Due to the exponential growth of video data,aided by rapid advancements in multimedia technologies.It became difficult for the user to obtain information from a large video series.The process of providing an abstract of the entire video that includes the most representative frames is known as static video summarization.This method resulted in rapid exploration,indexing,and retrieval of massive video libraries.We propose a framework for static video summary based on a Binary Robust Invariant Scalable Keypoint(BRISK)and bisecting K-means clustering algorithm.The current method effectively recognizes relevant frames using BRISK by extracting keypoints and the descriptors from video sequences.The video frames’BRISK features are clustered using a bisecting K-means,and the keyframe is determined by selecting the frame that is most near the cluster center.Without applying any clustering parameters,the appropriate clusters number is determined using the silhouette coefficient.Experiments were carried out on a publicly available open video project(OVP)dataset that contained videos of different genres.The proposed method’s effectiveness is compared to existing methods using a variety of evaluation metrics,and the proposed method achieves a trade-off between computational cost and quality.

The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic has caused changes in the global health system,causing significant setbacks in healthcare systems worldwide.This pandemic has also shown resilience,flexibility,and creativity in reacting to the tragedy.The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)infection targets most of the respiratory tract,resulting in a severe sickness called acute respiratory distress syndrome that may be fatal in some individuals.Although the lung is the primary organ targeted by COVID-19 viruses,the clinical aspect of the disease is varied and ranges from asymptomatic to respiratory failure.However,due to an unorganized immune response and several affected mechanisms,the liver may also experience liver cell injury,ischemic liver dysfunction,and drug-induced liver injury,which can result in respiratory failure because of the immune system’s disordered response and other compromised processes that can end in multisystem organ failure.Patients with liver cirrhosis or those who have impaired immune systems may be more likely than other groups to experience worse results from the SARS-CoV-2 infection.We thus intend to examine the pathogenesis,current therapy,and consequences of liver damage concerning COVID-19.

Germline genetics of high penetrance such as BRCA genes,mutations might be sufficient for carcinogenesis,but this only explains fewer than 10%of cancers.We assume that most cancers are the result of germline mutations of low to moderate penetrance,combined with acquired mutations due to external carcinogenic stressors.With their accumulation over time,aging is associated with an increased risk of multiple cancer development in a given individual.For decades,germline genetics have been based on familial linkage studies enabling most high-penetrance genes to be identified.More recently,population-wide studies have led to the identification of considerable numbers of polymorphisms associated with cancer risk.However,most of them are of unknown functional value,thus limiting their translational application.

Assessment of LV Function in Children with Wilson’s Disease: Speckle Tracking Imaging Study

Background and Objective: Wilson’s disease is a genetic disorder of copper metabolism that affects liver and other organs including heart. In early stages of myocardial affection, the left ventricle (LV) appears apparently normal when evaluated by traditional two-dimensional (2D) echocardiography. The aim of this study was to detect subclinical LV dysfunction in children with Wilson’s disease using 2D speckle tracking echocardiography. Patients and Methods: Twenty children with Wilson’s disease were compared with age- and sex-matched 20 healthy children. All subjects were evaluated by traditional 2D echocardiography and speckle tracking echocardiography. Results: There were no significant differences between patients and controls regarding conventional echo parameters except for lower E mitral flow and E' annular septal peak velocity in patient group. The regional peak longitudinal strain of apical 4 chamber view was -17.8% ± 4.2% in patients and -20.1% ± 2.3 % in control subjects (P = 0.043), and for apical 2 chambers view, it was -20.1%± 3.6% in patients and -22.6% ± 3.4% in control subjects (P = 0.034) and it was -18% ± 3.5% in patients and -20.5% ± 3.2% in control subjects (P = 0.025) in apical long axis view. The global peak longitudinal strain was also lower in patients than control group (18.3% ± 3.2%, and 20.85% ± 2.4%) respectively (P = 0.014). There were no significant differences between both groups regarding circumferential and radial strains (P > 0.05). Conclusions: Despite apparently normal LV systolic function, the children with Wilson’s disease demonstrated significantly lower peak longitudinal strain as an indicator for early affection of LV systolic function.

Correlation of Invasively Estimated Left Ventricular End Diastolic Pressure with Acceleration of E’ Wave by Tissue Doppler Imaging of Mitral Annulus

Background: There is no single noninvasive index that provides a direct measure of LV filling pressure. However, invasive measuring of LV end diastolic pressure (LVEDP) provides reliable assessment of LV diastolic dysfunction, but its invasive nature limits its use in daily practice. Accurate noninvasive assessment of LV diastolic dysfunction is highly desirable, and the relationship between the degree of LVEDP and acceleration of E’ wave obtained by tissue Doppler imaging (TDI) of mitral annulus is not clearly assessed;here in our study we aimed to assess the relation between the degree of LVEDP and the acceleration rate of E’ wave of mitral annular Doppler tissue. Patients and Methods: The study included 60 patients divided equally into 3 groups according to the degree of LVEDP, group I (Normal): ’ ratio and E’ wave acceleration rate. Coronary angiography and left sided heart catheterization and measuring LVEDP were performed for correlating E’ wave acceleration rate with invasively estimated LVEDP.?Results: There was significant progressive decrease in E’ acceleration rate (E’ Acc rate) with progressive increase in LVEDP from I to III (P 0.001), while there was significant progressive increase in E/E’ ratio with progressive increase in LVEDP from I to III (P 0.003). Peak E’ acceleration rate had a significant negative correlation with LVEDP in all three groups, with p value of 0.003, 0.044 and 0.021 respectively in group I, II & III. Regarding E/E’ ratio there was a significant positive correlation in predicting normal and elevated LVEDP with p value (0.001 and 0.006) respectively while there was a non-significant correlation between E/E’ and LVEDP within grey zone group. Conclusion: E’ acceleration rate could be used as a reliable index to assess LVEDP.

