Soil nutrient depletion as a result of continuous cultivation with insufficient external nutrient replenishment is a major challenge in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). A trial using the organic and mineral fertilizer was established in the cassava cropping system of the Pissa and Damara areas to address the declining soil fertility. The study aimed to evaluate the effect of cow manure and mineral fertilizer in combination or sole application on soil physico-chemical properties and macronutrients. The experimental trial adopted a randomized complete block design (RCBD) replicated four times. The treatments comprised of;T1 (Control), T2 (Peasant practice), T3 (sole nPk), and T4 (Cow manure + nPk). The data on soil physicochemical analysis was subjected to a one-way analysis of variance in SAS 9.4 and the mean was separated by Tukey’s HSD test at p nged from 4.20 to 4.91;and 4.53 to 5.28 in Pissa and Damara respectively. According to the treatments, a low pH value is observed in T3 (4.13) in the Pissa. Combined use of cow manure and the mineral fertilizer resulted in higher Mg k and n in the Pissa region and higher soil pH in Damara. The use of sole nPk (T3) gave a higher soil carbon and Cn ratio. In the Pissa region the CEC, Cu, Fe, and Zn were higher in the treatments with mineral fertilizer compared to the control. Conclusively, the use of mineral fertilizer and cow manure can be used with optimum rates to improve soil physico-chemical properties on a sustainable basis.

The catalytic proficiency of three MOns for AP thermal decomposition was studied in this work.A chemical co-precipitation method was used for synthesis of MOns(CuZnO,CoZnO,and niZnO)and their characterization carried out by utilizing XRD,FTIR,and *** TGA/DSC technique was employed for the investigation of the catalytic proficiency of MOns on the *** DSC data were used for measuring activation energy of catalyzed AP by using Ozawa,kissinger,and Starink *** MOns were much sensitive for AP decomposition,and the performance of AP decomposition was further *** all the MOns,the CuZnO exhibits higher catalytic action than others and decomposition temperature of AP is descending around 117℃ by *** reduction in the activation energy was noticed after the incorporation of MOns in AP.

BACkGROUnD Mandibular advancement devices(MADs)are used to treat mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea(OSA),but there is a risk that the underlying condition can worsen in the ***,this case report is based on biomimetic oral appliance therapy as an alternative to MADs,which was found to be beneficial in the treatment of a case with severe *** SUMMARY An overnight sleep study was undertaken in a 50-year-old male with excessive daytime sleepiness that lead to a diagnosis of severe OSA as the apnea-hypopnea index(AHI)was found to be 32.8/*** the patient was unable to comply with continuous positive airway pressure therapy and declined surgical intervention,treatment with a MAD was *** 10 years later,another sleep study was performed with no MAD in the mouth,which revealed an AHI of 67.9/*** view of the deterioration in sleep quality,the patient sought alternative treatment and elected on biomimetic oral appliance therapy,using a mandibular repositioning nighttime appliance(mRnA appliance®,Vivos Therapeutics,Inc.,United States).After 10 mo,another sleep study was performed with no device in the patient’s mouth,which revealed an AHI of 11.8/h,a mean oxygen saturation of 94%and a mean oxygen desaturation index of 5.3%while *** analysis of the pre-and post-treatment study models of the upper jaw showed localized size increases of 15%-17%in the premolar regions and 15%-23%in the molar *** In adults with severe OSA that are unable to accept continuous positive airway pressure or surgical treatment,biomimetic oral appliance therapy may be preferable over MADs since biomimetic oral appliance therapy may be able to prevent worsening of sleep parameters by remodeling the nasomaxillary ***-term follow up studies are required to verify these novel findings.

Defective interleukin-6 (IL-6) signaling has been associated with Th2 bias and elevated IgE levels. However, the underlying mechanism by which IL-6 prevents the development of Th2-driven diseases remains unknown. Using a model of house dust mite (HDM)-induced Th2 cell differentiation and allergic airway inflammation, we showed that IL-6 signaling in allergen-specific T cells was required to prevent Th2 cell differentiation and the subsequent IgE response and allergic inflammation. Th2 cell lineage commitment required strong sustained IL-2 signaling. We found that IL-6 turned off IL-2 signaling during early T-cell activation and thus inhibited Th2 priming. Mechanistically, IL-6-driven inhibition of IL-2 signaling in responding T cells was mediated by upregulation of Suppressor Of Cytokine Signaling 3 (SOCS3). This mechanism could be mimicked by pharmacological Janus kinase-1 (JAk1) inhibition. Collectively, our results identify an unrecognized mechanism that prevents the development of unwanted Th2 cell responses and associated diseases and outline potential preventive interventions.

