Introduction: The treatment modalities for Breast cancer may impair the sexual function of women, especially in the pre-menopausal period. Treatment in this group of women has a huge impact in quality of life. The main objective of this study was to evaluate the prevalence of sexual dysfunction (SD) after treatment for breast cancer among women who were premenopausal at the diagnosis of neoplasia. Material and Methods: All women diagnosed with premenopausal breast cancer at one outpatient clinic from March 2019 to September 2020 were selected. Participants answered two sexual function questionnaires (the Female Sexual Function Index [FSFI-19] and Female Sexual Quotient [QS-F]) and a quality of life [QOL] questionnaire [EORTC QLQ-C30]). Sociodemographic and tumor characteristics were also studied. Results:

The quasiharmonic approximation(QHA)in combination with density-functional theory is the main computational method used to calculate thermodynamic properties under arbitrary temperature and pressure *** can predict thermodynamic phase diagrams,elastic properties and temperature-and pressure-dependent equilibrium geometries,all of which are important in various fields of *** main drawbacks of QHAare that it makes spurious predictions for the volume and other properties in the high temperature limit due to its approximate treatment of anharmonicity,and that it is unable to model dynamically stabilized *** this work,we propose an extension to QHA that fixes these problems.

Advanced electron microscopy techniques,including scanning electron microscopes(SEM),scanning transmission electron microscopes(STEM),and transmission electron microscopes(TEM),have revolutionized imaging ***,achieving high-quality experimental images remains a challenge due to various distortions stemming from the instrumentation and external *** distortions,introduced at different stages of imaging,hinder the extraction of reliable quantitative *** this paper,we will discuss the main sources of distortion in TEM and S(T)EM images,develop models to describe them,and propose a method to correct these distortions using a convolutional neural *** validate the effectiveness of our method on a range of simulated and experimental images,demonstrating its ability to significantly enhance the signal-to-noise *** improvement leads to a more reliable extraction of quantitative structural information from the *** summary,our findings offer a robust framework to enhance the quality of electron microscopy images,which in turn supports progress in structural analysis and quantification in materials science and biology.

Objectives:The purpose of this work was to study the infection course and cross-protection in mice after intradermal injection of Vaccinia virus(VACV) strain Western Reserve and three Brazilian VACV strains: Aracatuba,Muriae and BeAn58058 isolated from cow,human and rodent,***:Balb/c mice were inoculated by footpad and back scarification and daily monitored regarding lesion development and weight *** check cross protection after intradermal VACV inoculation,mice were subsequendy infected with different VACV strains and monitored to check lesion *** neutralization assays were performed to check for the presence of antibodies against ***:After VACV intradermal inoculation the lesion development pattern was similar in mice infected with the different virus *** using the footpad scarification model,cross-protection among VACV strains was ***,neutralizing antibodies against Orthopoxvirus were detected in sera from mice infected with all VACV ***:Although it was not possible to observe virulence differences among VACV strains isolated from cow,rodent and human using the murine model,this inoculation route showed to be an appropriated model to study lesions development since it mimics natural infections by VACV in nature.

Brazilian president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva’s visit to China in April 2023 was an opportunity to elevate health cooperation between the two countries to scientific and technological cooperation standards,exemplified by the China-Brazil Earth Resources Satellite(CBERS).The satellite programme can be traced back to the Basic Agreement on Scientific and Technological Cooperation signed by the two nations in 1982(https://***/ccivil03/decreto/1990-1994/***).This framework serves as a reference for health cooperation between Chinese science and health institutions and the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation(Fiocruz),the Brazilian Minister of Health’s core industrial and research facility.

Appropriateness of outpatient gastrointestinal endoscopy in a non-academic hospital

AIM:To assess the appropriate use and the diagnostic yield of upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and colonoscopy in this subgroup of ***:In total,789 consecutive outpatients referred for gastrointestinal(GI) endoscopy [381 for esophagogastroduodenoscopy(EGD) and 408 for colonoscopy] were prospectively enrolled in the *** American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy(ASGE) guidelines were used to assess the relationship between appropriateness and the presence of relevant endoscopic f ***:The overall inappropriate rate was 13.3%.The indications for EGD and colonoscopy were,respectively,appropriate in 82.7% and 82.6% of the exams,uncertain in 5.8% and 2.4% and inappropriate in 11.5% and 15%.The diagnostic yield was signif icant higher forEGDs and colonoscopies judged appropriate and uncertain when compared with those considered inappropriate(EGD:36.6% vs 36.4% vs 11.4%,P = 0.004;Colonoscopy:24.3% vs 20.0% vs 3.3%,P = 0.001).Of the 25 malignant lesions detected,all but one was detected in exams judged appropriate or ***:This study shows a good adherence to ASGE guidelines by the referring physicians and a significant increase of the diagnostic yield in appropriate examinations,namely in detecting neoplastic *** underscores the importance that the appropriateness of the indication assumes in assuring high-quality GI endoscopic procedures.
