This paper discussed a noise reduction effect of airfoil and small-scale model rotor by using attached serration trailing edge in the wind tunnel test condition. In order to analyze the changes in the performance due to the inclusion of a serrated trailing edge designed to reduce noise, a 10 k W wind turbine rotor was equipped with a thin serrated trailing edge. The restrictive condition for the serrated trailing edge equipped with the using of a 2D airfoil was examined through the using of a wind tunnel experiment after studying existing restrictive condition and analyzing prior research on serrated trailing edges. The aerodynamic performance and noise reduction effect of a small-scale model were investigated with the using of a serrated trailing edge. Moreover, the noise levels from the experiment were considered that the noise prediction method could be used for a full-scale rotor. It is confirmed that noise reduction effect is compared with wind tunnel test data at the 2D airfoil and model rotor condition.

Bone metastasis is a rare event in patients with gastric cancer, but pathologic fracture, paralysis, pain and hematological disorders associated with the bone metastasis may influence the quality of life. We report herein the case of a 53-year-old man who presented with primary remnant gastric cancer with bone metastasis. The patient requested further investigations after detection of a metastatic lesion in the 2 nd lumbar vertebra during evaluation for back pain that had persisted for 3 mo. No other metastatic lesions were detected. He underwent total gastrectomy and palliative metastasectomy to aid in reduction of symptoms, and he received combination chemotherapy with tegafur(S-1) and cisplatin. The patient survived for about 60 mo after surgery. Currently, there is no treatment guideline for gastric cancer with bone metastasis, and we believe that gastrectomy plus metastasectomy may be an effective therapeutic option for improving qualityof life and survival in patients with resectable primary gastric cancer and bone metastasis.

Role of surgical resection for multiple hepatocellular carcinomas

AIM:To clarify the role of surgical resection for multiple hepatocellular carcinomas(HCCs)compared to transarterial chemoembolization(TACE)and liver transplantation(LT). METHODS:Among the HCC patients who were managed at Yonsei University Health System between January 2003 and December 2008,160 patients who met the following criteria were retrospectively enrolled:(1) two or three radiologically diagnosed HCCs;(2)no radiologic vascular invasion;(3)Child-Pugh class A;(4) main tumor smaller than 5 cm in diameter;and(5) platelet count greater than 50 000/***-term outcomes were compared among the following three treatment modalities:surgical resection or combined radiofrequency ablation(RFA)(n=36),TACE(n=107), and LT(n=17).The survival curves were computed using the Kaplan-Meier method and compared with a log-rank *** identify the patients who gained a survival benefit from surgical resection,we also investigated prognostic factors for survival following surgical *** analyses of the prognostic factors for survival were performed using the Cox proportional hazard model. RESULTS:The overall survival(OS)rate was significantly higher in the surgical resection group than in the TACE group(48.1%vs 28.9%at 5 years,P<0.005). LT had the best OS rate,which was better than that of the surgical resection group,although the difference was not statistically significant(80.2%vs 48.1%at 5 years,P=0.447).The disease-free survival rates were also significantly higher in the LT group than in the surgical resection group(88.2%vs 11.2%at 5 years, P<0.001).Liver cirrhosis was the only significant prognostic factor for poor OS after surgical resection. Clinical liver cirrhosis rates were 55.6%(20/36)in the resection group and 93.5%(100/107)in the TACE *** were 19 major and 17 minor resections. The snow enhancement experiments, carried out by injecting AgI and water vapor into orographically enhanced clouds （fog）, have been conducted to confirm Li and Pitter＇s forced condensation process in a natural situation. Nine ground-based experiments have been conducted at Daegwallyeong in the Taebaek Mountains for the easterly foggy days from January-February 2006. We then obtained the optimized conditions for the Daegwallyeong region as follows： the small seeding rate （1.04 g min-1） of AgI for the easterly cold fog with the high humidity of Gangneung. Additional experiments are needed to statistically estimate the snowfall increment caused by the small AgI seeding into the orographical fog （cloud） over the Taeback Mountains.

A small and medium enterprises(SMEs)manufacturing platform aims to perform as a significant revenue to SMEs and vendors by providing scheduling and monitoring *** optimal job shop scheduling is generated by utilizing the scheduling system of the platform,and a minimum production time,i.e.,makespan decides whether the scheduling is optimal or *** scheduling result allows manufacturers to achieve high productivity,energy savings,and customer *** in Industry 4.0 requires dynamic,uncertain,complex production environments,and customer-centered *** paper proposes a novel method for solving the difficulties of the SMEs manufacturing by applying and implementing the job shop scheduling system on a SMEs manufacturing *** primary purpose of the SMEs manufacturing platform is to improve the B2B relationship between manufacturing companies and *** platform also serves qualified and satisfactory production opportunities for buyers and producers by meeting two key factors:early delivery date and fulfillment of processing as many orders as *** genetic algorithm(GA)-based scheduling method results indicated that the proposed platform enables SME manufacturers to obtain optimized schedules by solving the job shop scheduling problem(JSSP)by comparing with the real-world data from a textile weaving factory in South *** proposed platform will provide producers with an optimal production schedule,introduce new producers to buyers,and eventually foster relationships and mutual economic interests.

Two-dimensional(2D)character animation is one of the most important visual elements on which users’interest is focused in the game ***,2D character animation works in the game field are mostly performed manually in two dimensions,thus generating high production *** study proposes a generative adversarial network based production tool that can easily and quickly generate the sprite images of 2D ***,we proposed a methodology to create a synthetic dataset for training using images from the real world in the game resource production field where machine learning datasets are *** addition,we have enabled effective sprite generation while minimizing user input in the process of using the *** this end,we proposed a mixed input method with a small number of segmentations and skeletal bone *** proposed image-to-image translation network effectively generated sprite images from the user input images using the skeletal *** conducted an experiment regarding the number of images required and showed that 2D sprite resources can be generated even with a small number of segmentation inputs and one skeletal bone drawing.

AIM:To investigate the long-term results of penetrating keratoplasty(PK)in patients with keratoconus(KC)and to evaluate factors that might influence the final visual ***:We retrospectively reviewed the data of all patients with clinical KC who had undergone PK by a single corneal surgeon in a single center from May 1980to December *** age of the patients,preoperative best-corrected visual acuity(BCVA),corneal thickness,death to preservation time,and preservation to transplantation time were ***,postoperative complications such as graft rejection,development of glaucoma and specular microscopy were checked during the ***:Sixty-nineeyesfrom69patientswerefinally *** follow-up period was 8.64±*** rejection occurred in 4 eyes of 69 cases(5.8%),and the time to graft rejection was 2.1±1.3y.A Kaplan-Meier survival analysis showed that the estimated cumulative probability of graft rejection at 6,13,and 17y after PK were 95.6%,90.0%,and 78.8%,*** we evaluated factors that might influence final BCVA in eyes,no disparity donor-host trephine size(same graft size)as well as higher spherical equivalent,and average Kvalue were associated with higher final BCVA.(P=0.006,0.051,0.092,and 0.021 in eyes with follow-up<8y;P=0.068,0.065,and 0.030 in eyes with follow-up≥8y,respectively).CONCLUSION:The long-term results of PK in patients with KC were favorable with a high percentage of good *** myopic change and low average K-reading,as well as a surgical technique using the same size donor-recipient button may provide better visual outcomes particularly in patients with KC.
