Proline levels.in infes.ed lea.es.were s.gnifica.tly higher tha. the wa.er s.res.ed lea.es. The pres.nce of lea. with the s.em cutting wa.0}neces.a.y for optima. rooting a.0}defolia.ion dra.0}ica.ly reduced rooting even when the rooting time wa.0}extended from 5 to 10 da.s. The pres.nce of lea. a.s. promoted the levels.of putres.ine three da.s.a.ter the hormone trea.ment jus. a. the time of root emergence.
