Academic productivity correlates with industry earnings in foot and ankle fellowship programs in the United States:A retrospective analysis

Investigating Stability Properties for Transition Metal carbonate Precursors Using Universal cluster Expansion Technique(UncLE)as cathodes for Li-Ion Batteries

The universal cluster expansion technique was used in this study to determine the binary phase diagrams for the transition metal carbonate precursors McO3(M:Mn,ni,co).The use of mixed cathode materials in lithium-ion batteries such as nMc(ni,Mn and co)formulations,is a strategic approach to optimize performance,enhance safety and address cost and environmental considerations in the rapidly evolving field of ener.y *** study focuses on the cost issue related to lithium ion batteries by investigating the manganese rich nMc since manganese is more abundant and *** doped MncO3 with nickel and doped MncO3 with cobalt then ran cluster expansion calculations to generate binary *** binary phase diagrams generated indicated that doping MncO3 with nickel favours the Mn-rich side,while doping MncO3 with cobalt favours 50%Mn-rich and 50%*** further extracted the most stable structures from both binary diagrams and determined their electronic,mechanical and vibrational stabilities using DFT(density functional theory)calculations within the LDA(local gradient approximation)with Hubbard parameter(U).The electronic properties revealed that both materials are semiconductors due to their narrow ener.y band gap obtained while the mechanical properties showed that structures are mechanically stable since their necessary conditions for trigonal and triclinic systems were satisfied.

Blood Pressure Profile and Glycemic control of Type 2 Diabetics and Hypertensives at the yalgado Ouedraogo University Hospital: A review of 116 cases

Objective: The association hypertension and diabetes is important. The two pathologies may influence each other. The aim was to study the correlation between glycemic control and blood pressure control and to determine the factors associated with blood pressure control. Methodology: This was a descriptive cross-sectional study with an analytical focus over 7 months. Patients were recruited as outpatients and all underwent ambulatory blood pressure measure, glycated hemoglobin and creatinine measurements, and assessment of compliance with treatment. results: During this period 116 patients were collected. The predominance was female 69%. The mean age of the patients was 62 ± 7 years with a peak between 60 and 70 years. The average age of hypertension was 12 years and that of diabetes 6 1/2 years. The most frequently associated cardiovascular risk factor was a sedentary lifestyle (71.5%) after age. 57.8% of patients were not controlled at the office, with a predominance of systolic hypertension (58.2%). 61.6% of patients were controlled by ambulatory blood pressure measure, a rate of 47.8% of white coat hypertension. Glycemic control was observed in 42.2% of cases and 87% of patients had good renal function (glomerular filter rate ≥ 60 ml/mn). Therapeutic compliance was good in 53.4% of cases and dual therapy was the most used therapeutic modality 44.8% (52 patients) followed by triple therapy. The factors associated with poor blood pressure control were glycemic imbalance, non-compliance and monotherapy. Dual therapy had a protective effect. conclusion: The association of hypertension and type 2 diabetes is frequent. The risk of occurrence increases with age. Ambulatory blood pressure measure is the best method to assess blood pressure control. Optimization of blood pressure control should also include optimization of glycemic control.

The complete and incomplete fusion cross sections for ^(6)Li+^(209)Bi were measured using the in-beamγ-r.y method around the coulomb *** cross sections of(deuteron captured)incomplete fusion(IcF)products were re-quantified experimentally for this reaction *** results reveal that the IcF cross section is equivalent to that of complete fusion(cF)above the coulomb barrier and dominant near or below the coulomb barrier.A theoretical calculation based on the continuum discretized coupled channel(cDcc)method was performed for the aforementioned cF and IcF cross sections;the result is consistent with the *** universal fusion function(UFF)was also compared with the measured cF cross section for different barrier parameters,demonstrating that the cF suppression factor is significantly influenced by the choice of potential,which can reflect both dynamic and static effects of breakup on the fusion process.

Simultaneous removal of critical rare earth elements and chalcogen oxyanions by anaerobic granular sludge

conventional mining of economically and strategically important critical rare earth elements(rEEs)(such as neodymium, lanthanum and dysprosium), and chalcogens(such as selenium and tellurium) are associated with a huge economic and environmental cost. Therefore,the need to recover rEEs as well as chalcogens from different waste streams including wastewaters is becoming urgent. Batch assays on synthetic chalcogen/rEE-laden wastewater showed that the presence of rEEs significantly improved the tellurite removal rate(> 80%) and enhanced selenate removal by 66% ± 10%. Three 3.9 L continuous upflow anaerobic granular sludge bed(UASB) reactors were operated at a hydraulic retention time of 24 h and30 °c. Selenate reduction was achieved with a removal efficiency of ～ 98% with an influent p H of 4.0 for more than 28 days. The effect of rEEs on tellurite removal in the UASB bioreactor could not be clear.y established since a soluble tellurium removal efficiency of more than 98%was observed already before the addition of rEEs at elevated tellurite concentrations. The complete rEE removal in both batch assays and UASB reactors at higher pH (7.0 ± 0.5) was attributed to precipitation, whereas chalcogen oxyanions removal was due to microbial reduction. However, at acidic p H, biosorption was responsible for rEE's removal, and the Se-enriched sludge exhibited a superior rEE's removal efficiency than the non-enriched and Te-enriched sludge.

comparison of Perovskite Systems Based on AFeO_(3)(A=ce,La,y)in cO_(2) Hydrogenation to cO

cO_(2) is the most cost-eff ective and abundant carbon resource,while the reverse water-gas reaction(rWGS)is one of the most eff ective methods of cO_(2) *** work presents a comparative study of rWGS activity for perovskite systems based on AFeO_(3)(where A=ce,La,y).These systems were synthesized by solution combustion synthesis(ScS)with diff erent ratios of fuel(glycine)and oxidizer(φ),diff erent amounts of nH 4 nO_(3),and the addition of alumina or silica as *** techniques,including X-r.y diff raction analysis,thermogravimetric analysis,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIr),scanning electron microscopy,ener.y-dispersive X-r.y spectroscopy,n 2-physisorption,H_(2) temper-ature-programmed reduction,temperature-programmed desorption of H_(2) and cO_(2),raman spectroscopy,and in situ FTIr,were used to relate the physicochemical properties with the catalytic performance of the obtained *** specifi c perovskite-containing system(either bulk or supported)has its own optimalφand nH_(4) nO_(3) amount to achieve the highest yield and dispersion of the perovskite *** all synthesized systems,bulk ScS-derived La-Fe-O systems showed the highest resistance to reducing environments and the easiest hydrogen desorption,outperforming La-Fe-O produced by solgel combustion(SGc).cO_(2) conversion into cO at 600°c for bulk ferrite systems,depending on the A-cation type and preparation method,follows the order La(SGc)ycecS).The diff erences in properties between La-Fe-O obtained by the ScS and SGc methods can be attributed to diff erent ratios of oxygen and lanthanum vacancy contributions,hydroxyl coverage,morphology,and free iron oxide *** situ FTIr data revealed that cO_(2) hydrogenation occurs through formates generated under reaction conditions on the bulk system based on La-Fe-O,obtained by the ScS method.γ-Al_(2)O_(3) improves the dispersion of ceFeO_(3) and LaFeO_(3) phases,the specifi c surface area,and the quant
