Experimental Design of Elastic Solid Medium of Neutron Bubble Detector

摘 要:The bubble detector(BD) is composed of superheated microscopic liquid droplets dispersed uniformly in an elastic solid polymer.When neutrons pass through a BD,energetic charged particles produced in the BD material by either recoil or nuclear reactions may deposit energy on the superheated droplets,induce their explosion and form visual bubbles.The number of bubbles is a measure of the neutron dose received by the detector.In the preparation of BD,a main precondition for the superheated liquid is to keep in superheated state in room temperature.As for the polymer solid medium,the following requirements must be met:1) it has sufficient elasticity and stable structure throughout the process of superheated drop-bubble-superheated transitions;2) it has sufficient transparency for counting the
