a.m: To determine the frequency of genetic deletions within the a.oospermia.fa.tors in Egyptia. infertile ma.es. methods: The Yq microdeletions in 33 infertile ma.es with undetecta.le chromosoma. a.oma.ies were exa.ined by mutiplex polymera.e cha.n rea.tion (PCR). Deletions were confirmed using single PCR a.plifica.ions. Results: Four out of the tota. 33 (12 %) men ha. Yq11 microdeletions, thus supporting the a.era.e reported figures in other popula.ions. Three of those 4 ca.es ha. single short ta.dem sequence deletions with discrete histologica. findings of their testes. Single sY272 deletion within a.Fc wa. a.socia.ed with Sertoli cell only syndrome, wherea. a.pa.ient with isola.ed sY84 deletion within a.Fa.ha. imma.ure testicula. structure. The rema.ning ca.e ha. a.la.ge deletion in a.Fa.c a.d short sta.ure. Conclusion: The present study supports the hypothesis tha. the Yqn encompa.ses genetic determina.ts of sta.ure besides genes controlling sperma.ogenesis.

Hea. tra.ma.is one of common injury rela.ed morta.ity a.d morbidity. Blood bioma.kers a.e va.ua.le tools for the identifica.ion a.d cha.a.teriza.ion of initia. injury a.d seconda.y pa.hologica. processes for tra.ma.ic bra.n injury (TBI). This study eva.ua.ed the performa.ce of a.recently developed visfa.in a.d its correla.ion with other blood circula.ing bioma.kers tha. reflect specific pa.hologica. mecha.isms including neuro infla.ma.ory, neuron injury a.d oxida.ive da.a.e in modera.e to severe TBI pa.ients. Periphera. blood wa. ta.en from TBI pa.ients (n = 78) a. hospita. a.mission, ma.imum 6 hours post-injury. Severity a.d neurologica. outcome were a.sessed using the Gla.gow Coma.Sca.e (GCS) a.d blood level of: visfa.in, neuron specific enola.e (NSE), ma.ondia.dehyde (mDa., superoxide dismuta.e (SOD) a.d gluta.hione (GSH). Concentra.ions of visfa.in (28 ± 1.68 μg/L, 25 ± 2.09 μg/L) wa. significa.tly higher (p a.d modera.e groups of TBI pa.ients respectively compa.ed to control group (7.62 ± 0.87 μg/L), NSE concentra.ions a.so were significa.tly higher (p a.ients (20.47 ± 3 ng/ml, 13.49 ± 2.66 ng/ml) compa.ed to control group (4.3 ± 0.52 ng/ml), mDa.wa. significa.tly eleva.ed (p a.ients group (6.88 ± 0.58 μmol/L) compa.ed to control group (5.12 ± 0.76 μmol/L), while SOD (245.12 ± 24.2 U/L, 276.097 ± 30.8 U/L) a.d GSH (112.07 ± 2.09 μmol/L, 119.26 ± 2.7 μmol/L) were highly significa.tly decrea.ed (p a.ients compa.ed to control group (304.17 ± 27.17 U/L a.d 151.64 ± 9.9 μmol/L) respectively. Visfa.in wa. positively correla.ed with NSE a.d mDa. while there wa. nega.ive correla.ion with SOD a.d GSH. In conclusion blood level of visfa.in in correla.ion with other blood bioma.kers ca. be used for prediction of severity of TBI ca.es.

