Apoptotic and cytostatic actions of maslinic acid in colorectal cancer cells through possible IKK-β inhibition

Objective:To explore the anti-cancer activity of maslinic acid against colorectal cancer(CRC)cell lines and its possible ***:The inhibitory effect of maslinic acid was screened against five CRC cell lines(HT-29,HCT 116,SW480,SW48,and LS 174 T)via 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide *** and cell cycle analyses were carried out using annexinⅤ-FITC/propidium iodide staining and propidium iodide staining,respectively and subjected to fluorescence-activated cell sorting *** expression studies of inhibitor ofκB kinase-β(IKK-β),checkpoint kinase 1(Chk1)and cyclin D1 were conducted using the JESS ***:Maslinic acid exhibited growth inhibitory effect in a doseand time-dependent manner in HT-29 and HCT 116 cell lines.A more prominent apoptosis induced by maslinic acid was observed in HCT 116 cell ***,in HT-29 cell line,maslinic acid induced cell cycle arrest by inhibiting the G1-S transition,which was accompanied by the downregulation of cyclin *** expression of unphosphorylated IKK-βprotein was increased in both(HT-29 and HCT 116)cell lines after maslinic acid ***:Maslinic acid inhibits the growth of HT-29 and HCT 116 cells in a different manner,induces cell cycle arrest in HT-29 cells and causes apoptosis in HCT 116 cells partially via NF-κB pathway inhibition.

Effect of exercise interventions and prophylactic devices on reducing peroneal muscle reaction time by sudden ankle perturbation:A systematic review and meta-analysis

The purpose of this study was to determine whether interventions could improve peroneal reaction time in both healthy and those with injured ankle participants based on a systematic review and *** electronic search of the following database was carried out:MEDLINE,ScienceDirect and SPORTDiscus(1965–2020).Studies utilising sudden ankle inversion to measure peroneal reaction times were selected.28 studies were included for the systematic review,and 18 studies for the *** peroneal reaction time for pre-and post-intervention were compared into two groups,Group 1 was therapeutic exercise intervention,and Group 2 was prophylactic *** results showed a statistically significant difference in reduced peroneal reaction time in favour of participants in the exercise group(SMD=0.74,95%CI[1.09,0.39],p<0.001,I^(2)80%),while the prophylactic devices group showed no significant difference between control and intervention *** effect size measured was 0.81 and 0.31 in Group 1 and Group 2,*** peroneal muscle onset reaction time post-intervention,which was found following therapeutic exercise,should be considered for rehabilitation and preventing of ankle sprain injury.

Using recombinant adhesive proteins as durable and green flame-retardant coatings

Current fire retardants are known to be toxic to humans and our *** environmental-friendly flame retardants(FRs),protein-based flame retardants have been studied extensively recently,even though they are not *** this study,we designed,synthesized and tested a durable protein-based FR through the fusion of the adhesion domain from either mussel foot protein-5(mfp-5)or cellulose-binding domain(CBD)with flame retardant protein(SR protein and alpha casein).We first verified the expression of the recombinant proteins in Escherichia coli using Western ***,we coated the fusion protein(carrying cell lysates)to cotton fabrics and wood and verified with Infrared(IR)*** a vertical burning test and wood flammability test,we confirmed the flame retardancy of the materials after the protein *** the vertical burning test,the SR protein and alpha casein flame retardant proteins with the CBD adhesion domain showed a 50.0%and 43.3%increase in flame *** data is also consistent in the wood flame retardancy *** imaging experiments also suggested these new fire retardants can be preserved on the materials well even after ***,our results showed that flame-retardant proteins with adhesion domains are high potential candidates of green alternative flame retardants.

