This system is designed to pick up sound signals from large volume,low-threshold energy, low-background superheated droplets bubble detectors.A sound-sensitive bubble detector is composed of a container filled with a mixture of superheated droplets and gel,a temperature and pressure control system,and an audio acquisition system attached on the outer surface of the container.The superheated droplets are in a metastable and superheated state at ambient temperature and pressure.When the outside

k standardization of NAA is a single-comparator method,k method is nowadays applied in many nuclear analytical laboratories world-wide.The accuracy and the neutron spectrum independent nature of k factors are the key to the reliability of the analytical results from k-NAA.k values for nuclides with complex activation-decay schemes,mother-daughter decay and metastable states are rarely used and hence have not been sufficiently tested.Considering k values of these short-lived nuclides will be more frequently used in NAA on our high neutron flux China Advanced Research Reactor(CARR)(to be available in 2009),their re-determination is required.

介绍个人剂量仪的工作原理,利用硅半导体光电二极管测量X、γ射线的特性和新颖的软件处理算法设计了一款个人剂量仪。在中国原子能科学研究院国防科技工业电离辐射一级计量站对仪器进行了测试,测试结果:剂量率测量范围(0.1μSv/h^1 Sv/h);剂量率固有误差:-15%^+4.7%;累积剂量固有误差:-11%^+5.7%;角响应:-19%^+4%(垂直方向),-20%^-2%(水平方向);在能量60 ke V^1.332 Me V范围内,相对137Cs的能量响应:-22%^+0.4%;实验测试结果符合国家剂量仪鉴定规程JJG1009-2006的要求。

For fast on-off switch of neutron beams,a chopper(or beam modulator) can be used to separately determine prompt gamma rays in prompt gamma NAA(PGAA) and gamma rays from the decay of product nuclides in NAA with short-lived nuclides as indicators(SLNAA).The use of chopper in SLNAA has the advantages of unmoved sample position,no need of sample transport and transfer,and tuneable irradiation,decay and counting times.Neutron beam modulation is therefore an ideal method for SLNAA with cyclic activation.

Investigation on the explosive welding mechanism of corrosion-resisting alu-minum and stainless steel tubes through finite element simulation and experi-ments

To solve the difficulty in the explosive welding of corrosion-resistant aluminum and stainless steel tubes, three technologies were proposed after investigating the forming mechanism through experiments. Then, a 3D finite element model was established for systematic simulations in the parameter determination. The results show that the transition-layer approach, the coaxial initial assembly of tubes with the top-center-point the detonation, and the systematic study by numerical modeling are the key technologies to make the explosive welding of LF6 aluminum alloy and 1Cr18ni9Ti stainless steel tubes feasible. Numerical simulation shows that radial contraction and slope collision through continuous local plastic deformation are necessary for the good bonding of tubes. Stand-off distances between tubes （D1 and D2） and explosives amount （R） have effect on the plastic deformation, moving velocity, and bonding of tubes. D1 of 1 mm, D2 of 2 mm, and R of 2/3 are suitable for the explosive welding of LF6-L2-1Cr18ni9Ti three-layer tubes. The plastic strain and moving velocity of the flyer tubes in-crease with the increase of stand-off distance. More explosives （R2/3） result in the asymmetrical distribution of plastic strain and non-bonding at the end of detonation on the tubes.

Prompt Gamma Neutron Activation Analysis is a highly sensitive nondestructive analytical method for multielements in materials,which is characteristic of prompt and nondestructive abilities.The applying range and significance of this method are increasing recently.By far,more than 30 labs in the world have established PGNAA facilities.The China advanced research reactor(CARR) will be founded in CIAE,which will provide with maximal neutron flux in Asia,the fifth of the world.By using the high quality neutron beam and the advanced international experience of PGNAA facilities,Prompt Gamma Neutron Activation Analysis facility will be setup at high level.PGNAA on CARR will promote the development of nuclear analysis technology and improve Chinese status in the nuclear analysis field.

The bubble detector(BD) is composed of superheated microscopic liquid droplets dispersed uniformly in an elastic solid polymer.When neutrons pass through a BD,energetic charged particles produced in the BD material by either recoil or nuclear reactions may deposit energy on the superheated droplets,induce their explosion and form visual bubbles.The number of bubbles is a measure of the neutron dose received by the detector.In the preparation of BD,a main precondition for the superheated liquid is to keep in superheated state in room temperature.As for the polymer solid medium,the following requirements must be met:1) it has sufficient elasticity and stable structure throughout the process of "superheated drop-bubble-superheated" transitions;2) it has sufficient transparency for counting the

Glutathione S-transferase genetic polymorphisms and fluoride-induced reproductive toxicity in men with idiopathic infertility

Male infertility caused by idiopathic oligoasthenospermia(OAT)is known as idiopathic male infertility.Glutathione S-transferase(GST)and fluoride may play important roles in idiopathic male infertility,but their effects are still unknown.Our study examined the relationship between GST polymorphisms and fluoride-induced toxicity in idiopathic male infertility and determined the underlying mechanism.Sperm,blood,and urine samples were collected from 560 males.Fluoride levels were measured by a highly selective electrode method,and GST genotypes were identified using polymerase chain reaction(PCR)and PCR-restriction fragment length polymorphism(PCR-RFLP).Semen parameters,DNA fragmentation index(DFI),mitochondrial membrane potential(MMP),and oxidative stress(OS)biomarkers were statistically assessed at the Pnificant in GSTM1(+),GSTT1(+),and GSTP1 wild-type genotypes.Both semen and blood fluoride levels were associated with oxidative stress in idiopathic male infertility patients.Elevated fluoride in semen with the genotypes listed above was linked to reproductive quality in idiopathic male infertility patients.In conclusion,GST polymorphisms and fluorine may have an indicative relationship between reproductive quality and sex hormone levels,and OS participates in the development of idiopathic male infertility.