New series of oxova.a.ium (IV) complexes isola.ed from 2,4,6-tris-(2-pyridyl)-1,3,5-tria.ine (L1) a.e incorpora.ed a.d portra.ed using spectroscopic (IR, UV-Vis, ESR, ma.s spectrometric), ma.netic moment, therma. a.d cyclic volta.metry mea.urements. The results demonstra.e tha. L1 a.ts in va.ious styles of chela.ion with [V3O3(L1)(SO4)3(EtOH)1/2(H2O)3/2] 1), [VO(L1)(2,4-penta.iona.e)]·Cl·4HCl 2), [V2O2(L1)(SO4)2(EtOH)5/2] 3), [V2O2(L1)(SO4)2(EtOH)3/2(H2O)1/2] 4), [VO(L1)SO4 (H2O)3/2]·2.5H2O 5) a.d [V2O2(L1)(SO4)2(H2O)]·H2O 6). The va.ues of ma.netic moments a.d spectra. studies suggest a.squa.e-pyra.ida. geometry a.ound the V (IV) ion for a.l complexes. The mola. conducta.ce va.ues suggest tha. the complexes a.e non-electrolyte, except the [VO(L1) (2,4-penta.iona.e)] Cl·4HCl. molecula. modeling ca.cula.es the bond length, bond a.gle, chemica. rea.tivity, energy components (Kca./mol) a.d binding energy (Kca./mol) for the isola.ed complexes. The in vitro a.tiba.teria. studies of these complexes screened a.a.nst pa.hogenic ba.teria.prove them a. growth inhibiting a.ents. a.titumor a.tivity is ca.ried out in vitro on huma. ma.ma.y gla.d (brea.t) mCF-7 a.d cervica. ca.cer cell-HeLa.ha. shown tha. [VO(L1)SO4(H2O)3/2]·2.5 H2O a.d [VO(L1)(2,4-penta.iona.e)] Cl·4HCl complexes displa. the highest powerful a.tivity between a.l of the investiga.ed complexes.

This resea.ch wa. conducted in the Qa.sim region, Kingdom of Sa.di a.a.ia. The goa. of this resea.ch is to determine the percenta.e of silicon in the Rub a.-Kha.i desert. Sa.ples were collected from four cities loca.ed in the a.-Qa.sim Region of Sa.di a.a.ia.(Uyun a.-Ja.a. a.-Fuwa.liq, a.-Sula.biya. a.d a.-Qa.a.a., from three distinct depths (the ea.th’s surfa.e, 50 cm, a.d 100 cm). The percenta.es of silicon in these pla.es va.y between the highest va.ue for silicon dioxide, which is 74.47 m/m%, a.d 34.8 m/m% for silicon in a.-Qa.a.a.city a. a.depth of 100 cm. We used a. x-ra. fluorescence (XRF) instrument to eva.ua.e the sa.ples. There a.e high percenta.e of both silica.a.d silicon in the Na.ud desert. Studies ha.e shown tha. these ra.ios ca. help investors benefit from a. element of Silicon a.d silicon dioxide, so the sa.ds of the Na.ud desert is sufficient for extra.ting Silicon a.d silica.in huge qua.tities. This ma. tra.sform the Kingdom into a.lea.ing country in the globa. computer technology industry tha. depends on silicon extra.ted from the desert sa.ds, the most importa.t of which a.e microcomputer da.a.processing devices.

Introduction: There is growing evidence tha. genetic a.d environmenta. fa.tors pla. a. importa.t role in the development a.d progression of non-a.coholic fa.ty liver disea.e (Na.LD). We investiga.ed the a.socia.ion of single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) rs738409 in PNPLa. gene a.d TNF-α G238a.polymorphism with the development a.d severity of Na.LD in a. overweight a.d obese Egyptia. popula.ion. ma.eria. a.d methods: 100 overweight a.d obese pa.ients with Na.LD a.d 30 control subjects were enrolled. a.l Na.LD pa.ients underwent a.confirma.ory biopsy. La.ora.ory investiga.ions included fa.ting pla.ma.glucose, kidney a.d liver function tests, liver enzymes, lipid profile a.d hepa.itis ma.kers. a.domina. ultra.ound wa. performed a.d a.l subjects were genotyped for (rs738409) PNPLa. a.d (rs361525) TNF-α gene polymorphisms using polymera.e cha.n rea.tion a.d restriction fra.ment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP). Results: The homozygous GG genotype of the PNPLa. wa. most frequent a.ong pa.ients with Na.H (26%) a. compa.ed to borderline Na.H (20.5%) a.d simple stea.osis (20%). Higher serum levels of tra.sa.ina.es were observed in Na.LD pa.ients a.d controls who were ca.riers of the G a.lele of rs738409, but this wa. not sta.istica.ly significa.t. Rega.ding the TNF-α G238a.SNP;the frequency of the a.a.lele wa. significa.tly higher in Na.LD pa.ients (20%) compa.ed to controls (5%) (p va.ue = 0.006). The highest TNF G a.lele frequency wa. observed in the Na.H group (88%) a.d this wa. sta.istica.ly significa.t (p va.ue = 0.009). Conclusion: Our study confirmed the a.socia.ion of the PNPLa. (rs738409) a.d TNF-α promoter region G238a.polymorphisms with susceptibility to Na.LD a.d its progression.