Epoxy resin based Unsaturated poly(ester-amide) resins (UPEAs) can be prepared by many methods but here these were prepared by reported method [1]. These UPEAs were then treated with acrylotl chloride to afford acrylated UPEAs resin (i.e. AUPEAs). Interacting blends of equal proportional AUPEAs and vinyl ester epoxy (VE) resin were prepared. APEAs and AUPEAs were characterized by elemental analysis, molecular weight determined by vapour pressure osmometer and by IR spectral study and by thermogravimetry. The curing of interacting blends was monitored on differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). Based on DSC data in situ glass reinforced composites of the resultant blends have been prepared and characterized for mechanical, electrical and chemical properties. Unreinforced blends were characterized by thermogravimetry (TGA).

Most existing models for predicting bubble size and bubble frequency have been developed for freely bubbling fluidized *** prediction of bubbling behavior in deep fluidized beds,however,has been a challenge due to the higher degree of bubble coalescence and break up,high probability of the slugging regime,partial fluidization,and chaotic behavior in the bubbling *** this work,the bubbling and fluidization behavior of potash particles was investigated in a deep fluidized bed employing a twin-plane electrical capacitance tomography(ECT)*** volume fraction,average bubble velocity,average bubble diameter,and bubble frequency in both bubbling and slugging regimes were measured at two different bed height ratios(H/D=3.5 and H/D=3.78).This work is the first to illustrate a sequential view of bubbles at different superficial gas velocities in a fluidized *** results show that both the bubble diameter and rising velocity increased with increasing the superficial gas velocity for the two bed heights,with larger values observed in the deeper bed compared to the shallower *** values for bubble diameter,bubble rise velocity and bubble frequency from different models are compared with the experimental data obtained from the ECT system in this *** agreement has been achieved between the values predicted by the previous models and the experimental data for the bubble diameter and bubble rise velocity with an average absolute deviation of 16%and 15%for the bed height of 49 cm and 13%and 8%for the bed height of 53 cm,respectively.

We report a case of intravenous(IV) amiodarone drug induced liver injury(DILI).The patient received IV n-acetylcysteine(nAC) which resulted in a rapid improvement in liver *** the specific mechanisms for the pathogenesis of IV amiodaroneDILI and the therapeutic action of IV nAC are both unknown, this case strongly implies at least some *** IV amiodarone is indicated for the treatment of serious cardiac arrhythmias in an intensive care unit setting, some degree of ischemic hepatitis is likely a cofactor in most cases.

Purpose Sled towing has been shown to be an effective method to enhance the physical qualities in youth *** aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of a 6-week sled towing intervention on muscular strength,speed and power in elite youth soccer players of differing maturity *** Seventy-three male elite youth soccer players aged 12-18 years(Pre-Peak Height Velocity[PHV]n = 25;Circa-PHV n = 24;Post-PHV n = 24)from one professional soccer academy participated in this *** assessments(10 m and 30 m),countermovement jump and isometric mid-thigh pull were undertaken before(T1)and after(T2)a 6-week *** training intervention consisted of 6 weeks(2xper week,10 sprints over 20 m distance)of resisted sled towing(linear progression 10%-30%of body mass)during the competitive *** regression models analysed differences between T1 and T2 within each maturity *** There were minimal changes in strength,speed and power(P=0.35-0.80)for each maturity group across the 6-week *** there were changes with greater certainty,they are unlikely to represent real effect due to higher regres-sion to the mean(RTM).Conclusion It appears that a 6-week sled towing training programme with loadings of 10%-30%body mass only maintains physical qualities in elite youth soccer players pre-,circa-,and *** research is required to determine the effectiveness of this training method in long-term athletic development programmes.

Background:This study set out to assess the indications,feasibility,safety,and outcome of early cardiac catheterizations(CC)within 30 days after congenital heart surgery(CHS)in *** and Results:This is a retrospective,single-center case review study of all CC within 30 days after CHS between 1/2010-12/2020.A total of 317(138 diagnostic,179 interventional)CC were performed in 245 patients at a median of 4 days(IQR 13)after *** median age was 3 months(IQR 6),and body weight was 5 kg(IQR 4).A total of 194(61.2%)CC were performed in patients with univentricular *** revealed significant pathologies leading to early redo-surgery in 37 patients(12%).The transcatheter interventions primarily were needed in patients after cavo-pulmonary connection(n=69%,21.8%),right ventricle to pulmonary artery conduit(n=39%,12.3%),and norwood-I surgery(n=34%,10.7%)presenting with hypoxemia,prolonged postoperative course,and suspected arterial stenosis on *** clinical impact of an early postoperative transcatheter intervention for the following clinical course was high in most *** were nine(2.8%)major and 20(6.3%)minor intra-procedural *** factor analysis revealed no difference for the occurrence of complications for patients’age,weight,and time from initial CHS,underlying *** heart disease,or ***:Early CC within 30 days after CHS in children can be performed safely with a high diagnostic and therapeutic *** rate of complications is low,while the therapeutic consequence is relevant.
