背景:全球均有对广泛耐药结核病的文献报道,但对儿童广泛耐药结核病的文献报道非常罕见。目的:报告南非农村地区广泛耐药结核病患儿的特征。设计:在南非共和国图盖拉渡口地区,对2006年1月—2007年12月间登记的经痰培养确诊为广泛耐药结核病的患儿进行了回顾性评估。从患儿病案中获得其人口统计学、临床和微生物学信息。结果:4例6～8岁的儿童为广泛耐药结核病患者。其中2例患儿先前有结核病史。4例患儿均为感染了人类免疫缺陷病毒的孤儿,其中3例在诊断患有广泛耐药结核病之前已接受了高效抗逆转录病毒治疗。在接受标准化抗广泛耐药结核病和高效抗逆转录病毒治疗后,所有患儿的临床表现、影像学均改善,痰培养阴转。其中2例患儿较好地耐受了抗广泛耐药结核病和高效抗逆转录病毒同时治疗。另外2例出现了环丝氨酸相关的神经精神系统不良反应。4例患儿的存活时间均超过24个月,广泛耐药结核病均得到治愈。在诊断为广泛耐药结核病之前,这些患儿在儿科病房的平均住院时间为8个月(5～17个月),包括3个月的住院重叠期。结论:广泛耐药结核病依靠微生物学来确诊,合并艾滋病的广泛耐药结核病患者也能被成功诊断。尽管需要对同时接受两种治疗的潜在交叉毒性开展更多的研究,但本研究显示患儿同时接受抗广泛耐药结核病和高效抗逆转录病毒治疗是可行且有效的。

Enhancement of solubility and mass transfer coefficient of salicylic acid through hydrotropy

This study deals with the effect of hydrotropes on the solubility and mass transfer coefficient of salicylic acid. The solubility and mass transfer studies were performed using the hydrotropes, i.e., sodium acetate, sodium salicylate, citric acid, and urea at concentrations of 0-3.0 mol/L and system temperatures of 303-333 K. It was found that the solubility and mass transfer coefficient of salicylic acid increases with increase in hydrotrope concentration and also with system temperature. All hydrotropes used in this work showed an enhancement in solubility and mass transfer coefficient to different degrees. The maximum enhancement factor values were determined for all hydrotropes used in this study. The highest value was 28.08 for solubility studies and 10.42 for mass transfer studies. The performance of hydrotropes was measured in terms of the Setschenow constant （Ks）. The highest value observed was 0.696.

Background:Hard mineral and acid salt deposits that clump together in concentrated urine are known as kidney stones.A complicated chain of physicochemical events,including hyper saturation,nucleation,growth,aggrega-tion,and retention in the urinary tract,leads to urolithiasis,the third most prevalent urinary tract *** traditional medications and therapies are less successful in treating urolithiasis and frequently cause ***:The present study is focused on evaluating the anti-urolithiasis activities of the polyherbal formulation prepared from Spinacia oleracea *** Coriandrum sativum ***:To evaluating the anti-urolithiasis activities of the polyherbal formulation prepared from *** and *** seeds against oxalate crystals by employing an in vitro inhibition,aggregation,and nucleation assay,employing a spectrophotometer followed by microscopic observation,and further monitored by egg semiperme-able membrane model,using cystone as a standard ***:In the present work,the alkaloids,glycosides,flavonoids,glycosides,phenols,saponins,steroids,tannins,terpenoids,and triterpenoids were found in the extracts of *** and *** in vitro assays in the present study clearly indicated that all the mixture extracts readily prevented crystal nucleation,growth and *** aqueous extract of the mixture inhibited significant inhibitory potential against the crystallization ***:It can be said that the phyto-constituents enriched homemade preparation possibly will be used as a medication for the management of kidney stones by dissolving the oxalate stone in the kidney.

The excitation function of the 58ni(n,p)58Co reaction was measured using the well-established neutron activation technique andγ-ray *** in the energy range of 1.7 to 2.7 MeV were generated using the 7Li(p,n)*** neutron flux was measured using the standard 115In(n,n’)115mIn monitor *** results of the neutron spectrum averaged cross-section of 58ni(n,p)58Co reactions were compared with existing cross-section data available in the EXFOr data library as well as with various evaluated data libraries such as EnDF/B-VIII.0,JEFF-3.3,JEnDL-4.0,and *** calculations were performed using the nuclear reaction code *** nuclear level density(nLD)models were tested,and their results were compared with the present *** nLDs were also obtained through the spectral distribution method(SDM).The cross-section results,along with the absolute errors,were obtained by investigating the uncertainty propagation and using the covariance *** forγ-ray true coincidence summing,low-energy background neutrons,andγ-ray self attenuation were *** experimental cross-section obtained in the present study is consistent with previously published experimental data,evaluated libraries,and theoretical calculations carried out using the TALYS code.

The sensitivity of rat anococcygeus muscle to noradrenaline (nA) was reduced following carbon disulphide (CS2) pretreatment. Preparations incubated in excess Ca++ (4.2 mrnol-L-1) or Zero Ca++ (***-L-1) media showed decrease in sensitivity to nA. reserpinization failed to induce supersensitivity to nA in any Mg+ + concentration in the media. reserpinized tissue in Mg++ free media with EDTA showed increased sensitivity while decreased sensitivity and maximum response to nA in Mg+ + (1.2 mmol-L-1) and excess Mg+ + (3.6mmol-1 ') concentration of the medium. In the presence of EDTA, the inhibition observed with CS2 in excess Mg+ + (3.6m mol-L-1') medium was comparatively much less in both non-reserpinized and reserpinized preparations. In normal Ca++ and its deficient medium decrease in sensitivity to CS2 and the relevant maximum response to nA were observed. In excess Ca + +, the CS2 effect depressed corresponding to its maximal response to nA. Thus CS2 may be inhibiting responses to nA by interfering with Ca+ + utilization.

We present the masses of n baryons up to 3300 MeV. The radial and orbital excited states are determined using hypercentral constituent quark model with the first-order correction. The obtained masses are compared with the experimental results and other theoretical predictions. The regge trajectories are also determined in(n, M^2) and(J, M^2) planes. Moreover, the magnetic moments with J^p =(1^+/2,1^-/2) are calculated. We also calculates the nπ decay width of excited nucleons.

Increasing production and use of various novel plastics products,a low recycling rate,and lack of effective recycling/disposal methods have resulted in an exponential growth in plastic waste accumulation in landfills and in the *** better understand the effects of plastic waste,Life Cycle Analysis(LCA)was done to compare the effects of various production and disposal *** shows the specific effects of the cradle-to-grave or cradle-to-cradle scenarios for landfill,incineration,and mechanical *** analysis clearly indicates that increasing recycling of plastics can significantly save energy and eliminate harmful emissions of various carcinogens and GHGs into the *** recycling increases,the need for virgin-plastic production can be greatly ***,the results of this study may help improve current mechanical recycling processes as well as potential future recycling methods,such as chemical *** about the current recycling/disposal methods for plastics have brought increasing attention to the waste accumulation ***,with the current COVID-19 pandemic,plastic accumulation is expected to increase significantly in the near future.A better understanding of the quantitative effects of the various disposal methods can help guide policies and future research toward effective solutions of the plastic waste problem.
