Tuning the electronic structure of the earth-abundant electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution reaction(OER)to achieve efficient alkaline water splitting-A review

Tuning the electronic structure of the electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is a promising way to achieve efficient alkaline water splitting for clean energy production(H2).At first,this paper introduces the significance of the tuning of electronic structure,where modifying the electronic structure of the electrocatalysts could generate active sites having optimal adsorption energy with OER intermediates,and that could diminish the energy barrier for OER,and that could improve the activity for ***,this paper reviews the tuning of electronic structure along with catalytic performances,synthetic methodologies,chemical properties,and DFT calculations on various nanostructured earth-abundant electrocatalysts for OER in alkaline ***,this review discusses the tuning of the electronic structure of the several nanostructured earth-abundant electrocatalysts including oxide,(oxy)hydroxide,layered double hydroxide,alloy,metal phosphide/phosphate,nitride,sulfide,selenide,carbon containing materials,MOF,core-shell/hetero/hollow structured materials,and materials with vacancies/defects for OER in alkaline environment(including activity:overpotential(η)of ≤200 mV at10 m A cm^(-2);stability:≥100 h;durability:≥5000 cycles).Then,this review discusses the robust stability of the electrocatalysts for OER towards practical ***,this review discusses the in situ formation of thin layer on the catalyst surface during *** addition,this review discusses the influence of the adsorption energy of the OER intermediates on OER performance of the ***,this review summarizes the various promising strategies for tuning the electronic structure of the electrocatalysts to achieve enhanced performance for OER in alkaline environment.

Quantum confinement effect of two-dimensional all-inorganic halide perovskites

Quantum confinement effect（QCE）, an essential physical phenomenon of semiconductors when the size becomes comparable to the exciton Bohr radius, typically results in quite different physical properties of low-dimensional materials from their bulk counterparts and can be exploited to enhance the device performance in various optoelectronic applications. Here, taking Cs Pb Br3 as an example, we reported QCE in all-inorganic halide perovskite in two-dimensional（2D） nanoplates. Blue shifts in optical absorption and photoluminescence spectra were found to be stronger in thinner nanoplates than that in thicker nanoplates, whose thickness lowered below -7 nm. The exciton binding energy results showed similar trend as that obtained for the optical absorption and photoluminescence. Meanwile, the function of integrated intensity and full width at half maximum and temperature also showed similar results, further supporting our conclusions. The results displayed the QCE in all-inorganic halide perovskite nanoplates and helped to design the all-inorganic halide perovskites with desired optical properties.

Synthesis of Material Samples Based on the Texture’s Structure

In this paper， an image processing algorithm which is able to synthesize material textures of arbitrary shapes is proposed. The presented approach uses an arbitrary image to construct a structure layer of the material. The resulting structure layer is then used to constrain the material texture synthesis. The field of second-moment matrices is used to represent the structure layer. Many tests with various constraint images are conducted to ensure that the proposed approach accurately reproduces the visual aspects of the input material sample. The results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm is able to accurately synthesize arbitrary-shaped material textures while respecting the local characteristics of the exemplar. This paves the way toward the synthesis of 3D material textures of arbitrary shapes from 2D material samples， which has a wide application range in virtual material design and materials characterization.

Uptake of U-and Th-series radionuclides by cereal crops in Upper Egypt

The main aim of this study is to determine the activity concentrations of uranium series and thorium series radionuclide in crops cultivated in Upper *** types of cereal crops were collected from local markets and analyzed by γ-ray *** mean activity concentrations of the natural radionuclides 238U,226Ra and 232Th were 0.67,1.27 and 0.56 Bq·kg-1,*** annual effective doses from these radionuclides were estimated for different age groups.

The multi-robot systems(MRS)exploration and fire searching problem is an important application of mobile robots which require massive computation capability that exceeds the ability of traditional MRS′*** paper propose a cloud-based hybrid decentralized partially observable semi-Markov decision process(HDec-POSMDPs)*** proposed model is implemented for MRS exploration and fire searching application based on the Internet of things(IoT)cloud robotics *** this implementation the heavy and expensive computational tasks are offloaded to the cloud *** proposed model achieves a significant improvement in the computation burden of the whole task relative to a traditional *** proposed model is applied to explore and search for fire objects in an unknown environment;using different sets of robots *** preliminary evaluation of this implementation demonstrates that as the parallelism of computational instances increase the delay of new actuation commands which will be decreased,the mean time of task completion is decreased,the number of turns in the path from the start pose cells to the target cells is minimized and the energy consumption for each robot is reduced.

