The fingerprint identification technology has been developed and applied effectively to security systems in financial transactions,personal information security,national security,and other *** this paper,we proposed the development of a fingerprint identification system based on image processing methods that clarify fingerprint contours,using machine learning methods to increase processing speed and increase the accuracy of the fingerprint identification *** identification system consists of the following main steps:improving image quality and image segmentation to identify the fingerprint area,extracting features,and matching the *** accuracy of the system reached 97.75%on the mixed high-and low-quality fingerprint database.

A photosensitive chaotic oscillator which can be controlled with light illumination under various control voltage levels is *** oscillator consists of a photodiode for the light input,clock switches and capacitors for the sample and hold function,a nonlinear function that creates an adjustable chaos map,and a voltage shifter that adjusts the output voltage for *** optimizing the photodiode sub-circuit by using an available photodiode model in PC-based simulation program with integrated circuit emphasis to obtain a suitable output,the full chaotic circuit is verified with standard 0.6-μm complementary metal oxide semiconductor *** dynamics are analyzed as a function of the light intensity under different control voltage *** time series,frequency spectra,transitions in state spaces,bifurcation diagrams and the largest Lyapunov exponent are improved.

This article aims to propose a finite element formulation based on Quasi-3D theory for the static bending analysis of functionally graded porous(FGP)sandwich *** FGP sandwich plates consist of three layers including the bottom skin of homogeneous metal,the top skin of fully ceramic and the FGP core layer with uneven porosity distribution.A quadrilateral(Q4)element with nine degrees of freedom(DOFs)per node is derived and employed in analyzing the static bending response of the plate under uniform and/or sinusoidally distributed *** accuracy of the present finite element formulation is verified by comparing the obtained numerical results with the published results in the ***,some numerical examples are performed to examine the effects of the parameters including power-law index k and porosity coefficient on the static bending response of rectangular FGP sandwich *** addition,a problem with a complicated L-shape model is conducted to illustrate the superiority of the proposed finite element method.

This study investigated the effect of installing underwater light-emitting diode(LED)lights in different locations(close and distant to the trap entrance)and orientations(normal and upside down direction)inside baited traps targeting snow crab(Chionoecetes opilio)off the coast of Newfoundland and Labrador,*** experimental treatments were evaluated in comparison with traditional baited traps(control).Our results showed each of the experimental treatments produced significantly higher(39%–57%;48%on average)catch per unit effort(CPUE)compared to the control traps,with no significant differences for both legal and sublegal-sized crab among the different experimental *** soak times significantly increased the CPUE of the illuminated traps,but did not affect the catch rate of the control *** results also indicated crab size frequency distributions were independent of experiment *** results suggest that fishing enterprises could improve their catching performance by adding LED lights to their traps,but the location and orientation of the lights appears unimportant.

This paper for first time proposes an isogeometric analysis (IGA) for free vibration response of bi-directional functionally graded (BDFG) rectangular plates in the fluid medium. Material properties of the BDFG plate change in both the thickness and length directions via power-law distributions and Mori-Tanaka model. The governing equation of motion of BDFG plate in the fluid-plate system is formulated basing on Hamilton's principle and the refined quasi three-dimensional (3D) plate theory with improved function f(z). The fluid velocity potential is derived from the boundary conditions of the fluid-plate system and is used to determine the added mass. The discrete system of equations is derived from the Galerkin weak form and numerically analyzed by IGA. The accuracy and reliability of the proposed solutions are verified by comparing the obtained results with those published in the literature. Moreover, the effects of the various parameters such as the interaction boundary condition, geometric parameter, submerged depth of plate, fluid density, fluid level, and the material volume control coefficients on the free vibration behavior of BDFG plate in the fluid medium are investigated in detail. Some major findings regarding the numerical results are withdrawn in conclusions.

Gillnets are the primary fishing gear used to catch Atlantic cod(Gadus morhua)in coastal areas of Newfoundland and Labrador but are known to catch non-target species and produce lower quality fish than live-catch *** purpose of this study was to compare the catch efficiency of collapsible cod pots against gillnets near the Gilbert Bay Marine Protected Area(MPA),Labrador,where a reduction in by-catch is *** showed that one cod pot caught half as much Atlantic cod as a gillnet,and pots had a relatively stable catch rate throughout the sampling period,whereas gillnets caught relatively few fish later in the sampling ***,nearly all fish sampled with pots were caught alive undamaged,whereas most gillnet-caught fish experienced damage or *** a conservation measure pot-fishing would enable fishing within close proximity to the Gilbert Bay MPA and the live-release of visually distinguishable Gilbert Bay cod,thereby mitigating against the negative effects of commercial fishing on this protected Atlantic cod population.

This study develops the approach by Minh & khanh [1] to the classic Barro and Sala-i-Martin method [2], [3] named “expanded Barro regression method”, and applies this approach in analyzing the convergence of provincial per capita GDP in Vietnam over the period of 1991-2007. Different aspects of provincial convergence are considered in this paper. The estimated result on conver-gence from our model is compared to other models.

Homogenization is a promising approach to capture the behavior of complex structures like corrugated panels. It enables us to replace high-cost shell models with stiffness-equivalent orthotropic plate alternatives. Many homogenization models for corrugated panels of different shapes have been proposed. However, there is a lack of investigations for verifying their accuracy and reliability. In addition, in the recent trend of development of smoothed finite element methods, the cell-based smoothed three-node Mindlin plate element (CS-MIN3) based on the first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT) has been proposed and successfully applied to many analyses of plate and shell structures. Thus, this paper further extends the CS-MIN3 by integrating itself with homogenization models to give homogenization methods. In these methods, the equivalent extensional, bending, and transverse shear stiftriess components which constitute the equivalent orthotropic plate models are represented in explicit analytical expressions. Using the results of ANSYS and ABAQUS shell simulations as references, some numerical examples are conducted to verify the accuracy and reliability of the homogenization methods for static analyses of trapezoidally and sinusoidally corrugated panels.
