First,we studied the invariance properties of the Kadomstev–Petviashvili equation with power law ***,we determined the complete class of conservation laws and stated the corresponding conserved densities which are useful in finding the conserved quantities of the *** point symmetry generators were also used to reduce the equation to an exact solution and to verify the invariance properties of the conserved flows.

This study reports the feasibility of using municipal wastewater biosolids as an alternative carbon source for biological phosphorus *** biosolids were treated by a lowtemperature,thermal alkaline hydrolysis process patented by Lystek International Inc.(Cambridge,oN,Canada)to produce short-chain volatile fatty acids and other readily biodegradable *** sequencing batch reactors(SBRs)were operated with synthetic volatile fatty acids(Syn VFA)and readily biodegradable organics produced from the alkaline hydrolysis of municipal wastewater biosolids(Lystek)as the carbon source,*** wastewaters with different strengths and CoD:N:P ratios were tested in the *** reactors’performances were compared with respect to nitrogen and phosphorus *** was observed that phosphorus removal efficiencies were between 98%–99%and 90%–97%and nitrogen removal efficiencies were 78%–81%,and 67%for the Syn VFA and Lystek,***,the kinetics for phosphorus release and uptake during the anaerobic and aerobic stages with Lystek were observed to be significantly lower than Syn VFA due to the presence of higher order VFAs(C4 and above)and other fermentable organics in the Lystek.

The stability and high productivity of heterogeneous terpenoid production in Escherichia coli expression system is one of the most key issues for its large scale *** the current study on taking lycopene biosynthesis as an example,an integrated Escherichia coli system has been generated successfully,which resulted into stable and high lycopene *** this process,two modules of mevalonate(MVA)pathway and one module of lycopene expression pathway were completely integrated in the ***,the copy number and integrated position of three modules of heterologous pathways were rationally ***,a strain DH416 equipped with heterogeneous expression pathways through chromosomal integration was efficiently derived from parental strain *** evolving DH416 strain efficiently produced the lycopene level of 1.22 g/L(49.9 mg/g DCW)in a 5 L fermenter with mean productivity of 61.0 mg/L/***,the integrated strain showed more genetic stability than the plasmid systems after successive 21st passage.

Facial features under variant-expressions and partial occlusions could have degrading effect on overall face recognition performance. As a solution, we suggest that the contribution of these features on final classification should be determined. In order to represent facial features＇ contribution according to their variations, we propose a feature selection process that describes facial features as local independent component analysis （ICA） features. These local features are acquired using locally lateral subspace （LLS） strategy. Then, through linear discriminant analysis （LDA） we investigate the intraclass and interclass representation of each local ICA feature and express each feature＇s contribution via a weighting process. Using these weights, we define the contribution of each feature at local classifier level. In order to recognize faces under single sample constraint, we implement LLS strategy on locally linear embedding （LLE） along with the proposed feature selection. Additionally, we highlight the efficiency of the implementation of LLS strategy. The overall accuracy achieved by our approach on datasets with different facial expressions and partial occlusions such as AR, JAFFE, FERET and CK% is 90.70%. We present together in this paper survey results on face recognition performance and physiological feature selection performed by human subjects.

Simultaneous multistage hydraulic fracturing of unconventional gas shale in parallel multilateral wells is an effective technique to raise the connectivity of the reservoir to the wellbore and improve reservoir permeability for an economical production. However, this technique should be accompanied with some optimization procedures to obtain an efficiently fractured reservoir with the highest production and the lowest cost. In unconventional hydraulic fracturing, fracture deviation/collapse and trapping are familiar phenomena which occur when a non-optimized fracturing pattern is used. These problems occur respectively when stress shadow size has not been considered in optimization and fracturing pressure is higher than the available pressure in the sealed section. Therefore, in an optimized hydraulic fracturing,having straight fractures with no deviation or collapse needs consideration of stress shadow effect(SSE).Apart from that, having efficiently propagated fractures to the extent of the reservoir without any fracture trap requires consideration of stress intensity factor(SIF) and aperture. SSE was studied and published by the authors in 2014. For the case of SIF, investigating any change in mode I SIF and aperture with different influencing variables such as fracture geometry and pattern are studied in the current research work. Three different fracturing techniques are assumed as multistage fracturing, simultaneous single-stage fracturing, and simultaneous multistage fracturing techniques. Since obtaining SIF for threedimensional fractures is a challenging issue, a stress ratio technique is used for calculation of SIF ratios of different fracturing scenarios compared to the case of a single fracture. Therefore, changes of SIF for different fracturing schemes are estimated and analyzed to understand whether or not a fracturing scheme is efficient and all the spaced perforations are activated and change to hydraulic fractures.

