,*** rationale of each module was justified and its performance tested using experimental H/D-labeled chemical standards and authentic water *** further demonstrated the application of HDPairFinder to effectively extract N-containing contaminants,thus enabling the monitoring of changes of primary and secondary N-compounds in authentic water *** is a reliable bioinformatic tool for rapid processing of H/D isotopic methyl labeling-based nontargeted analysis of water samples,and will facilitate a better understanding of N-containing chemical compounds in water.

The locally noncentrosymmetric heavy fermion superconductor Cerh2As2 has attracted considerable interests due to its rich superconducting phases,accompanied by possible quadrupole density wave and pronounced antiferromagnetic *** understand the underlying physics,here we report measurements from highresolution angle-resolved *** results reveal fine splittings of the conduction bands related to the locally noncentrosymmetric structure,as well as a quasi-two-dimensional Fermi surface(FS)with strong 4𝑓*** FS shows signs of nesting with an in-plane vector q1=(π/α,π/α),which is facilitated by the heavy bands nearˉ𝑋arising from the characteristic conduction-X *** FS nesting provides a natural explanation for the observed antiferromagnetic spin fluctuations at(π/α,π/α),which might be the driving force for its unconventional *** experimental results can be reasonably explained by density functional theory plus dynamical mean field theory calculations,which can capture the strong correlation *** study not only provides spectroscopic signature of the key factors underlying the field-induced superconducting transition,but also uncovers the critical role of FS nesting and lattice Kondo effect in the underlying magnetic fluctuations.

Background Carotid endarterectomy(CEA)results in fewer perioperative strokes,but more myocardial infarctions(MI)than carotid artery stenting(CAS).We explored a combined modelling approach that stratifies patients by baseline stroke and *** Baseline registry-based risk models for perioperative stroke and MI were identified via literature *** then selected treatment risk models in the Carotid revascularisation Stenting versus Endarterectomy(CrEST)trial by serially adding covariates(baseline risk,treatment(CEA vs CAS),treatment-risk interaction and age-treatment interaction terms).Treatment risk models were externally validated using data from the Society for Vascular Surgery(SVS)Vascular Quality Initiative(VQI)CEA and carotid stenting registries and treatment models were recalibrated to the SVS-VQI *** net benefit was estimated by summing the predicted stroke and MI risk differences with CEA versus *** Perioperative treatment models had moderate predictiveness(c-statistic 0.69 for stroke and 0.68 for MI)and reasonable calibration across the risk spectrum for both stroke and MI within *** external validation in SVS-VQI,predictiveness was substantially reduced(c-statistic 0.61 for stroke and 0.54 for MI)and models substantially overpredicted *** patients(86.7%)were predicted to have net benefit from CEA in CrEST(97.0%of symptomatic patients vs 75%of asymptomatic patients).Discussion A combined modelling approach that separates risk elements has potential to inform optimal ***,our current approach is not ready for clinical *** data support guidelines that suggest that CEA should be the preferred revascularisation modality in most patients with symptomatic carotid stenosis.

Background:Human embryonic stem cells(hESCs)represent a tremendous resource for cell therapies and the study of human development;however to maintain their undifferentiated state in vitro they routinely require the use of mouse embryonic fibroblast(MEF)feeder-layers and exogenous protein media ***:These well established requirements can be overcome and in this study,it will be demonstrated that phenotypic stability of hESCs can be maintained using a novel,human plasma protein-based hydrogel as an extracellular culture matrix without the use of feeder cell *** were resuspended in human platelet poor plasma(PPP),which was gelled by the addition of calcium containing DMEM-based hESC culture *** and genomic expression of the pluripotency markers OCT4,NANOG and SOX2 were measured using immunohistochemistry and qrT-PCr *** hESC morphology was demonstrated throughout in vitro culture and both viability and phenotypic stability were maintained throughout extended culture,up to 25 ***:PPP-derived hydrogel has demonstrated to be an efficacious alternative to MEF co-culture with its hydrophilicity allowing for this substrate to be delivered via minimally invasive procedures in a liquid phase with polymerization ensuing in *** this provides a novel technique for the study of this unique group of stem cells in either 2D or 3D both in vitro and in vivo.

The sequence of Gidl （a gene for a gibberellin （GA） receptor from rice） was used to identify a putative orthologue from barley. This was expressed in E. coil, and produced a protein that was able to bind GA in vitro with both structural specificity and saturability. Its potential role in GA responses was investigated using barley mutants with reduced GA sensitivity （gsel mutants）. Sixteen different gsel mutants each carried a unique nucleotide substitution in this sequence. In all but one case, these changes resulted in single amino acid substitutions, and, for the remaining mutant, a substitution in the 5＇ untranslated region of the mrNA is proposed to interfere with translation initiation. There was perfect linkage in segregating populations between new mutant alleles and the gsel phenotype, leading to the conclusion that the putative GID1 GA receptor sequence in barley corresponds to the Gsel locus. Determination of endogenous GA contents in one of the mutants revealed enhanced accumulation of bioactive GA1, and a deficit of C20 GA precursors. All of the gsel mutants had reduced sensitivity to exogenous GA3, and to AC94377 （a GA analogue） at concentrations that are normally ＇saturating＇, but, at much higher concentrations, there was often a considerable response. The comparison between barley and rice mutants reveals interesting differences between these two cereal species in GA hormonal physiology.
