Massive hemorrhage may be detrimental to the patients,which necessitates the advent of new materials with high hemostatic efficiency and good *** objective of this research was to screen for the effect of the different types of bio-elastomers as hemostatic dressings.3D loose nanofiber sponges were prepared;PU-TA/Gel showed promising ***(PU)was synthesized and electrospun to afford porous sponges,which were crosslinked with glutaraldehyde(GA).FTIR and 1H-NMR evidenced the successful synthesis of *** prepared PU-TA/Gel sponge had the highest porosity and water absorption ***,PU-TA/Gel sponges exhibited cytocompatibility,negligible hemolysis and the shortest clotting ***-TA/Gel sponge rapidly induced stable blood clots with shorter hemostasis time and less bleeding volume in a liver injury model in ***,PU-TA/Gel sponges also induced good skin regeneration in a full-thickness excisional defect model as revealed by the histological *** results showed that the PU-TA/Gel-based sponges may offer an alternative platform for hemostasis and wound healing.

This paper addresses face recognition problem in a more challenging scenario where the training and test samples are both subject to the visual variations of poses, expressions and misalignments. We employ dense Scale-invariant feature transform(SIFT) feature matching as a generic transformation to roughly align training samples; and then identify input facial images via an improved sparse representation model based on the aligned training samples. Compared with previous methods, the extensive experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our method for the task of face recognition on three benchmark datasets.

Mineral analysis plays a major role in the successful matrix acidizing as it shows the change in physiochemical changes in the formation due to the reaction with fluids *** of the reservoir can be altered by injecting mineral acids during matrix *** various complications are connected during the application of these acids such as environmental hazards,corrosion of pipes and tubings,precipitation of fluosilicates and fast spending of *** mitigate these problems,chelating agents have been applied as an alternative by different *** this study,three different chelating agents EDTA,GLDA and HEDTA were applied to stimulate sandstone and dolomite *** pH value of these chelates ranges from 1.7 to 3 and is measured before and after core flooding to observe physiochemical *** flooding experiments under 180F temperature were performed at a constant flow rate of 1 ml/min on core samples having dimensions(3 inch1.5 inch).Porosity,permeability,Inductively Coupled Plasma(ICP),and TESCAN Integrated Mineral Analysis(TIMA)were employed to measure changes in formation properties such as morphology,topology and *** reacted sample of acids was analyzed for sodium,potassium,calcium,aluminium,magnesium,and iron using the ICP technique to find the capability of these chelates to remove positive *** found to be effective in chelating iron,calcium and magnesium and it also removed some amount of aluminium ions from the sandstone *** and porosity analysis concluded that HEDTA is more efficient in creating new big pore *** analysis confirms that HEDTA is effective in dissolving quartz and other positive ions while dissolved a large amount of calcium and sodium from the sandstone as compared to other *** analysis also concluded that HEDTA is effective in increasing porosity of sandstone formation while GLDA is effective in dolomites.

In this paper, we explored the structural, elastic and mechanical properties of the strongly correlated electron systems, intermetallic Ln-Au（Ln = Ce, Pr, Nd, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu） in cubic structure,using PF-LAPW method within the density functional theory. Structural properties of these intermetallics were investigated by treating the exchange-correlation potential with the GGA-PBE, GGA-PBEsol and GGA ＋ U. The effectiveness of the U for the structural properties as compared to other methods confirms the strong correlated nature of these compounds and the calculated lattice constants endorse the divalency of Yb. The results demonstrate the stable cubic CsCl structure of these compounds. Bulk modulus, Young＇s modulus, shear modulus, B/G ratio, Cauchy pressure, Poisson＇s ratio, anisotropic ratio,Kleinman parameters and Lame＇s coefficients were studied using the PBEsol to evaluate their importance in various types of engineering applications. The most prominent features of these compounds are their ductility, very high melting points, resistance to corrosion, and anisotropic nature.

The objective of this study was to realize the degree of biosafety precautions and measures recorded among different Private Hospitals and Diagnostic labs personnel situated in different areas of Karachi,*** thirty two private hospital based laboratory technicians were selected from all 12 selected areas in *** laboratory technicians were interviewed then a survey form was completed by the *** survey was conducted in 3 months duration from May 2017 to July *** total number of members in this study was 132,of which 85 were males and 47 were *** presented that 65%of the laboratory technicians did not use any type of PPE and 35%of the respondents recapped used syringes frequently while 25%recapped *** avoiding the reuse of syringes,Pakistani governments recommend that they be cut before discarding;however,only 65%of the respondents followed the given *** though mouth pipetting is considered outdated,45%of the technicians continue to do so for numerous *** of this survey established an absence of awareness about good and proper lab practices and lab biosafety measures among lab technicians in Karachi,Pakistan.

