background Minimally invasive surgery(MIS)for spontaneous supratentorial intracerebral haemorrhage(ICH)is controversial but may be beneficial if end-of-treatment(EOT)haematoma volume is reduced to≤15 *** explored whether MRI findings of cerebral small vessel disease(CSVD)modify the effect of MIS on long-term *** Prespecified blinded subgroup analysis of 288 subjects with qualified imaging sequences from the phase 3 Minimally Invasive Surgery Plus Alteplase for Intracerebral Haemorrhage Evacuation(MISTIE)*** tested for heterogeneity in the effects of MIS and MIS+EOT volume≤15 mL on the trial’s primary outcome of good versus poor function at 1 year by the presence of single CSVD features and CSVD scores using multivariable *** Of 499 patients enrolled in MISTIE III,288 patients had MRI,149(51.7%)randomised to MIS and 139(48.3%)to standard medical care(SMC).Median(IQR)ICH volume was 42(30–53)*** the full MRI cohort,there was no statistically significant heterogeneity in the effects of MIS versus SMC on 1-year outcomes by any specific CSVD feature or by CSVD scores(all P_(interaction)>0.05).In 94 MIS patients with EOT ICH volume≤15 mL,significant reduction in odds of poor outcome was found with cerebral amyloid angiopathy scorebsence of lacunes(OR,0.37(0.18–0.80);P_(interaction)=0.02)and absence of severe white matter hyperintensities(wMHs)(OR,0.22(0.08–0.58);P_(interaction)=0.03).Conclusions Following successful haematoma reduction by MIS,we found significantly lower odds of poor functional outcome with lower total burden of CSVD in addition to absence of lacunes and severe *** features may have utility for prognostication and patient selection in clinical trials of MIS.

AIM To determine lipid species that change in response to a change in dairy consumption. In addition, to investigate whether dairy associated lipid species are correlated with changes in measures of vascular structure and *** A 12-mo randomised controlled trial was conducted to determine the effect of increased consumption of fruit, vegetables and dairy, compared to usual diet, on measures of vascular structure and function in adults with type 1 and type 2 diabetes(n = 108). Thispaper comprises post-hoc analyses investigating the relationship between dairy intake, serum lipid species and vascular health. Central and peripheral blood pressure, carotid femoral pulse wave velocity, augmentation index, serum lipid species and dietary intake were measured at baseline and 3-mo. Programmed cell death （PCD） is an important and universal process regulating precise death of unwanted cells in eukaryotes. In plants, the existence of PCD has been firmly established for about a decade, and many components shown to be involved in apoptosis/PCD in mammalian systems are found in plant cells undergoing PCD. Here, we review work from our lab demonstrating the involvement of PCD in the self-incompatibility response in Papaver rhoeas pollen. This utilization of PCD as a consequence of a specific pollen-pistil interaction provides a very neat way to destroy unwanted ＇self＇, but not ＇non-self＇ pollen. we discuss recent data providing evidence for SI-induced activation of several caspase-like activities and suggest that an acidification of the cytosol may be a key turning point in the activation of caspase-like proteases executing PCD. we also review data showing the involvement of the actin and microtubule cytoskeletons as well as that of a MAPK in signalling to caspase-mediated PCD. Potential links between these various components in signalling to PCD are discussed. Together, this begins to build a picture of PCD in a single cell system, triggered by a receptor-ligand interaction.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of dietary soluble non-starch polysaccharide(sNSP)content and xylanase supplementation on production performance,egg quality parameters,and nutrient di-gestibility in Hy-line brown layers from 25 to 32 wk of age.A total of 144 Hy-line brown laying hens(25 wk of age)were randomly allocated to 1 of 4 wheat-based dietary treatments in a 2×2 factorial experimental design,with 36 replicates of individual hens per *** diets were formulated to contain either a high or low sNSP level(at 13.3 or 10.8 g/kg)and were supplemented with either 0 or 12,000 bXU/kg exogenous *** were fed these treatment diets for an 8-wk period,and hen production perfor-mance,including daily egg production,average egg weight,daily egg mass,feed conversion ratio and pro-portion of dirty and abnormal eggs were measured at bird age 25 to 28 wk and 29 to 32 *** interaction between sNSP content of the diet and xylanase supplementation was observed on daily egg production from 25 to 28 wk of age(P-0.018);birds fed the high sNSP diet without xylanase had lower egg production than those fed any other *** interaction between the 2 dietary factors was also observed on hen weight gain at 29 to 32 wk of age(P=0.014),with birds fed the low sNSP diet with 12,000 bXU/kg xylanase presenting greater weight gain compared to those fed the high sNSP diet with 12,000 bXU/kg *** intake at 29 to 32 wk of age was reduced by xylanase supplementation(P=0.047).Xylanase supplemen-tation also increased yolk colour score at both 28 and 32 wk of age,and decreased yolk weight at 32 wk of age(P-0.014,0.037 and 0.013,respectively).birds fed the low sNSP diet presented lower protein digestibility(P-0.024)than those fed the high sNSP ***,birds fed high sNSP presented higher shell reflectivity at both 28 and 32 wk of age(P-0.05 and 0.036,respectively).The influence of duration of feeding the treatment diets on egg quality was also