In the Tunisia. a.id zones, where the soils a.e sa.dy a.d very poor in orga.ic a.d minera. ma.ters, wind erosion process is very a.tive a.d triggered the depa.ture of the thinnest elements of the soil a.d the a.pa.ition of dune building. Fa.ing to these situa.ions, ma.y simple a.d efficient pra.tices for comba.ing desertifica.ion ha. been tested since ma.y yea.s in the Tunisia. a.id zones. The mulching of the olive mill wa.tewa.ers is one of these techniques. Otherwise, a. olive mill wa.tewa.ers spra. experimenta. device, with these respective doses of 50 m3/ha. 100 m3/ha.a.d 200 m3/ha.next to a.witness pa.cel without OmW, ha. been putted in pla.e since 1995 in the Cha.ma.h-Za.zis, Tunisia. The mulching of the OmW, in the southern Tunisia. regions constitutes a. interesting a.terna.ive for the controlled a.d ra.iona. eva.ua.ion of this polluting sewa.e on the one ha.d a.d for the soil cohesion improvement by：（i） the increa.e of the orga.ic ma.ter ra.e which ra.sed, in proportion to the dose, from 0.06% to 1.27% a.ter 10 yea.s of OmW mulching, a.d （ii） the improvement of the soil structura. sta.ility or ~＇the mea. weight dia.eter＂ where the a.grega.ion ra.e superior to 2 mm is increa.ed until 34% with the dose of 200 m3/ha. Therefore, tha. trea.ment will bind the sa.d pa.ticles a.d thereof control of sa.dstorms is ga.ned. Indeed, the results in wind tunnel tests on the soil trea.ed with these different doses of OmW showed tha. the threshold friction velocity u,t wa. ra.sed from 8.5 m/s to 12 m/s for 50 m3/ha.a.d 200 m3/ha. respectively.

a.m： To a.cess beta.endorphin levels in serum a. well a. semina. pla.ma.in different infertile ma.e groups. methods： Beta.endorphin wa. estima.ed in the serum a.d semina. pla.ma.by enzyme-linked immunosorbent a.sa. （ELISa. method in 80 infertile men equa.ly divided into four groups： non-obstructive a.oospermia.（NOa., obstructive a.oospermia.（Oa., congenita. bila.era. a.sent va. deferens （CBVa.） a.d a.thenozoospermia. The results were compa.ed to those of 20 normozoospermic proven fertile men. Results： There wa. a.decrea.e in the mea. levels of beta.ndorphin in the semina. pla.ma.of a.l successive infertile groups （mea. ± SD： NOa.51.30 ± 27.37, Oa.51.88 ± 9.47, CBa.D 20.36 ± 13.39, a.thenozoospermia.49.26 ± 12.49 pg/mL, respectively） compa.ed to the normozoospermic fertile control （87.23 ± 29.55 pg/mL）. This rela.ion wa. not present in mea. serum level of beta.endorphin between four infertile groups （51.09 ± 14.71, 49.76 ± 12.4, 33.96 ± 7.2, 69.1 ± 16.57 pg/mL, respectively） a.d the fertile control group （49.26 ± 31.32 pg/mL）. The CBVa. group showed the lowest semina. pla.ma.mea. level of beta.endorphin. Testicula. contribution of semina. beta.endorphin wa. estima.ed to be a.proxima.ely 40%. Semina. beta.endorphin showed significa.t correla.ion with the sperm concentra.ion （r = 0.699, P = 0.0188） a.d nonsignifica.t correla.ion with its serum level （r = 0.375, P = 0.185） or with the sperm motility percenta.e （r = 0.470, P = 0.899）. Conclusion： The estima.ion of beta.endorphin a.one is not conclusive to eva.ua.e ma.e reproduction a. there a.e ma.y other opia.es a.ting a. the hypotha.a.ic pituita.y gona.a. a.is.
