Objective:To investigate the bioecological relationship between Chagas disease peridomestic vectors and reptiles as source of ***:In a three-story building,triatomines were captured by direct search and electric vacuum cleaner search in and outside the ***,age structure of the captured Triatoma maculata(***) were identified and *** living in sympatric with the triatomines were also ***:*** were found living sympatric with geckos(Thecadactylus rapicauda) and they bit residents of the apartment building in study.A total of 1 448 individuals of *** were captured within three days,of which 74.2%(1 074 eggs) were eggs,21.5%were nymphs at different stages,and 4.3%were ***:The association of *** and *** is an effective strategy of colonizing dwellings located in the vicinity of the habitat where both species are present;and therefore,could have implications of high importance in the intradomiciliary transmission of Chagas disease.

Prognostic significance of heart rate in hospitalized patients presenting with myocardial infarction

AIM: To investigate the prognostic significance of resting heart rate in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), independent of other known factors. METHODS: Patients 40 years of age or older who had been admitted with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) to one of the 94 hospitals participating in the Prevalence of Peripheral Arterial Disease in Patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome (PAMISCA) study were included. Patients were divided into two groups based on their resting heart rate (HR ≥ or ns were recording during a follow-up period of 1 year. RESULTS: There were 1054 ACS patients analyzed (43.5% with ST segment elevation and 56.5% without elevation). Mean age was 66.6 ± 11.7 years, 70.6% were male and 29.4% of subjects were female. During follow-up, more patients in the HR ≥ 70 bpm group were hospitalized for heart failure and they also had a higher mortality rate. In the multivariate analysis, a heart rate of ≥ 70 bpm was independently related to overall mortality during the follow-up period (hazard ratio 2.5; 95% confidence interval, 1.26-4.97, P = 0.009). COnCLUSIOn: A resting heart rate ≥ 70 bpm in patients who survive an ACS is an indicator of a high risk of suffering cardiovascular events during follow-up.

Despite the breadth of knowledge about malaria, its transmission, preventive measures and available treatments and its difficulty in controlling the vector and the rapid spread of resistance to current drugs, there is a stimulus to develop new research looking for active molecules. The phytochemical studies of the active extract confirmed the presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, coumarins, tannins, reducing compounds, anthocyanins, terpenes, triterpenes and steroids. In the present work, it was possible to isolate a mixture of isoquinolinic alkaloids from the tender leaves of nectandra membranacea （Laureaceae） with antimalarial activity. The mixture composed of （-） - gliazovine and （＋） - aplogliazovine showed an IC50 value of 32.18 μg/mL against the P. berghei nK65 strain. It is important to continue with these studies and their chemical components isolated from n. membranacea that could be used as an alternative the treatment of malaria.

Objective: To report the renal histological lesions in synanthropic rodents, Mus musculus and Rattus rattus, naturally infected with Leptospira spp., captured in a rural community in Yucatan, Mexico. Methods: Kidney samples of synanthropic rodents were collected from a rural community in Yucatan, Mexico. Polymerase chain reaction was used to detect Leptospira spp. infection. Tissue kidney was fixed in 10% buffered formalin, processed according to the usual techniques for paraffin inclusion, cut and stained with hematoxylin and eosin, and examined using a conventional electronic microscope. Results: A total of 187 rodents were captured. nine individuals(4.8%) were positive for Leptospira spp. in the molecular analysis. All renal lesions observed in the histopathological study had been reported previously for Leptospira spp. infection. Conclusions: The histopathological lesions are present in the kidneys, plus the results of the polymerase chain reaction confirm that these rodents are true carriers of Leptospira spp.

The clinical manifestations of COVID-19,caused by the SARS-CoV-2,define a large spectrum of symptoms that are mainly dependent on the human host *** Costa Rica,more than 169,000 cases and 2185 deaths were reported during the year 2020,the pre-vaccination *** describe the clinical presentations at the time of diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection in Costa Rica during the pre-vaccination period,we implemented a symptom-based clustering using machine learning to identify clusters or clinical profiles at the population level among 18,974 records of positive *** were compared based on symptoms,risk factors,viral load,and genomic features of the SARS-CoV-2 sequence.A total of 18 symptoms at time of diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection were reported with a frequency>1%,and those were used to identify seven clinical profiles with a specific composition of clinical *** the comparison between clusters,a lower viral load was found for the asymptomatic group,while the risk factors and the SARS-CoV-2 genomic features were distributed among all the *** other distribution patterns were found for age,sex,vital status,and *** conclusion,during the pre-vaccination time in Costa Rica,the symptoms at the time of diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection were described in clinical *** host co-morbidities and the SARS-CoV-2 genotypes are not specific of a particular profile,rather they are present in all the groups,including asymptomatic *** addition,this information can be used for decision-making by the local healthcare institutions(first point of contact with health professionals,case definition,or infrastructure).In further analyses,these results will be compared against the profiles of cases during the vaccination period.

Statistical methods for analyzing economic data need to be timely, accurate and easy to compute. To accomplish this, parametric models are often assumed, but they are at best approximate, and often lack a good fit in the tails of the distribution where much of the interesting data are concentrated. Therefore, nonparametric methods have been extensively examined as alternatives to the constrictive assumptions of parametric models. This paper examines the use of Sequential normal Scores (SnS) for transforming time series data with unknown distributions into time series data that are approximately standard-normally distributed. Particular attention is directed toward detecting outliers (out-of-control values), and applying subsequent analytic methods such as CUSUMs and Exponentially Weighted Moving Average (EWMA) schemes. Two examples of stock market data are presented for illustration.

清朝灭亡后,当中华民国的成立终结了中国两千余年的封建帝制,一小群受过良好教育的精英女性离开她们安逸的家庭,卸下装饰,推翻传统中国社会对于女性的定义。为使别人听见自己的声音并将女性带入公众的视线,她们勇敢地闯入所谓的男人们的世界,并以不同的方式来讨论这样一个正在经历快速变化的国家。《女铎》是其中一种方式。作为一份妇女刊物,它最早在广学会的赞助下在上海发行。其目的是传播基督教有关道德观念、妇女责任等问题的观点,介绍资产阶级妇女地位的提升。在西方宗教和道德观的影响下,《女铎》鼓励女性走出家庭,将对于家庭事务的担忧夸大为对于社会和国家事务的担忧。围绕西方传统和新的灵感,《女铎》的中国读者们讨论诸如“新中国女性”、“女性身份”“女性特质”等概念,质疑她们在中国家庭、教育、文学和历史中扮演的角色。在其专栏和社论中,女性作家阐述了中国女性在教育方面的现有进步、在战争中扮演的角色、女性与爱国问的关系、现代婚姻风俗,以及其他与中国重建中女性新角色相关的话题。她们展示了其对于在现代中国中女性社会和政治地位的调查,并接受挑战以重写儒家传统性别角色。通过对于《女铎》的分析,本课题将展开一段有关1912年至1922年问中国女性地位变化的历史研究,并借助原文来阐明其作品是怎样反映历史和宗教背景的。笔者研究这些女性阐述妇女问题的方式,以及她们推进文化抵抗所采取的文本策略。同样,笔者也想强调女性作者、编辑、出版者是怎样在坚持使用自己的写作和出版的方式,意在打破那个时代传统和固有的文学、政治格式的情况下,将文学、文化和宗教传统化为其用的。最后,通过对于该报章文学内的分析,笔者想进一步研究印刷出版的新教传教士是怎样影响中国女性地位的变化,而且理解为什么女性读者的出版物在新教传教士的期刊、书籍,以及其他印刷媒体中占据重要位置。