Renal cell carcinoma(RCC)has emerged as a metabolic disease characterized by dysregulated expression of metabolic *** with metastatic RCC have an unusually poor prognosis and near-universal resistance to all current *** improve RCC treatment and the survival rate of patients with RCC,there is an urgent need to reveal the mechanisms by which metabolic reprogramming regulates aberrant signaling and oncogenic *** an integrated analysis of RCC metabolic pathways,we showed that methylthioadenosine phosphorylase(MTAP)and its substrate methylthioadenosine(MTA)are dysregulated in aggressive RCC.A decrease in MTAP expression was observed in RCC tissues and correlated with higher tumor grade and shorter overall *** manipulation of MTAP demonstrated that MTAP expression inhibits the epithelial-mesenchymal transition,invasion and migration of RCC ***,we found a decrease in the protein methylation level with a concomitant increase in tyrosine phosphorylation after MTAP knockout.A phospho-kinase array screen identified the type 1 insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor(IGF1R)as the candidate with the highest upregulation in tyrosine phosphorylation in response to MTAP *** further demonstrated that IGF1R phosphorylation acts upstream of Src and STAT3 signaling in MTAP-knockout RCC ***1R suppression by a selective inhibitor of IGF1R,linsitinib,impaired the cell migration and invasion capability of MTAP-deleted ***,an increase in linsitinib-mediated cytotoxicity occurred in RCC cells with MTAP *** data suggest that IGF1R signaling is a driver pathway that contributes to the aggressive nature of MTAP-deleted RCC.

Background and Aims:Long non-coding RNA small nucleolar RNA host genes(SNHGs)play a critical role in the occurrence and development of *** this study,we aimed to investigate the role of SNHG4 in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)and its underlining ***:Datasets were acquired from The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)*** 2.0 was used to identify the distribution of SNHG4 in HCC *** expression,Kaplan-Meier survival,microRNA and transcription factor target analyses were performed with the University of Alabama Cancer(UALCAN)Database,Kaplan-Meier Plotter,LinkedOmics,WebGestalt and gene set enrichment analysis,*** Ontology and pathway enrichment analyses and assessment of RNA binding proteins were performed by R software,circlncRNAnet and Encyclopedia of RNA Interactomes(EN-CORI).In addition,CirclncRNAnet and ENCORI were used to find the correlation between SNHG4 and important proteins,while the prognostic value was assessed with the Human Protein Atlas database and Kaplan-Meier ***:Expression of SNHG4 in HCC is higher in HCC tissue than in normal healthy liver tissues and is mainly distributed in the ***4 positively correlated with poor prognosis(p<0.01 for overall survival and recurrence-free survival).Functional enrichment analysis revealed SNHG4 involve-ment with regulation of ribosomal RNA synthesis and the RNA processing and surveillance ***4 is closely associated with miR-154 and miR-206,transcription factor target E2F family and the signaling pathway for MAPK/ERK and mTOR.U2 auxiliary factor 2(U2AF2)showed strong correlation with SNHG4,while low-expression of U2AF2 showed good ***:Based on our find-ings,we infer SNHG4 may play a role in the formation of HCC via regulation of tumor-related pathways.

Temporal Variations of the Frontal and Monsoon Storm Rainfall during the First Rainy Season in South China

The temporal variations in storm rainfall during the first rainy season (FRS) in South China (SC) are investigated in this study. The results show that the inter-annual variations in storm rainfall during the FRS in SC seem to be mainly influenced by the frequency of storm rainfall, while both frequency and intensity affect the inter-decadal variations in the total storm rainfall. Using the definitions for the beginning and ending dates of the FRS, and the onset dates of the summer monsoon in SC, the FRS is further divided into two sub-periods, i.e., the frontal and monsoon rainfall periods. The inter-annual and inter-decadal variations in storm rainfall during these two periods are investigated here. The results reveal a significant out-of-phase correlation between the frontal and monsoon storm rainfall, especially on the inter-decadal timescale, the physical mechanism for which requires further investigation.

＜正＞Three-component photoresists were prepared from hyperbranched polyester, multifunctional acrylate monomers and photoinitiator. The hyperbranched resin had -COOH, -OH and methacryloxy groups on their chain ends. The dried resist on glass substrate showed H- HB pencil hardness. Sensitivity and contrast upon UV exposure were tunable by development solution and the amount of photoinitiator. In a case, high sensitivity with E0 -5.5 mJ/cm2 and high contrast with μ-8were obtained for resist exposed with a mixed UV light and developed with TMAH aqueous. The resist exhibited a unique linear relationship on exposure time with etching depth. This property provided a controlling of surface profile of micro optical elements fabricated with photoresists. Microlens arrays （200×200 μm） were prepared with a moving-mask using this photoresist.
