We consider the existence, both locally and globally in time, as well as the asymptotic behavior of solutions for the Cauchy problem of the sixth-order Boussinesq equation with damping term. Under rather mild conditions on the nonlinear term and initial data, we prove that the above-mentioned problem admits a unique local solution, which can be continued to a global solution, and the problem is globally ***, under certain conditions, we prove that the global solution decays exponentially to zero in the infinite time limit.

Too often anemia is considered a rare or unimportant manifestation in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). However, over the last 10 years a number of studies have been conducted and the most relevant conclusions obtained are: (1) anemia is quite common in IBD; (2) although in many cases anemia parallels the clinical activity of the disease, many patients in remission have anemia, and iron, vitamin B12 and/or folic acid deficiency; (3) anemia, and also iron def iciency without anemia, have important consequences in the clinical status and quality of life of the patient; (4) oral iron can lead to gastrointestinal intolerance and failure of treatment; (5) intravenous iron is an effective and safe way to treat iron deficiency; (6) erythropoietin is needed in a significant number of cases to achieve normal hemoglobin levels. Thus, the clinician caring for IBD patients should have a comprehensive knowledge of anemia, and apply recently published guidelines in clinical practice.

The increasing deployment of Distributed Generation(DG) technologies introduces power quality challenges to the grid, in particular steady state voltage rise at the connection point for DG units. In most distribution networks,control and monitoring of grid parameters is missing, as well as system security is at risk. Smart grid technologies have the capability to realize the real-time measurements and on-load voltage controls. With the steady implementation of smart grid technologies throughout the existing distribution networks, the online voltage control can be achieved ensuring the power quality and voltage levels within the statutory limits. This study presents a methodology for the estimation of voltage profile in a smart distribution network with DG for the online voltage control, taking into account different line X/R ratios and laterals. This method is based on maximum and minimum voltage estimation by remote terminal units(RTUs) placed only at DG connected bus and at capacitor connected bus. Voltage regulation is carried out based on RTUs estimated values. This work is tested on two radial distribution networks with/without DGs and laterals. Comparative results for voltage magnitudes estimated with different methodology are presented. The reported simulation results show that the method presented is capable of estimating the voltage profile along the distribution network with DGs for the online voltage control, considering different line X/R ratios and laterals.

We propose a unique approach for realizing dopingless impact ionization MOS （DL-IMOS） based on the charge plasma concept as a remedy for complex process flow. It uses work-function engineering of electrodes to form charge plasma as surrogate doping. This charge plasma induces a uniform p-region in the source side and an n-region in the drain side on intrinsic silicon film with a thickness less than the intrinsic Debye length. DL-IMOS offers a simple fabrication process flow as it avoids the need of ion implantation, photo masking and complicated thermal budget via annealing devices. The lower thermal budget is required for DL-IMOS fabrication enables its fabrication on single crystal silicon-on-glass substrate realized by wafer scale epitaxial transfer. It is highly immune to process variations, doping control issues and random dopant fluctuations, while retaining the inherent advantages of conventional IMOS. To epitomize the fabrication process flow for the proposed device a virtual fabrication flow is also proposed here. Extensive device simulation of the major device performance metrics such as subthreshold slope, threshold voltage, drain induced current enhancement, and breakdown voltage have been done for a wide range of electrodes work-function. To evaluate the potential applications of the proposed device at circuit level, its mixed mode simulations are also carried out.

We study random and periodic sleep schedules from the point of view of delay in detecting the target. We consider sleep schedules in which a sensor in ＂inactive＂ mode wakes up either randomly or periodically to detect presence of the target within its vicinity resulting into two sleep schedules：（a） random wake-up schedule, and （b） periodic wake-up schedule respectively. Specifically, we analyse and obtain for the random wake-up schedule the expected delay in detection, and the delay, such that with probability p, the delay is less than the computed value. For the periodic wake-up schedule we show that there exists an upper bound on the delay. Further we compute the average value of delay. We have shown that the theoretically computed averages and the upper bounds on the delay match with the simulation results for the random wake-up and periodic wake-up schedules.

Fracture Toughness and Microcracks on natural Apophyllite Crystals

Results on fracture toughness of natural apophyllite crystals when they were subjected to impact were presented. The morphology of the cracks and fracture has been studied. It was found that the crack formation does not show any anisotropic property and remains the same whatever may be the orientation of the crystal. The average values of the fracture toughness K//c and brittleness index, as determined from measurements of crack length, were estimated to be 0.107 g mu m** minus **3**/**2 and 4.19 mu m** minus **1**/**2 respectively for the a(100) plane. The yield strength for a(100), p(111) and C(001) planes of apophyllite crystals for lower loads is 2250, 2160 and 1840 Mpa and for higher loads is 1510, 1600 and 1430 Mpa respectively. The polycrystalline na_(2)SmV_(5)O_(15)(nSV),a new member of the tungsten bronze(TB)family,was prepared by a mixed-oxide *** room-temperature X-ray diffraction(XRD)confirmed the formation of single phase compound with orthorhombic crystal *** scanning electron microscopy(SEM)analysis indicated that the compound has homogeneous micrograph with a uniform distribution of small grains over the entire surface of the *** analysis of impedance spectra of nSV in a low-temperature range(-100℃to 100℃)at different frequencies exhibited interesting electrical properties like the contribution of bulk effect in conduction *** study of imaginary part of the impedance at different temperatures showed existence of relaxation peak with its shift towards higher frequency on increasing *** suggested the presence of frequency and temperature dependent relaxation process in the *** loss peak spectra were found to abide by Arrhenius law with small activation energy of 0.12 *** temperature dependence of AC and DC electrical conductivity(σ_(AC) and σ_(DC))was also obtained.