An analytical seismic fragility assessment framework is presented for the existing low strength reinforced concrete structures more common in the building stock of the developing *** realistic modelling of such substandard structures,low strength concrete stress-strain and bond-slip capacity models are included in calibrating material *** capacity parameters are generated stochastically to produce building population and cyclic pushover analysis is carried out to capture inelastic *** period values are evaluated corresponding to each displacement step on the capacity curves and used as seismic demand.A modified capacity demand diagram method is adopted for the degrading structures,which is further used to evaluate peak ground acceleration from back analysis considering each point on the capacity curve as performance *** developing fragility curves,the mean values of peak ground acceleration are evaluated corresponding to each performance point on the series of capacity curves.A suitable probability distribution function is adopted for the secant period scatter at different mean peak ground acceleration values and probability of exceedance of limit states is evaluated.A suitable regression function is used for developing fragility curves and regression coefficients are proposed for different confidence *** curves are presented for a low rise pre-seismic code reinforced concrete structure typical of developing countries.

Phosphorus and Potassium incorporated nano fertilizer were prepared using zeolite as a carrier material at a laboratory scale. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis was done for the characterization and confirmation of the incorporation. Chemical analyses also indicate the sorption of fertilizer material into zeolite. An in vitro incubation study was conducted for 30 days at field moisture condition to see the release of the fertilizer materials and was compared with a conventional fertilizer. The release pattern of nutrients from either source showed a substantial decreasing trend with time although the release of P and K was higher for nano fertilizer than the conventional one. A pot culture experiment with Ipomoea aquatica (Kalmi) was also conducted to see the efficacy of the nano fertilizer in the growth promotion of the plant. Analysis showed higher accumulation of P and K in plants grown with nano fertilizer. Post-effect of nano fertilizer application in soil showed better pH, moisture, CEC, available P and K under nano fertilizer treatment than the conventional fertilizer.

RSSI Based Localization of Bluetooth Devices for Visually Impaired

Localization for visually impaired people in dynamically changing environments with unexpected hazards and obstacles is a current need. Many techniques have been discussed in the literature with respect to location-based services and techniques used for the positioning of devices. Time difference of arrival (TDoA), time of arrival (ToA) and received signal strength (RSS) have been widely used for the positioning but narrow band signals such as Bluetooth cannot efficiently utilize TDoA or ToA. Received signal strength indicator (RSSI) to measure RSS, has been found to be more reliable. RSSI measurement estimations depend heavily on the environmental interference. RSSI measurement estimations of Bluetooth systems can be improved either by improving the existing methodologies used to implement them or by using fusion techniques that employ Kalman filters to combine more than one RSSI method to improve the results significantly. This paper focuses on improving the existing methodology of measuring RSSI by proposing a new method using trilateration for localization of Bluetooth devices for visually impaired people. To validate the new method, class 2 Bluetooth devices (Blue Giga WT-12) were used with an evaluation board. The software required was developed in National Instruments LabView. The PCB was designed and manufactured as well. Experiments were then conducted, and surface plots of Bluetooth modules were obtained to show the signal interference and other environmental effects. Lastly, the results were discussed, and relevant conclusions were drawn.

Arsenic in Bangladesh Soils and Its Relationship with Water Soluble Soil organic Carbon

An experiment was done to see the effect of water soluble organic carbon in soil on the release of arsenic (As). Fifty soil samples, rich in organic carbon were collected from five districts of Bangladesh namely Comilla, Jessore, Satkhira, Gopalganj and Bagerhat. Water soluble organic carbon (WSoC) of the analyzed samples ranged between 15 to 466 mg/L with an average of about 155 mg/L whereas the arsenic concentrations varies between 1.4 to 5.9 mg/L with an average of 4.2 mg/L. The arsenic contents were much higher in soils where peat deposits are prominent (Gopalganj). There has been a log-log relationship between WSoC and soil, as for all the soils, the R2 ranging from 0.355 to 0.811. Correlation between water soluble organic carbon and soil arsenic showed a positive and significant relation between the two parameters indicating the fact that organic or peat deposits contributes to the release of arsenic in Bangladesh environments.

单宁酸易致癌,是一种常见的水体污染物之一。活性炭因具有较高的比表面积,可调的孔结构,丰富的表面官能团,安全性高及成本低等优点,被认为是一种有前途的吸附材料,但活性炭对单宁酸吸附性能的影响缺乏系统的研究。因此,本工作重点讨论了活性炭对单宁酸吸附性能的影响。首先,采用Ar吸附获得了样品的比表面积,基于狭缝孔模型对等温线的吸附支进行孔径分布解析;此外,通过拉曼光谱和傅里叶变换红外光谱确定了样品表面官能团的键合结构和性质。其次,在PH=2与PH=7条件下,考察了单宁酸初始浓度与吸附性能的关系;然后,基于Langmuir和Freundlich吸附模型对吸附结果进行分析。结果表明,当溶液p H值为2时,样品的单宁酸吸附量较高,而当溶液的p H值升高到7时,其吸附量随之降低;同时,介孔活性炭对单宁酸的吸附效果要优于微孔活性炭。希望本研究可以为选择高效的活性炭去除水体单宁酸提供借鉴意义。
