Background Following the standardized nomenclature proposed by the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society(ACNS),rhythmic high-amplitude delta activity with superimposed spikes(RHAdS)can be reported as an extreme delta brush(EdB).The clinical implications of similar electrographic patterns being reported as RHAdS versus EdB are important to *** aim to review the electrographic characteristics of RHAdS,evaluate whether RHAdS is seen in other neurological disorders,and identify the similar and unique characteristics between RHAdS and EdB to ultimately determine the most accurate way to differentiate and report these *** believe that the differentiation of RHAdS and EdB is important as there is a vast difference in the diagnostic approach and the medical management of associated underlying *** source We conducted an extensive search on MEdLINE and Pubmed utilizing various combinations of *** for“gamma polymerase and EEG”,or“RHAdS”or“Alpers syndrome and EEG”or“EEG”ANd“Alpers–Huttenlocher syndrome”.Results Three articles were found to be focused on the description of“RHAdS”pattern in Alpers *** publication to date were found when searching for the terms“EdB”ANd“children”,ANd“infant”ANd“adolescent”excluding“encephalitis”and“neonate”.Although RHAdS and EdB appear as similar EEG patterns,meticulous analysis can differentiate *** is not exclusive to patients with Alpers–Huttenlocher syndrome and may manifest in regions beyond the posterior head *** to eye-opening and response to anesthesia can be two other elements that help in the differentiation of these *** RHAdS is not exclusive to patients with AHS and may manifest in regions beyond the posterior head *** to eye-opening and response to anesthesia are features that help in the differentiation of these patterns.

Analysis of Pollutant Load Carrying Capacity of the River Tapi Using QUAL2Kw for Surat City

River Tapi is the prime water body for Surat city, Gujarat, India. On a long stretch of 22.39 km in Surat city (Kamrej to Causeway) of the Tapi river, there are many identified and non-identified discharge points available. Excessive discharge from these points restricts the efficiency of the self-purification process which ultimately degrades the river water quality. In this paper, an attempt has been made to estimate the pollutant load-carrying capacity at different segments of the river Tapi using the QUAL2Kw tool. The study has been undertaken with different scenarios: First, the QUAL2Kw model was trained with available river water quality and hydraulic data of the Tapi river in which the complete river segment was divided into 21 reaches. The model was calibrated and validated with the actual concentrations of the pollutants entering. In the second phase, all the point source, non-point source, and headwater characteristics were considered and the pollutant load-carrying capacity of the river in terms of BOd, ISS, and N-nitrate was found. In the third phase, all the sources of pollutants entering the river have been removed and only headwater characteristics were considered for the study. The results indicate that reach no. 21 (21.23ºN, 72.82ºE) has the maximum load-carrying capacity of Biochemical Oxygen demand (BOd) up to 2057.7 kg/day, Inorganic Suspended Solids (ISS) up to 85633.8 kg/day, and Nitrate (NO3) up to 31688.8 kg/day. However, reach no. 4 has the minimum load carrying capacity of BOd up to 1088.1 kg/day, reach 8 carries a minimum of ISS 205341.6 kg/day and NO3 10215.57 kg/day.

The outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2) has marked the beginning of a new pandemic named coronavirus disease 2019(COVId-19). The World Health Organization has announced it as a health emergency that is of international concern. The disease has been reported to cause respiratory illness, pneumonia and even hinder the immunity of an individual. Individuals with disturbed immune responses have been found to be quite susceptible to this viral infection. Oral cancer patients are also at high risk in this pandemic situation and might encounter severe detrimental outcomes. Angiotensin receptors, documented in studies as the path of entry of this virus, are highly expressed in the epithelial cells of oral mucosa, making the group of individuals with oral cancers even more vulnerable. Extracellular matrix metalloproteinase inducer is another potential target for SARS-CoV-2. An exhaustion of angiotensin converting enzyme 2 cell receptors leads to protumoral effects, whereas a downregulation of extracellular matrix metalloproteinase inducer leads to antitumoral effects. Thus, it causes a variation of the biological behavior of the tumor. This article focusses on the molecular mechanisms, effects and pathophysiology of COVId-19 in oral squamous cell carcinoma patients. The different molecular changes in oral squamous cell carcinoma in the background of COVId-19 will modify various environmental factors for this pathology and have an effect on the carcinogenesis process. Understanding the behavior of the tumor will help plan advanced treatment strategies for oral squamous cell carcinoma patients in the background of COVId-19.

目的:研究印度中部患者的特征和角膜屈光手术(KRS)实践。方法:回顾性研究2017-06/2022-04在印度中部某三级眼科护理中心行KRS的患者410例。记录患者的人口统计学资料,如年龄、性别、居住地(城市或农村)、屈光不正、手术原因、最佳矫正视力、手术类型、术后随访和并发症。结果:410例患者中,324例接受KRS(79.0%)。其中,200例(61.7%)行激光辅助原位角膜磨镶术(LASIK),124例(38.3%)行屈光性角膜切除术(PRK)。研究组最终由179名女性和145名男性组成。患者平均年龄为(25±3.5)岁。大多数患者来自城市地区(n=250,77.2%)。右眼和左眼的平均术前显性屈光度分别为-4.5±2.1和-4.9±2.0。LASIK患者双眼平均手术时间为(15±2)min,PRK患者双眼平均手术时间为(17±3)min。未出现上皮内向生长、皮瓣愈合并发症或感染,且无患者需行增强手术。角膜厚度不理想(n=28,32.6%)是排斥手术最常见的原因。随访1a,3名接受LASIK手术的患者出现回退(-0.5d±1d),屈光度校正分别为-6.75d,-8.5d,-7.0d。结论:LASIK是印度中部人群矫正屈光不正的主要手术。虽然PRK手术的数量很少,但LASIK和PRK都具有良好的视力预后。高度近视选择LASIK时应考虑近视消退。
