In this paper,we study the existence of positive solution for the p-Laplacian equations with frac-tional critical nonlinearity{-Δ)_(p)^(s)u+V(x)|u|^(p-2)u=K(x)f(u)+P(x)|u|p_(s)^(*)-^(2)u,x∈R^(N),u∈Ds,p(RN),where s∈(0,1),p_(s)^(*)=Np/N-sp,N>sp,p>1 and V(x),K(x)are positive continuous functions which vanish at infinity,f is a function with a subcritical growth,and P(x)is bounded,nonnegative continuous function.By using variational method in the weighted spaces,we prove the above problem has at least one positive solution.

To the Editor:Currently,from a pathological point of view,corneal collagen crosslinking(CXL)with riboflavin is the only new therapy for controlling keratoconus progression.Riboflavin,as a photosensitizer,can be activated after the ultraviolet radiation in the cornea and prevent it from damaging intraocular organizations.Therefore,the concentration of riboflavin in the corneal stroma must be maintained at a sufficient level during the treatment.[1]Riboflavin,a type of water-soluble macromolecule,is resistant to permeating the corneal epithelial barrier.Thus,de-epithelial eye-dripping was adopted conventionally with complications such as inevitable pain,long recovery time,potential risk of infection,and so on;transepithelial corneal CXL is increasingly becoming a research hotspot.It is thus critically important to improve the transepithelial penetration of riboflavin.Although iontophoresis was reported,it had a slightly higher effect with no clear mechanism analysis.[2,3,4]Corneal epithelium is lipophilic and hydrophobic,and hydrophilic drugs enter corneal stroma via intercellular pathways.In this study,permeability effects of riboflavin in different solvents into the cornea via iontophoresis were compared,and the changes of corneal epithelial cell layer organizations were analyzed to examine the solvent components that are most beneficial to iontophoresis and investigate the underlying mechanism of the penetration effect.

Constructing 2D/2D face-to-face heterojunctions is believed to be an effective strategy to enhance photocatalytic performance due to the enlarged contact interface and increased surface active sites.Herein,2D porous NiCo oxyphosphide(NiCoOP)was synthesized for the first time and coupled with graphitic carbon nitride(g-C_(3)N_(4))nanosheets to form 2D/2D heterojunctions via an in-situ phosphating method.The optimal 4 wt.%2D/2D NiCoOP/g-C_(3)N_(4)(OPCN)photocatalyst achieves a hydrogen evolution rate of 1.4 mmol·h^(−1)·g^(−1),which is 33 times higher than that of pure g-C_(3)N_(4).The greatly improved photocatalytic performance of the composite photocatalysts could be attributed to the formation of interfacial surface bonding states and sufficient charge transfer channels for accelerating carrier separation and transfer and the porous structure of NiCoOP nanosheets with abundant surface active sites for promoting surface reactions.Amazingly,the 2D/2D OPCN composite photocatalysts also exhibit superior stability during photocatalytic reactions.This study not only designs new noble-metal-free NiCoOP/g-C_(3)N_(4)composite photocatalysts but also provides a new sight in fabricating face-to-face 2D/2D heterojunctions for their application in energy conversion areas.

Brassica species are a global source of nutrients and edible vegetable oil for humans.However,all commercially important Brassica crops underwent a whole-genome triplication event,hindering the development of functional genomics and breeding programs.Fortunately,clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeat(CRISPR)/CRISPR-associated(Cas)technologies,by allowing multiplex and precise genome engineering,have become valuable genome-editing tools and opened up new avenues for biotechnology.Here,we review current progress in the use of CRISPR/Cas technologies with an emphasis on the latest breakthroughs in precise genome editing.We also summarize the application of CRISPR/Cas technologies to Brassica crops for trait improvements.Finally,we discuss the challenges and future directions of these technologies for comprehensive application in Brassica crops.Ongoing advancement in CRISPR/Cas technologies,in combination with other achievements,will play a significant role in the genetic improvement and molecular breeding of Brassica crops.

Heterotrimeric G proteins are involved in multiple cellular processes in eukaryotes by sensing and transducing various signals. G protein signaling in plants is quite different from that in animals, and the mechanisms of plant G protein signaling are still largely unknown. Several recent studies have provided new insights into the mechanisms of G protein signaling in rice grain size and yield control. In this review,we summarize recent advances on the function of G proteins in rice grain size control and discuss the potential genetic and molecular mechanisms of plant G protein signaling.

Accurate determination of the moisture content in maize kernels conduces to screen maize germplasm materials with efficient dehydration.Low-field nuclear magnetic resonance(LF-NMR)single-kernel non-destructive testing technology was used to determine the moisture content at different phase states in the kernels for selected types of maize.The NMR T 2 relaxation inversion spectrum was monitored in maize kernels to determine the variation in the moisture content in different phase states with time.The total water and free water peaked at the filling stage of the maize kernels and then declined to a minimum at physiological maturity.The semi-bound water generally increased to a long-lasting peak in the dough stage and then declined.The bound water increased from kernel formation to maturity and then remained stable.The contents of total water,free water,semi-bound water,and bound water had significant differences among kernel types but not among varieties of the same type.The contents of semi-bound water and free water were linearly correlated with the dehydration rates of the kernels.The results of this study can provide a means for creating new germplasm materials.

All governments face increasingly frequent issues arising from aggregate supply and demand against currency circulation and financial stability,and public finance and banking authorities employ a variety of policy instruments to keep the economy stable and coordinated.How to avoid policy conflicts and maximize effectiveness in policy portfolio of local government borrowing,which is taken as a major macro-control instrument,is a subject that needs in-depth study.This paper probes into local government borrowing’s monetary effect and transmission mechanism and its best synergistic model with monetary policy by the construction of a NK-DSGE model covering financial frictions,multi-period bonds and borrowing rules.The findings are as follows.(1)The shocks of one-percent local government borrowing(bond duration=5 years)push up the money multiplier by 0.39%to produce expansionary monetary effect,and the longer the bond duration,the greater the effect.(2)In the context of physical and financial shocks,monetary policy adopts a moderately tight reverse synergy with local government borrowing,effectively restraining its expansionary monetary effect for better economic stability and recovery.(3)For bonds with longer maturities,raising the risk sensitivity of local government borrowing rules benefits the improvement of welfare.