Annual dose rate for Qena governorate population due to consume the animal products

In this work, the natural radionuclide concentrations of the 226Ra, 228Ra, 232Th and 40K were estimated from samples of cattle and poultry fodder, South Valley University farms and Qena Governorate farm, Qena, Upper Egypt. The radionuclide concentrations and annual consumption rate of twenty-nine animal fodders were analyzed using low-level γ-spectrometer, including a mixture fodder, silage, hay, rice straw, and poultry fodder. The irradiation risk of human health was assessed due to indirect ingestion of the beef, milk, poultry and egg, the annual effective dose of the radionuclides for the local consumer was 2.7, 14, 0.1, and 0.14 μSv·y–1, respectively.

The promotion of both market fairness and efficiency has long been a goal of securities market regulators *** digital disruption and abusive trading behaviors,such as the GameStop mania,prompt regulatory *** is unclear how this“democratization”of trading power affects market fairness as economies cope with pandemic-driven shifts in basic *** speculation and market manipulation undermine the quality of financial markets in the sense that they cause volatil-ity and increase the pain of bubble and crash ***,they weaken public confidence in financial markets to fulfill their roles in proper capital allocation to irrigate the real economy and generate value for *** previous studies have mostly focused on market efficiency,our study proposes a tool to improve market fairness,even under periods of *** encourage value generation and improve market quality,we advance a graduated Non-Value-Added Tax that we implement in an agent-based model that can realistically capture the properties of real-world financial markets.A profitable transaction is taxed at a higher rate if it does not enhance the efficiency measured by deviation from *** an agent locks in profit not supported by fundamentals but driven by trend-following strategies,the generated profit is taxed at various rates under the Non-Value-Added Tax *** existing financial transaction taxes,the non-value-added tax is levied on profit rather than on price or *** show that the proposed tax encourages profitable trades that add value to the market and discourages valueless *** significantly curtails volatility and prevents the occurrence of extreme market events,such as bubbles and crashes.

Numerical analysis of synthetic granulate deposition in a physical model study

The current study focuses on the application of a three-dimensional numerical model for the prediction of morphological bed *** sediment deposition in a reservoir during a 10-year-fiood was investigated and the results of the simulation were validated with data derived from a physical model *** of the small grain sizes in the prototype,synthetic granulate was used in the physical *** numerical computation domain was a reproduction of the physical model,including the grain sizes and the density of the particles,in order to ensure *** CFD code SSIIM,which solves the RANS-equations in three-dimensions,was used for the *** sediment transport in SSIIM is divided into suspended sediment transport,computed by solving the convection-diffusion equation,and bed-load transport,calculated by an empirical *** results of the numerical simulation correspond well to the results of the physical model *** simulated location and the pattern of the sediment deposition in the reservoir are an accurate representation of the observed distribution in the physical model.

Assessment of Selected Heavy Metals in Street Dust Samples from Jazan City, KSA （Kingdom of Saudi Arabia）

In this work, Jazan province （Saudi Arabia） was examined for its heavy metals content. Therefore, 15 street dust samples were collected, digested and analyzed in order to investigate the levels of selected heavy metals and propose the causes for the presence of these metals. All collected samples were digested using Leeds Public Analyst method. The concentrations of heavy metals （Fe, Cu, Mn, Zn, Cd, Co and Pb） were analyzed using atomic absorption spectroscopy. Six heavy metals （Fe, Cu, Mn, Zn, Co and Pb） were measured in all samples; the concentration of Cd was not detected in Jazan dust by atomic absorption spectroscopy. The heavy metals levels in Jazan street dust increase according to the following sequence： Fe 〉 Mn 〉 Zn 〉 Cu 〉 Pb 〉 Co. The correlation coefficients and enrichment factors relative to earth crust abundances of heavy metals were calculated in order to predict the possible sources in dust.