Structural geometry, electronic band gaps, density of states, optical and mechanical properties of double perovskite halides Cs2InBiX6(X = F, Cl, Br, I) are investigated using the density functional theory. These compounds possess genuine perovskite stoichiometry, evaluated using various geometry-based indices like tolerance factor, octahedral factor, and formation energy. The fundamental electronic band gaps are direct and valued in the range 0.80–2.79 e V. These compounds have narrow band gaps(except Cs2InBiX6) due to strong orbital coupling of the cations. The valence band maximum and conduction band minimum are confirmed to be essentially of In 5 s and Bi 6 p characters, respectively. The splitting of Bi 6 p bands due to strong spin-orbit coupling causes reduction in the band gaps. These compounds have large dispersion in their bands and very low carrier effective masses. The substitution of halogen atoms has great influence on the optical properties. The mechanical properties reveal that Cs2InBiX6(X = F, Cl, Br, I) satisfy the stability criteria in cubic structures.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate Sterculia diversifolia *** for potential anti-diabetic activity in the in vivo mouse model of alloxan-induced ***:Sterculia diversifolia(***)was subjected to extraction and isolation techniques and structural characterization of the isolated compounds were performed using spectroscopic *** acute toxicity test was performed by orally administering *** in doses of 500-2000 mg/*** the assessment of anti-hyperglycemic activity,*** bark and leaves extracts were administered orally in doses of 50,100,and 200 mg/kg,along with metformin(150 mg/kg,i.p)as positive control,after confirmation of alloxan(150 mg/kg,i.p.)induced hyperglycemia in BALB/c *** biochemical parameters were monitored for the period of ***:The phytochemical studies showed the presence of quercetin and kaempferol in *** IC50 values in the in vivo acute toxicity study revealed the safety margin of *** bark(1166.66 mg/kg)and leaves(683.34 mg/kg)extracts.A significant attenuation of alloxan induced hyperglycemia was produced by *** extracts at 50 mg/kg(P<0.05),100 mg/kg(P<0.05,<0.01),and 150 mg/kg(P<0.05,<0.01,<0.001)during 1-4 h,which was comparable to metformin(P<0.001).Significant(P<0.001)improvement appeared in blood hemoglobin,protein,cholesterol,triglycerides,urea,creatinine,HDL,and LDL of the stem bark and leaves extracts treated diabetic ***:These findings connote the usefulness of *** as an anti-diabetic in traditional medicine and this might be attributed to the presence of quercetin and kaempferol,among other phytochemicals.

As one of the most common forms of skin injuries,skin burns are often accompanied by edema pain,suppuration of infection,slow tissue regeneration,and severe scar formation,which significantly delay wound healing as well as affect the quality of *** prepared multifunctional electrospun poly(L-lactide-co-glycolide)/gelatin(P/G)-based dressings to synergistically harness the therapeutic benefits of peppermint essential oil(T),burn ointment(B),and Oregano essential oil(O)(P/G@TBO)for skin regeneration in punch and burn injury *** P/G@TBO can afford the sustained release of bioactive cues for up to 72 h as well as remarkably promote cell migration(ca.P/G@TBO,89%*** group,51%)at 24 *** P/G@TBO membranes also showed significant angiogenic effect as well as antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties than that of the control group in ***,P/G@TBO dressings enabled fast wound healing(ca.P/G@TBO,100%wound closure *** group,95%)in a full-thickness excisional defect model up to 14 days in *** evaluation of membranes in different animal models,including tail wagging model,facial itch model,and hot burn injury model showed significant pain relieve effect as well as itching and swelling relief functions during earlier stages of wound *** were next transplanted into a scalded wound model in rats and an ear punch wound model in rabbits,which manifested antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties and promoted re-epithelialization to achieve scarless wound healing percentage wound closure at day 28:P/G@TBO,96%*** group 66%.Taken together our approach of simultaneously harnessing T,B,and O to enable multifunctionality to fibrous dressings may hold great promise for burn wound healing applications and other related disciplines.
