Experimental Study of Rat Beta Islet Cells Cultured under Simulated Microgravity Conditions

To observe the effects of simulated microgravity on beta islet cell culture, we have compared the survival rates and the insulin levels of the isolated rat islet cells cultured at micro- and normal gravity conditions. The survival rates of the cells cultured were determined by acridine orange-propidium iodide double-staining on day 3, 7 and 14. The morphology of the cells was observed by electron microscopy. Insulin levels were measured by radio immuno assays. Our results show that the cell number cultured under the microgravity condition is significantly higher than that under the routine condition (P<0.01). Some tubular structure shown by transmission electron microscopy, possibly for the transport of nutrients, were formed intercellularly in the microgravity cultured group on day 7. There were also abundant secretion particles and mitochondria in the cytoplasm of the cells. H5N1 avian influenza in china

H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza virus was first detected in a goose in Guangdong Province of china in 1996. Multiple genotypes of H5N1 viruses have been identified from apparently healthy waterfowl since 1999. In the years 2004-2008, over 100 outbreaks in domestic poultry occurred in 23 provinces and caused severe economic damage to the poultry industry in china. Beginning from 2004, a culling plus vaccination strategy has been implemented for the control of epidemics. Since then, over 35420000 poultry have been depopulated, and over 55 billion doses of the different vaccines have been used to control the outbreaks. Although it is logistically impossible to vaccinate every single bird in china due to the large poultry population and the complicated rearing styles, there is no doubt that the increased vaccination coverage has resulted in decreased disease epidemic and environmental virus loading. The experience in china suggests that vaccination has played an important role in the protection of poultry from H5N1 virus infection, the reduction of virus load in the environment, and the prevention of H5N1 virus transmission from poultry to humans.

Bruton’s tyrosine kinase inhibitors(BTKis)have revolutionized the treatment of B-cell ***,safety issues related to the use of BTKis may hinder treatment continuity and further affect clinical efficacy.A comprehensive and systematic expert consensus from a pharmacological perspective is lacking for safety issues associated with BTKi treatment.A multidisciplinary consensus working group was established,comprising 35 members from the fields of hematology,cardiovascular disease,cardio-oncology,clinical pharmacy,and evidencebased *** evidence-based expert consensus was formulated using an evidence-based approach and the Delphi *** Joanna Briggs institute Critical Appraisal(JBI)tool and Grading of Recommendations Assessment,Development,and Evaluation(GRADE)approach were used to rate the quality of evidence and grade the strength of recommendations,*** consensus provides practical recommendations for BTKis medication based on nine aspects within three domains,including the management of common adverse drug events such as bleeding,cardiovascular events,and hematological toxicity,as well as the management of drug-drug interactions and guidance for special *** multidisciplinary expert consensus could contribute to promoting a multi-dimensional,comprehensive and standardized management of BTKis.

Speckle Noise Suppressing Based on a Generalized Parallel Weighted-Average Multidirectional Morphological Filtering Algorithm

In this paper, a generalized parallel weighted-average multidirectional morphological filtering algorithm is presented to suppresing speckle noise. Simulation shows the algorithm can not only effectively suppress speckle noise but also preserve the geometrical features of images. Through comparison, it is proved that the algorithm is superior to F. Safa algoritm.

A research on Investment Casting Technology of Ti Alloys

In this research, the materials and the compositions of the surface slurries were chosen by considering the characteristics of Ti investment casting. The effects of solid-liquid ratios on the properties of the slurry and the effects of baking temperatures on the flexural strength have also been investigated. Flawless shells having smooth inner surface were manufactured with proper technology. Ti and its alloys were melted and poured by water-cooled Cu crucible vacuum induction furnace. The qualities of the investment castings made accordingly were studied and analyzed.

THERMAL PROCESS OF VACUUM FLUXLESS LASER SOLDERING AND ANALYSIS ON SOLDER SPREADING AND WETTING

In order to study the mechanism of vacuum fluxless soldering on the conditions of laser heating, the method of measuring temperature by the thermocouple is used to analyze the spreading and wetting process of both fluxless Sn-Pb solder in the vacuum surroundings and flux Sn-Pb solder on Cu pad. Solder spreading and wetting affected by the soldering thermal process is also discussed according to the thermodynamics principle. Results show that vacuum fluxless soldering demands higher temperature, and the fall of the solder surface tension is the important factor achieving fluxless laser soldering.

Expression of gelatinases and tissue inhibitors of metallo-proteinases in the rhesus monkey(Macaca mulatta) corpus luteum

Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and their tissue inhibitors (TIMPs) are believed to play important roles in the formation and regression of corpus luteum (CL). This study is to investigate the expression of gelatinases (MMP-2, -9) and TIMPs in the rhesus monkey CL in both early and late luteal phases and during the early stages of pregnancy. Ovaries were collected from regularly cycling rhesus monkey at D5 and D15 following ovulation and at D12, D18 and D26 of pregnancy. In situ hybridization revealed that in the CL MMP-2 niRNA was expressed during both formation and regression, while MMP-9 mRNA was mainly localized in the late luteal phase. Reduction of MMP-2, -9 transcripts in the CL was observed during pregnancy. MMP-2 mRNA in the CL reduced to an undetectable level at D26 of pregnancy. TIMP-1 mRNA was highly expressed in the CL in both early and late luteal phases and persisted throughout the early stages of pregnancy. A genetic algorithm (GA)-based method is proposed to solve the nonlinearoptimization problem of minimum zone cylindricity evaluation. First, the background of the problemis introduced. Then the mathematical model and the fitness function are derived from themathematical definition of dimensioning and tolerancing principles. Thirdly with the least squaressolution as the initial values, the whole implementation process of the algorithm is realized inwhich some key techniques, for example, variables representing, population initializing and suchbasic operations as selection, crossover and mutation, are discussed in detail. Finally, examplesare quoted to verify the proposed algorithm. The computation results indicate that the GA-basedoptimization method performs well on cylindricity evaluation. The outstanding advantages concludehigh accuracy, high efficiency and capabilities of solving complicated nonlinear and large spaceproblems.

Tensile and compression properties of Zr-based bulk amorphous alloy at different temperatures

Mechanical properties of the Zr41Ti14Cu12.5Ni10Be22.5 bulk amorphous alloy at different temperatures were investigated. The compression test was carried out on a Gleebe-3200 machine at 345 and 375℃, respectively, in the supercooled liquid region. It is shown that decreasing the compressive rate and increasing temperature have a similar influence trend on the compressive behavior of the bulk amorphous alloy. Room and low temperature tensile strengths were tested on the Instron materials testing system. At low temperature, the tensile strength decreased with decreasing of the testing temperature. Hardness measurement indicated that below the glass transition temperature, the hardness decreased with increasing of the annealing temperature and duration time. It, however, increased when the annealing treatment was performed above the glass transition temperature.
