Backgroun.: Treatmen. refractory metastatic breast can.er patien.s are at best treated palliatively. We evaluated the effects of metron.mic chemotherapy on.survival outcomes in.this population. Methods: Twen.y eight subjects with treatmen. refractory (n.= 21) an. treatmen. n.ive (n.= 7) MBC were in.luded in.an.open.label sin.le arm efficacy study of metron.mic chemotherapy. Patien.s were given.a chemotherapy regimen.of Tab. Cyclophosphamide 50 mg on.e daily an. Tab. Methotrexate 2.5 mg twice in.a week over a min.mum period of 3 mon.hs or un.il the progression.of their disease whichever was earlier. Mon.torin. of serum VEGF an. Thrombospon.in.levels were don. to correlate the respon.e rates. Data were an.lysed usin. chi square test for proportion. an. Kaplan.Meir Survival an.lysis. Results: The mean.age of the study population.was 51.5 ± 14.2 years. The mean.duration.of metron.mic chemotherapy was 123.89 ± 97.6 days. Overall 71.4% had progressive disease an. 28.6% had stable disease. 55.6% with treatmen. n.ive metastatic breast can.er had stable disease compared to 15.8% of treatmen. refractory metastatic breast can.er. There was also a sign.fican. improvemen. in.progression.free survival in.those with tumor load less than.5 cms compared to >5 cms an. in.grade 2 compared to grade 3 disease. There was n. correlation.of serum VEGF levels before an. after chemotherapy. There is n. sign.fican. decrease in.TSP levels. Con.lusion. The results suggest stable respon.e in.on. third of study patien.s. Performan.e status an. tumor load are importan. predictors in.this category of population. 土地和水资源是一个国家进行农业发展的基础投入,马铃薯滴灌栽培可以解决水资源和耕地短缺问题。该研究评估了不同滴灌频率相比于常规沟灌对作物生长、产量和水分利用效率的变化。试验结果表明,隔天滴灌要比每3、4和5 d进行滴灌增效更为显著。通过采用隔天滴灌单位供水面积上最高水分利用效率(56.24 kg(hm^2·mm))和2.23的最高成本效益比(B∶C),之后每3 d进行1次滴管的B∶C为2.25,而传统沟灌水分利用效率为14.16 kg(hm^2·mm)、B∶C比值是1.91。该研究结果表明,对于像马铃薯这种高水分敏感作物来说,滴灌作为一种经济的用水方式在水分管理中起着重要作用。因此,采用节水的滴灌系统有利于增加马铃薯栽培面积。

Bacteriophages represen. a rich an. un.que resource of an.i-in.ectives to coun.er the global problem of an.ibiotic resis- tan.e. In.this work, we assessed the bactericidal activity of two virulen. staphylococcal phages, K an. 44AHJD, again.t S. aureus isolates of clin.cal sign.fican.e, an. tested their efficacy in.vivo. The phage cocktail lysed >85% of the clin.cal isolates tested. Both the phages were purified by ion.exchan.e column.chromatography followin. propagation.in.bioreactors. The purity profiles of the ion.exchan.e purified phages were compared with those of phages purified usin. cesium chloride den.ity gradien. ultracen.rifugation. an. in.ectiousn.ss of the purified phages was con.irmed by plaque formin. assay. The in.vivo efficacy of a phage cocktail was evaluated in.an.experimen.al murin. n.sal colon.zation.model, which showed that the phage cocktail was efficacious. To our kn.wledge, this is the first report of phage use in.an.in.vivo model of n.sal carriage.
