As a new concept in materials design,a variety of strategies have been developed to fabricate optical microlens arrays(MLAs)that enable the miniaturization of optical systems on the micro/nanoscale to improve their characteristic performance with unique optical *** this paper,we introduce a cost-effective and facile fabrication process on a large scale up to~15 inches via sequential lithographic methods to produce thin and deformable hexagonally arranged MLAs consisting of polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS).Simple employment of oxygen plasma treatment on the prestrained MLAs effectively harnessed the spontaneous formation of highly uniform nanowrinkled structures all over the surface of the elastomeric *** strain-controlled tunability,unexpected optical diffraction patterns were characterized by the interference combination effect of the microlens and deformable ***,the hierarchically structured MLAs presented here have the potential to produce desirable spatial arrangements,which may provide easily accessible opportunities to realize microlens-based technology by tunable focal lengths for more advanced micro-optical devices and imaging projection elements on unconventional security substrates.

Endoscopic submucosal dissection is an effective treatment modality for early gastric cancer(EGC), though the submucosal fibrosis found in ulcerative EGC is an obstacle for successful treatment. This report presents two cases of ulcerative EGC in two males, 73- and 80-year-old, with severe fibrosis. As endoscopic ultrasonography suggested that the EGCs had invaded the submucosal layer, the endoscopic submucosal tunnel dissection salvage technique was utilized for complete resection of the lesions. Although surgical gastrectomy was originally scheduled, the two patients had severe coronary heart disease, and surgeries were refused because of the risks associated with their heart conditions. The endoscopic submucosal tunnel dissection salvage technique procedures described in these cases were performed under conscious sedation, and were completed within 30 min. The complete en bloc resection of EGC using endoscopic submucosal tunnel dissection salvage technique was possible with a free resection margin, and no other complications were noted during the procedure. This is the first known report concerning the use of the endoscopic submucosal tunnel dissection salvage technique salvage technique for treatment of ulcerative EGC. We demonstrate that endoscopic submucosal tunnel dissection salvage technique it is a feasible method showing several advantages over endoscopic submucosal dissection for cases of EGC with fibrosis.

The experiment was conducted using a total of 1392 one-day-old, Cobb commercial male broilers to investigate the effects of a commercial probiotic addition in diet on growth, the development of the small intestine and microbial populations of broilers. Broilers were randomly allotted by BW to 1 of 6 replicate cages （29 chicks per cage） for each of 8 treatments in a randomized block design involving one factorial arrangement of treatments. Dietary treatments included the basal diet （including corn, soybean, rapeseed, cottonseed meal） added with 100 mg/kg antibiotic, 0%, 0.05%, 0.1%, 0.15%, 0.2%, 0.25% or 0.3%. The experiment last 42 d and divided into the starter period （1-21 d） and the finisher period （22-42 d）. The results showed that there were significant differences in broiler body weight （BW）（P〈0.001）, average daily feed intake （ADFI）（P=0.033）, relative length of the duodenum （P〈0.001）, jejunum （P=0.008）, ileum （P〈0.001） and the populations of lactobacillus （P〈0.001） and coliform （P〈0.001） in the rectum between the probiotics treatments and the control treatment only in the starter period of the trails. No significant differences were observed in intestinal morphology parameters in two periods of the experiment. Our results indicated that the probiotic was able to improve the performance of broiler chickens, and it was better in the starter period to be used than in the finisher period.

Previous reports of a solitary metastatic hepatocellular carcinoma have been rare. Because this tumor has a different treatment modality and prognosis, an accurate differential diagnosis is essential. Here we report a rare case of a solitary chest wall metastasis from unknown primary site of hepatocellular carcinoma. It involves a 51-year-old man who was admitted to our hospital because of a palpable left upper chest wall mass. The mass was resected and pathologic examination confirmed a diagnosis of metastatic hepatocellular carcinoma. Despite our investigation, no evidence was found that indicated the primary origin of the hepatocellular carcinoma. Four months later, the patient was admitted again because of spinal cord compression at the third and fourth thoracic vertebrae. Emergent decompressive laminectomy was performed and microscopic features revealed the same pathology as the initial chest wall mass resected 4 months earlier. After one year, a follow-up abdominal computed tomography （CT） still revealed no evidence of primary hepatocellular carcinoma.

