Background: Tympanomastoid paragangliomas are usually benign, slowly growing, painless tumors. The common presenting symptoms of this tumor are pulsatile tinnitus and conductive hearing loss. Vertigo as the cardinal or initial symptom is extremely rare, especially in the early stages of the *** presentation: A 53-year-old female patient presented only with intermittent recurrent vertigo and was later found to have a tympanomastoid paraganglioma. Her symptoms disappeared completely after resection of the tumor. This is the first report in literature of a case of tympanomastoid paraganglioma with vertigo as the single ***: The tympanomastoid paraganglioma is rare and its clinical symptoms are nonspecific, so it is easy to be misdiagnosed or missed. It is worth noting that although clinically uncommon, vertigo can also be the first or sole symptom of tympanomastoid paraganglioma. Detailed physical examination and imaging examination of the ear are necessary and should be carried out meticulously.

A simple method was developed to produce the nanocrystalline pure iron by aluminothermic reaction cast- ing. The mierostructure of the iron was investigated by optical microseope （OM）, transmission electron microscope （TEM）, electron probe micro-analyzer （EPMA）, scanning electron microscope （SEM） and X-ray diffraction （XRD）. The mechanical performances of nanoerystalline pure iron were tested. It is found that the pure iron consists of nanoerystalline ferrite. For different substrates of eopper and glass, the average grain size of the ferrite was 38 and 35 nm, respectively, which is larger on copper substrate than that on glass. The hardness, compressive strength, tensile strength, and total elongation are 167 and 137 HB, 400 and 500 MPa, 243 and 185 MPa, 16% and 10% on copper substrate and glass suhstrate, respectively. The hardness, tensile strength and total elongation are all larger on copper substrate than those on glass substrate, while the eompressive strength is lower. The large supercooling in the product solidification provides the condition for high nucleation rate and thus leads to nano-grained austenite and final nano-grained ferrite transformed from those small austenite grains.

Bovine foamy virus(BFV) is a complex retrovirus that infects cattle. Like all retroviruses, BFV encodes a transactivator Tas protein(BTas) that increases gene transcription from viral *** encodes two promoters that can interact with BTas, a conserved promoter in the 5' long terminal repeat(LTR) and a unique internal promoter(IP). Our previous study showed that BTas is acetylated by p300 at residues K66, K109, and K110, which markedly enhanced the ability of BTas to bind to Dna. However, whether these residues are important for BFV replication was not determined. Therefore, in this study we provide direct evidence that BTas is required for BFV replication and demonstrate that residues K66, K109, and K110 are critical for BTas function and BFV replication. Full-length infectious clones were generated, which were BTas deficient or contained lysine to arginine(K→R) mutations at position 66, 109, and/or 110. In vivo data indicated that K→R mutations at positions 66, 109, and 110 in BTas impaired transactivation of both the LTR and IP promoters. In addition, the K→R mutations in full-length infectious clones reduced expression of viral proteins, and the triple mutant and BTas deletion completely abrogated viral replication. Taken together, these results indicate that lysine residues at positions 66, 109, and 110 in the BTas protein are crucial for BFV replication and suggest a potential role for BTas acetylation in regulating the viral life cycle.

The precise mechanism underlying the effects of anti-CD4 antibody and calcium ions(Ca^(2+)) in peanut allergy remains unknown.C3 H/HeJ mice sensitized with peanut protein extract(PPE)were injected with anti-CD4 antibodies for 4 *** with PPE increased the specific immunoglobulin E(IgE),cytokine,histamine,and mMcp-1 levels,upregulated decorin(Dcn)expression,induced Ca^(2+) inflow in the spleen,and augmented the expression of the transcription factors GATA-3 and Foxp3,which resulted in Th2 and Treg cell ***,the Ca^(2+) levels were positively correlated with the histamine,interleukin(IL)-4,IL-5,and IL-13 levels,and negatively correlated with IL-10 ***,administration of anti-CD4 antibodies markedly alleviated allergic symptoms,activated T cells,and reduced Ca^(2+) inflow,cytokine,histamine,mMcp-1,and the IgHG3,CXCLI2,MMP2 and FABP4 *** results indicated that anti-CD4 antibodies can ameliorate PPE-induced allergy,which is probably related to the suppression of Ca^(2+) inflow,and inhibiting histamine,cytokine and IgHG3,CXCL12,MMP2,and FABP4,thus exerting a protective effect against PPEsensitized food allergy.

The principle of dual-energy x-ray grating phase-contrast imaging(DEPCI) is clarified by using the theory of x-ray interference and Fresnel diffraction. A new method of retrieving phase from the two interferograms is proposed for DEPCI,and its feasibility is verified via simulation. Finally, the proposed method applied to DEPCI experiment demonstrates the effectiveness of the method. This paper lays the theoretical foundation for performance optimization of DEPCI and the further integration of DEPCI and computed tomography.

Rtecently a lot of works have been investigating to find the tenuous groups,i.e.,groups with few social interactions and weak relationships among members,for reviewer selection and psycho-educational group ***,the metrics(e.g.,k-triangle,k-line,and k-tenuity)used to measure the tenuity,require a suitable k value to be specified which is difficult for users without background ***,in this paper we formulate the most tenuous group(MTG)query in terms of the group distance and average group distance of a group measuring the tenuity to eliminate the influence of parameter k on the tenuity of the *** address the MTG problem,we first propose an exact algorithm,namely MTGVDIS,which takes priority to selecting those vertices whose vertex distance is large,to generate the result group,and also utilizes effective filtering and pruning *** MTGVDIS is not fast enough,we design an efficient exact algorithm,called MTG-VDGE,which exploits the degree metric to sort the vertexes and proposes a new combination order,namely degree and reverse based branch and bound(DRBB).MTG-VDGE gives priority to those vertices with small *** a large p,we further develop an approximation algorithm,namely MTG-VDLT,which discards candidate attendees with high degree to reduce the number of vertices to be *** experimental results on real datasets manifest that the proposed algorithms outperform existing approaches on both efficiency and group tenuity.

This paper investigated the recovery of rare earth elements(REEs) and aluminum(AI) from the waste slag discharged by FCC catalyst factory(FCC waste slag) via acid leaching and selective *** methods such as ICP-AES, XRF and XRD were applied to obtain experiment data. The maximum leaching efficiency of REEs and Al was achieved at pH value of 1 and with liquid to solid ratio of 4:1,Under such conditions, 91.01%, 92.24% and 94.77% of La, Ce and Al were extracted at 20 ℃ for 2 h from the FCC waste slag, respectively. The SiOcontent in the leaching residue was 88.3%, which can be used as an available silicon resource. The REEs can be precipitated in the form of REEs and sodium double sulfate(naRE(SO)·xHO) by adding naSOto the leaching solution, while Al remained in the solution. Afterwards, the pH value of the filtrate was adjusted to 4.5, and Al was precipitated as AI(OH). Finally,naRE(SO)·xHO and Al(OH)were converted into RECland Al(SO4)solution,respectively, which were recycled to manufacture zeolite. This process recovered REEs and Al from the FCC waste slag and reduced the emissions of waste slag simultaneously, which has an important economic and environment significance.
