The effect of radiation on flow and heat transfer over a vertically oscillating porous flat plate embedded in porous medium with oscillating surface temperature is investigated. The analytic solutions of momentum and energy equations are obtained. The velocity and temperature profiles are computed. The frictional force at the plate due to viscosity of fluid is estimated in terms of non dimensional skin friction coefficient and heat convection at the plate is estimated in the form of Nusselt number. The effects of physical parameters Prandtl number Pr, Grashof number Gr, Suction parameter S and radiative parameter R on velocity and temperature profiles are analyzed through graphs. The effects of oscillation on the velocity and temperature profiles are shown through 3-D surface plot.

In this paper,an efficient 8-channel 32Gbps RoF(Radio over Fiber)system incorporating Bessel Filter(8/32 RoFBF)has been demonstrated to reduce the impact of non-linear transmission effects,specifically Four-Wave Mixing(FWM).The simulation results indicate that the proposed 8/32 RoF-BF system provides an optimum result *** spacing(75 GHz),input source power(0 dBm)and number of input channels(8).In comparison with the existing RoF system,the proposed 8/32 RoF-BF system has been validated analytically and it is found that the performance of the proposed system is in close proximity particularly in FWM sideband power reduction of the order of 4 dBm for the 8-channel 32Gbps RoF system.

The 16 April 2016 earthquake in Ecuador exposed the significant weaknesses concerning the methodological designs to compute—from an economic standpoint—the consequences of a natural hazard-related disaster for productive exchanges and the accumulation of capital in *** study addressed one of these challenges with an innovative ex ante model to measure the partial and net short-term effects of a natural hazard-related catastrophe from an interregional perspective,with the 16 April 2016 earthquake serving as a case *** general,the specified and estimated model follows the approach of the extended Miyazawa model,which endogenizes consumption demand in a standard input–output model with the subnational interrelations and resulting *** to the country’s limitations in its regional account records the input–output matrices for each province of Ecuador had to be estimated,which then allowed transactions carried out between any two sectors within or outside a given province to be identified by means of the RAS *** estimations provide evidence that the net short-term impact on the national accounts was not significant,and under some of the simulated scenarios,based on the official information with respect to earthquake management,the impact may even have had a positive effect on the growth of the national product during 2016.

Insect source-sink dynamics are vital to ecologically intensive pest management. Maintaining sink plant hosts,or "trap crops",and destroying alternate hosts or breeding places adjacent to the field crop are effective pest management strategies for some arthropods. However,determining whether a host acts as a source or a sink is challenging, especially when the pest species is highly mobile and polyphagous. The western tarnished plant bug,Lygus hesperus,is highly polyphagous,and can utilize >300 hosts. Its presence has been documented in 26 roadside weed hosts in the Texas High *** studies demonstrated that L. hesperus prefer alfalfa over cotton and several alternate weed hosts.A four-year project involved surveying and sampling for L. hesperus in the agricultural landscapes of several sub-regions of the southwestern United States,including the Texas High Plains. In Texas,geographic information of the landscape vegetation complex was compiled from a 150 km radius in the Texas High Plains. In one study,fifty irrigated cotton fields representing the crop diversity within this region were sampled via sweep-net for 10 weeks. This effort also included sampling of up to six noncotton insect habitats within a 3 km radius of each field. Seasonal average L. hesperus abundance data were regressed with 27 field characteristics( variables),including habitat-specific land cover,distance between focal cotton fields and non-cotton habitats,longitude,latitude,elevation,habitat heterogeneity index,and several environmental / ecological variables. Significant variables were selected using a stepwise regression at 15% probability rate. A 10-parameter linear model explained 93% of the variation in the data. Plant biomass, species diversity and net primary productivity are presented for herb layer of banj oak （Quercus leucotrichophora A. Camus）-chir pine （Pinus roxburghii Sarg.） mixed forest in Kumaun, central Himalaya, India. The species diversity declined from a maximum （3.56） in September to a minimum （2.11） in December. The monthly live shoots biomass exhibited a single peak growth pattern with highest live shoot biomass of 185 g·m^-2 in August. The seasonal pattem showed that the maximum above-ground production （131 g·m^-2） occurred during the rainy season and the minimum （1 g·m^-2） during winter season. The be- low-ground production was maximum during winter season （84 g·m^2） and minimum during summer season （34 g＇m＇2）. The annual net shoot production was 171 g·^2m^-1 and total below-ground production was 165 g·m^2. Of the total input 61% was channeled to above-ground parts and 39% to below-ground parts. Transfer of live shoots to dead shoots compartments and that of dead shoots to litter compartments was 61% and 66%, respectively. The total dry matter disappearance was 61% of the total input within annual cycle. The herb layer showed a net accumulation of organic matter, indicating the seral nature of the community.

Objective:To explore predictive hematological parameters on admission which are associated with mortality in NS1 positive dengue shock syndrome ***:Demographic characteristics,hematological parameters,and the outcome of NS1 positive dengue shock syndrome patients without any comorbidity and coexisting infections were collected from the Intensive Care Unit and the results were compared between the survivor and non-survivor ***:The mean age was(30.77±11.48)years and 56(56.6%)patients were *** of the total 99 patients,72(72.27%)patients were successfully discharged and 27(27.27%)patients eventually succumbed to *** most common hematological finding was thrombocytopenia(95.95%),followed by anemia(52.52%)and decreased mean platelet volume(37.37%).After controlling other variables,logistic regression analysis showed that absolute neutrophil count and mean platelet volume were associated with ***:Total leucocyte count,absolute neutrophil count,and total platelet count are significantly higher,and mean platelet volume is significantly lower in the non-survivor group as compared to the survivor *** neutrophil count and mean platelet volume are predictors associated with mortality.

Anthropometric Markers as a Paradigm for Obesity Risk Assessment

Background: Quantification of obesity/adiposity is feasible with different anthropometric characteristics along with the bioelectrical impedance analysis techniques. Recent advancements are now witnessing development of further computations derived from previously established measures to gauge obesity. Objective: Main aim of our study was to evaluate the association of anthropometric determinants of obesity with body compositional adiposity variables, and thus identifying the best marker among them emerging out as the probable predictor for compositional adiposity. Participants and Setting: 550 female participants within the age of 18 to 23 years were enrolled under this study attending graduation course at University of Delhi. Ethical clearance was received from the institutional head. Informed written consent was taken from every participant. Design: All the body measurements were recorded by trained staff using standard techniques. Derived measurements were calculated further. Analysis: Data, hence, gathered was undertaken for descriptive and infer-ential statistical analysis with SPSS 20.0. Variables Measured and Results: WHR over-estimated the count for those at risk compared to waist circumference and WHtR. Skeletal muscle fat associated negatively with all anthropometric adiposity indicators. BMI, BAI, WHtR and waist circumference related closely with all body composition cum obesity markers compared to WHR, CI and ABSI. BAI overrated the risk for fat determining body composition parameters the most followed by BMI. ABSI revealed an underestimated risk for augmenting fat content in body, compared to other markers. Conclusion and Implications: It is difficult to establish with compliance as to which of the measures used in the study could better predict the perils of obesity but it could be ascertained that some of the newly verified anthropometric adiposity indicators could be administered for determining clinical situations after further validation.
