modern advances in pure mathematics and particularly in transfinite set theory have introduced into the fundamentals of theoretical physics many novel concepts and devices such as fractal quasi manifolds with non-integer (Hausdorff) dimension for its geometry as well as infinite dimensional wild topology and non classical fuzzy logic. In the present work transfinite fractal sets and fuzzy logic are combined to enable the introduction of a new theory termed fractal logic to the foundation of high energy particle physics. This leads naturally to a new look at quantum gravity. In particular we will show that to understand and develop quantum gravity we have to bring various fields together, particularly fractals and nonlinear dynamics as well as sphere packing, fuzzy set theory, number theory and quantum entanglement and irrationally q-deformed algebra.

Background: Obstetric sonography is one of the prenatal tests offered to most pregnant women and an essential tool that helps health care providers to establish fetal condition and growth. The Objective: to assess the knowledge, attitudes, and practice about obstetric sonography among women at KAUH in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted during 2018-2019 among 367 women. It included all women that attend the OB/GYN outpatient clinic at KAUH in Jeddah. The data was collected through interviewing questionnaire. The questionnaire consisted of 5 items to assess their knowledge, attitude, practice, and sociodemographic characteristics. Data were entered into a Microsoft Excel 2014 sheet, and statistical analysis was performed using IBM SPSS Statistics. Result: The mean knowledge score about obstetric sonography was 13.9 ± 1.7, where 343 (93.0%) had good knowledge, and only 26 (7.0%) had poor knowledge. The land spreading of olive mill wastewater (OmW) derived from olive oil production can represent a suitable option to enrich and maintain agriculture soils under south mediterranean climates. Therefore, OmW spreading field may represent a low cost contribution to crop fertilization and soil amendment. The main objective of this study was to investigate the long-term effects of raw OmW application on soil macronutrients and phenolic compounds dynamics. The results showed that regular application of three doses: 50, 100 and 200 m3·ha-1 of OmW for nine successive years increased the soil electrical conductivity significantly (p ≤ 0.05%) with the increase of OmW rates at the depth 0 - 20 cm. The pH variations were not detected after ten months of the spreading date. Furthermore, soil sodium adsorption ratio (SAR) and exchangeable sodium percentage (ESP) values were substantially affected by OmW salinity. The soil organic matter (SOm) increased from 0.068% observed for the control sample to 0.2%, 0.34% and 0.48%, respectively, with the increase of OmW rate in the top layer (0 - 20 cm). The potassium, phosphorus and nitrogen increased gradually with the OmW application dose. The Ca2+ contents on soil decreased with the spreading of OmW rate, as referred to control. In addition, the phenolic compounds variations were not proportional to doses applied and its levels remained high as compared with the control essentially on top layers (0 - 40 cm). This practice should be beneficial to organic farming and is an alternative solution to direct spreading of raw OmW on soil.

A 90-day experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of different dietary linoleic acid （LA; 18：2n-6） and linolenic acid ratios （LNA; 18：3n-3） on growth induces, feed utilization and tissue fatty acid profile of freshwater prawn, macrobrachium rosenbergii post-larvae （PL）. The experiment was conducted in cubic indoor fiberglass tanks, each holding 700 L in triplicate. Post-larvae with an average weight of 20.8 ± 0.20 mg were stocked at 80 PL m2. Five experimental isocaloric （15.06 mJ kgl digestible energy）, and isonitrogenous （30.45% digestible protein） diets were formulated by blending of soybean oil and linseed oil to containing five dietary LA/LNA ratios （7.80, 2.75, 1.28, 0.65 and 0.30）. The highest survival values were recorded for prawn PL fed diet containing 0.65 LA/LAN ratios. Growth indices of PL significantly increased （P 〈 0.05） with decreased dietary LA/LAN ratios to 0.65. The same trend was observed for the highest （P ≤ 0.05） protein efficiency ratio, protein productive value, fat retention, energy retention and best feed conversion ratio. The total whole tissue polyunsaturated fatty acid composition of m. rosenbergii PL was dominated by LA followed by LAN. Post larvae fed the diets containing higher LA/LNA ratios showed a higher tissue LA/LNA ratio. The obtained findings revealed that fatty acid patterns ofm. rosenbergii PL were influenced by fatty acid profiles of diets. The diet containing 0.65 LA/LNA ratio is recommended to obtaining optimum growth performance and feed utilization for m. rosenbergii PL.

Sweet basil (Ocimum basilicum L.) project that is being conducted at the National Oilseed Processing Research Institute (NOPRI) aims at exploiting the genetic diversity and associated phenotypic variation in the investigated basil germplasm and evaluating key factors such as variety, plant ontogeny and plant parts that affect yield, chemical constituents, aroma and flavor of essential oils. This paper discussed the variability inessential oils content and chemical constituents of the aerial plant parts of the basil. An open-air pot experiment was carried out using three accessions provided by Agricultural Research Corporation-Genetic Resources Unit, Sudan. The essential oils were hydro distilled from the aerial parts, flowers, leaves, stems, using Clevenger apparatus. The chemical constituents of the essential oils were determined by Gas Chromatography-mass Spectrometry (GC-mS). As the hydro distillation yielded no oil from the stem, we present only the results for leaves and flowers. The results revealed that the essential oil content varied with a range of 0.29% to 0.33% for flowers and 0.32% to 0.48% for leaves. As usual, the content of essential oils was higher in leaves than in flowers. The Silate-Egyptian accession had the lowest essential oil content obtained from leaves and flowers. However, South Darfur accession from Sudan had the highest oil content but did not significantly differ from Kennana accession. Several oil components were identified based upon comparison of their mass spectral data with those of reference compounds published in literature or stored in a computer library. The combined GC-mS analysis showed that methyl eugenol was the major constituent of the essential oil of Kennana accession. While the major constituent of essential oil of South-Darfur and Silate-Egyptian accessions were germacrene and linalool, respectively.

Portal thrombosis (PT) is a rare condition of heterogeneous etiologies. The aim of our work is to study the epidemiological and etiological profile of portal thrombosis in non cirrhotic patients through the experience of our department. Patients and methods: This is a retrospective study over a 9-year period (January 2009-July 2018), 54 cases of PT in non cirrhotic patients were collected in the department of Hepato-Gastro-Enterology of the HASSAN II Fez Hospital, 73 cases of PT were excluded among cirrhotic patients. Results: We collected 54 cases of PT cases;the average age was 45 years, with an F/m ratio of 1.42. PT was revealed by abdominal pain in 20 cases, complications of portal hypertension in 24 cases, and ultrasound discovery in 10 asymptomatic cases. main underlying causes of PT were: A proteine S deficiency in 7 cases, Acute pancreatitis in 5 cases, colonic cancer in 4 cases, pancreatic cancer in 4 cases, Hydatic liver Echinococcoses (3 cases), anti phospholipid syndrom (3 cases), myeloproliferative syndrom (2 cases) and jak mutation 2 in 1 case, non identified etiology was reported in 20 cases (37%). Treatment was based on anticoagulation, treatment of portal hypertension complications, and etiological treatment in cases where etiological diagnosis was certainly posed. Conclusion: PT is a rare but serious condition, according to our study neoplastic causes are predominant followed by protein S deficiency. Etiological investigations have to be wide and early treatment is the best option to avoid extension and complication.