Objective： To investigate the cytoprotective effects of Saeng-kankunbi-tang（生肝健脾汤, SKT）, a herbal prescription consisting of Artemisia capillaris and Alisma canaliculatum, and its underlying mechanism involved. Methods： In mice, blood biochemistry and histopathology were assessed in carbon tetrachloride（CCl4）-induced oxidative hepatic injury in vivo. The animal groups included vehicle-treated control, CCl4, SKT 500 mg/（kg·day） CCl4＋SKT 200 or 500 mg/（kg·day）. In Hep G2 cell, tert-butyl hydroperoxide（t BHP） induced severe oxidative stress and mitochondrial dysfunction in vitro. The cyto-protective effects of SKT were determined by 3-（4,5-dimethylthiazol）-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide（MTT） assay, fluorescence activated cell sorting analysis and western blotting. Results： The administration of SKT prevented liver damage induced by CCl4 in mice, by inhibition of hepatocyte degeneration and inflammatory cell infiltration as well as plasma parameters such as alanine aminotransferase（P〈0.01）. Moreover, treatment with t BHP induced hepatocyte death and cellular reactive oxygen species production in hepatocyte cell line. However, SKT pretreatment（30–300 μg/m L） reduced this cell death and oxidative stress（P〈0.01）. More importantly, SKT inhibited the ability of t BHP to induce changes in mitochondrial membrane transition in cell stained with rhodamine 123（P〈0.01）. Furthermore, treatment with SKT induced extracellular signal-regulated kinases-mediated nuclear factor erythroid-2-related factor 2（Nrf2） activation as well as the expressions of heme oxygenase 1 and glutamate-cystein ligase catalytic, Nrf2 target genes. Conclusion： SKT has the ability to protect hepatocyte against oxidative stress and mitochondrial damage mediated by Nrf2 activation.

Several studies have demonstrated that the Chinese herb Gastrodia elata Blume can protect against amyloid beta-peptide （Ap）-induced cell death. To investigate the possible therapeutic effects of Gastrodia elata Blume on Alzheimer＇s disease, we established a rat model of AIzheimer＇s disease by injecting A325-35 into bilateral hippocampi. These rats were intragastrically administered 500 or 1 000 mg/kg Gastrodia elata Blume per day for 52 consecutive days. Morris water maze tests showed that Gastrodia elata Blume treatment significantly improved the spatial memory of Alzheimer＇s disease rats. Congo red staining revealed that Gastrodia elata Blume significantly reduced the number of amyloid deposits in the hippocampus of these rats. Western blot analysis showed that choline acetyltransferase expression in the medial septum and hippocampus was significantly increased by the treatment of Gastrodia elata Blume, while EIIman method showed significant decrease in the activity of acetylcholinesterase in all three regions （prefrontal cortex, medial septum and hippocampus）. These findings suggest that long-term administration of Gastrodia elata Blume has therapeutic potential for Alzheimer＇s disease.

AIM:To evaluate and compare the clinical outcomes of prophylactic submucosal saline-epinephrine injection and saline injection alone for large colon polyps by conventional polypectomy. METHODS:A prospective study was conducted from July 2003 to July 2004 at 11 tertiary endoscopic centers. Large colon polyps (> 10 mm in diameter) wererandomized to undergo endoscopic polypectomy with submucosal saline-epinephrine injection (epinephrine group) or normal saline injection (saline group). Endoscopic polypectomy was performed by the conventional snare method,and early ( 2 cm) and neoplastic polyps were independently and significantly associated with the presence of PPB. CONCLUSION:The prophylactic submucosal injection of diluted epinephrine does not appear to provide an additional advantage over the saline injection alone for the prevention of PPB.

Rural heritage that involves agricultural heritage could be critical to enhancing community identity through a conservational *** purpose of this research is to develop conservational methods for rural heritage that include agricultural heritage areas through the use of *** conduct the research,we first reviewed the concepts of ecomuseum and rural ***,we defined the concept of the Korean rural ecomuseum by taking into consideration the concept defined by Riviere,Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems（GIAHS）,the rural heritage policy of Europe,and the agricultural heritage systems of ***,we also describe methods that are applicable to Korean rural ecomuseums,which include type classification and ***,we applied the ecomuseum concept to two pilot models in the Cheongsando and Gurae areas,both Korea Important Agricultural Heritage System（KIAHS） *** conclude that it is desirable to expand the range of targets for conservation from agricultural heritage to rural heritage *** this point of view,the rural ecomuseum can be a highly valuable tool that can help preserve agricultural heritage sites and neighboring ***,the ecomuseum can enhance community identities,and strengthen local economies.

长江和黄河以及韩国的Keum和Yeongsan江,具有不同的微量元素地球化学特征。韩国河流沉积物中微量元素含量多介于长江和黄河之间,以Li、Rb和Th较高为特征,粒级效应明显。长江富铁族和铜族元素,黄河则Sr最高,其他元素均低于其他3条河流;韩国河流中Sr主要赋存于长石中,而长江和黄河中则主要赋存于碳酸盐矿物中。根据沉积物中元素的赋存相态及含量,我们认为Ti、Cr/Th、Ti/Nb和Zr/Nb等可以作为判别西太平洋边缘海,尤其是黄海中长江、黄河与韩国河流物质贡献的可靠地球化学参数,但在运用中必须注意粒级效应影响。