The Odd Log-Logistic Weibull-G Family of Distributions with Regression and Financial Risk Models

A new generalization of the Weibull-G family is proposed with two extra shape parameters.The mathematical properties are derived in great detail.Using the Weibull and normal distributions as baseline distributions,two models are introduced.The first model is a location-scale regression model based on a new extension of the Weibull distribution.The second model is a new two-step financial risk model to forecast the daily value at risk.The flexibility and applicability of the proposed models are investigated by means of five real data sets on the lifetime and financial returns.Empirical findings of the study show that proposed models work well and produce better results than other well-known models for financial risk modeling and censored lifetime data analysis.

Ficus carica hairy roots:In vitro anti-leishmanial activity against Leishmania major promastigotes and amastigotes

Objective:To investigate the biochemical capacity,and in vitro inhibitory effects of hairy roots from two cultivars of Ficus carica L.(Sabz and Siah)on Leishmania major promastigotes and amastigotes.Methods:In the hairy roots,the activity of antioxidant enzymes compared to normal leaves and roots,and the presence of some phenolic compounds in comparison with fruits were investigated.The IC_(50) values of hairy roots in promastigotes was determined by tetrazolium-dye 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide and trypan blue assays.By calculating the infectivity index of peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMCs),the leishmanicidal activity(IC_(50) values)of hairy roots for amastigotes was estimated.The effects of hairy roots(IC_(50) values)treatment on the levels of IFN-γ and iNOS expression,intracellular reactive oxygen species,and iNOS protein expression in infected-PBMCs were determined.Results:Based on antioxidant enzyme assays and high performance liquid chromatography analysis,hairy roots exhibited high antioxidant capacity and contained high levels of phenolic compounds.According to the results of tetrazolium-dye 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide and trypan blue assays,the hairy root extracts of both cultivars showed considerable dose-dependent inhibitory effects against Leishmania major promastigotes.Depending on the concentration and exposure time,treatment of infected-PBMCs with hairy root extracts caused the generation of a significant reactive oxygen species,up-regulation of IFN-γ and iNOS genes expression,and high value of iNOS protein compared to controls.Conclusions:The findings of this study suggest that the hairy roots of Ficus carica can be considered as a promising natural source of antileishmanial agents.

Hypolipidemic activity of Tamarix articulata Vahl. in diabetic rats

OBJECTIVE： Tamarix articulata Vahl. （Tamaricaceae） is a medicinal plant commonly used in Morocco for the treatment of diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular diseases. The objective of this study was to evaluate the hypolipidemic activity of aqueous extract of T. articulata in normal and streptozotocin （STZ）-induced diabetic rats. Phytochemical analysis as well as determination of polyphenol and flavonoid contents in the aqueous extract of T. articulata was performed. METHODS： The effects of oral administration of aqueous extract of T. articulata （5 mg/kg） on the plasma total cholesterol, triglyceride and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol （HDL-c） concentrations were measured in both normal and STZ-induced diabetic rats. Total phenolic content of the aqueous extract was determined by Folin-Ciocalteu method. In addition, determination of flavonoid content was performed using colorimetric AICI3 method. RESULTS： A single oral administration in diabetic rats induced a significant increase in the HDL-c concentration after 6 h of treatment with T. articulata （5 mg/kg）. The results also demonstrated that the aqueous extract of T. articulata produced a significant decrease of serum total cholesterol after repeated oral administration in diabetic rats （P 〈 0.01）. The total polyphenol and flavonoid contents of T. articulata aqueous extract were equal to 102.50 mg of gallic acid equivalent per gram of extract and 54.83 mg of quercetin equivalent per gram of extract, respectively. CONCLUSION： According to preliminary phytochemical screening of the aerial part of T. articulata, severa classes of chemicals have been found, such as polyphenols, flavonoids, tannins, cyanidins （flavones, catechols）, mucilage, sesquiterpenes, terpenoids and carbohydrates. In conclusion, T. articulata exhibits a hypolipidemic effect in diabetic rats and its beneficial role as hypolipidemic agent should be evaluated in clinical studies.

Synthesis and characterization of multiwall carbon nanotubes/alumina nanohybrid-supported cobalt catalyst in Fischer-Tropsch synthesis

Multiwall carbon nanotubes （MWNTs） and alumina are combined to give a new type of nanohybrid for Fisher-Tropsch synthesis （FTS） catalyst support. Alumina nano-particles （10 wt%） were introduced directly on functionalized MWNTs by a modified sol-gel method. Microstructure observations show that alumina particles were homogeneously dispersed on the inside and outside of modified MWNTs surfaces. 15 wt% cobalt loading catalysts were prepared with this nanohybrid and γ-alumina as a reference, using a sol-gel technique and wet impregnation method respectively. These catalysts were characterized by TEM, XRD, N2-adsorption, H2 chemisorption and TPR. The deposition of cobalt nanoparticles synthesized by sol-gel technique on the MWNTs nanohybrid shift the reduction peaks to a low temperature, indicating higher reducibility for uniform cobalt particles. Nanohybrid also aided in high dispersion of metal clusters and high stability and performance of catalyst. The proposed MWNTs nanohybrid-supported cobalt catalysts showed the improved FTS rate （gHc/（gcat.min））, CO conversion （%）, and water gas shift rate （WGS）（gcoz/（gcat.h）） of 0.012, 52, and 30E-3, respectively, as compared to those of 0.007, 25, and 18E-3, respectively, on the γ-alumina-supported cobalt catalysts with the same Co loading.
