Intraductal papillary neoplasm of the bile ducts: A case report and literature review

Intraductal papillary neoplasm of the bile duct(IPNB) is a rare bile duct neoplasm mostly found in far eastern nations where hepatolithiasis and clonorchiasis infections are endemic. In western countries,it is very rare and the etiology is unknown. In this article,we report the first IPNB patient we encountered in our clinic and a literature review. the patient is a 38-yearold female with a history of choledocholithiasis who presented with obstructive jaundice. She was found to have a papillary mass at the junction of the right hepatic duct and common hepatic duct with six masses in the liver parenchyma. the immunophenotypic and histologic features of the tumor are consistent with IPNB,gastric subtype. the patient had a partial hepatectomy and has been receiving palliative chemotherapy. In a search of Pub Med database,we collected 354 IPNB patients reported in 22 articles. In these patients,52.8% were from Japan and 27.7% were from western countries including the United States(11.0%). the age of the patients ranged from 35 to 80 years old with an average of 64.6. Male/female ratio was 1.5. Macroscopically,57.5% of the tumors were in the left lobe and 29.5% were in the right lobe. the average size of the tumor were 4.2 cm at the time of diagnosis. Histologically,pancreato-biliary subtype accounted for 41.8%,intestinal 28.0%,gastric 13.5% and oncocytic 16%. An invasive component is most often present in the pancreato-biliary and gastric subtypes. Despite recent advanced technologies,diagnosis of IPNB is still challenging,especially in western countries due to its rarity. Defined clinicopathologic features are in demand for the accurate diagnosis and proper treatment.

Chemical absorption is a crucial step for several chemical processes such as ammonia production, coal gasification, methane reforming,ethylene oxide manufacturing and treatment of associated gas streams [1]. It is considered one of the main processes to eliminate CO_2 emissions from power plants by *** of new solvents are of high interest in chemical absorption for carbon capture. For the design of the absorption and desorption columns it is essential to know the vapour-liquid equilibrium(VLE), heat of absorption and densities. N,N-diethylethanolamine(DEEA) appeared as one of the amines with the lowest amount of energy needed for its regeneration [2], which would directly decrease the operation costs. DEEA has a high CO_2 loading of 1 mol/mol of amine compared to the traditional MEA solvent(0.5 mol/mol amine) and is obtained from renewable sources[1]. the main weakness is its low absorption rate and consequently the use of promoters is *** this work, a thermodynamic model based on the electrolyte non-random two-liquid theory(eNRtL) was created and fitted to correlate and predict the partial and total pressures of the unloaded and loaded aqueous DEEA solutions. New interaction parameters were obtained for the binary and tertiary system. this model represents the vapour pressures of the pure components, DEEA and H_2 O, with AARD of 1.9% and 1.73%respectively. Furthermore, the fitted model predicts the total pressure above the binary system, H_2O-DEEA, with AARD of 0.05%. the excess of enthalpy and densities are predicted with AARD of 5.63% and 1.38% respectively. the tertiary system, H_2O-DEEA-CO_2, is fitted for 2 M and5 M DEEA solutions with loading between 0.042 and 0.9 mol CO_2/mol amine up to 80 ℃. Results of CO_2 partial pressures and total pressures are reproduced, with AARD of 19.45% and 16.18% respectively. Densities are predicted with an AARD of 1.52%.

Carbon nanodots (CNDs) with enriched periphery carboxylic groups were synthesized using the low-cost starting material glucose. the obtained CNDs were assembled onto Au electrodes following one of two strategies: covalent bonding, using cystamine as a cross-linker, or by drop-casting. the immobilized CNDs were covalently modified with the phenothiazine Azure A via electron transfer chemistry; in particular via reactions with aryl diazonium salts. the reaction mechanism for the diazonium functionalization of CNDs was investigated. Spectroelectrochemistry experiments confirmed that electrografting, rather than adsorption, governs the functionalization of CNDs with Azure A. Finally, the application of these CNDs as electrocatalysts for the oxidation of hydrazine was demonstrated.

A mathematical model and experimental analysis of the impact of oxide thickness on the ambipolar conduction in Schottky Barrier Carbon Nanotubes(CNts)Field Effect transistor(SB CNtFEts)is *** of ambipolar conduction in SB CNtFEts is imperative in order to establish them as the future of IC *** ambipolar nature of SB CNtFEts leads to a great amount of leakage *** a gate oxide dielectric of thickness,tox^50 nm suppresses the ambipolar *** an SB CNtFEt,it is the electric field at the source/drain contacts that control the conductance and the band bending length at the contacts is defined by ***,tox is the prime parameter that influences the width of the Schottky barrier and the current in the subthreshold *** to the wide SB,there is a loss in on-current due to tunneling,but the current due to thermionic emission is increased by employing a high-κdielectric such as Zirconium dioxide(ZrO2).this work proposes an approach to suppress ambipolar behavior in SB CNtFEts without decreasing the on *** thickness and dielectric constant of the gate oxide are optimized using the particle swarm optimization(PSO)algorithm to achieve suppression of ambipolar conduction without any loss in *** proposed SB CNtFEt was modeled using *** demonstration of the suppression of ambipolar property is also *** SB CNtFEts are fabricated using high-κdielectric such as ZrO2 with different thickness.A device with thin(~5 nm)gate oxide and another device with thick(~50 nm)gate oxide were *** the experimental results,it is observed that the device with the thin gate oxide exhibited ambipolar characteristics and the device with the thick gate oxide did not exhibit ambipolar *** increase in thickness,tox,ensures suppression of ambipolar behavior.

Eutectic mixture promoted CO_2 sorption on MgO-tiO_2 composite at elevated temperature

the development of carbon dioxide(CO_2) sorbents that can operate at elevated temperatures is significant for the advancement of pre-combustion capture ***, promoter-based systems composed of alkali/alkaline earth metal nitrates and/or carbonates have been considered as next-generation solid sorbents due to their improved CO_2 uptake and kinetics. However, obtaining stable MgO sorbents against temperature swing regeneration still remained challenging. Herein, we report MgO-tiO_2 solid sorbents promoted by eutectic mixture(KNO_3 and LiNO_3) for elevated temperature CO_2 sorption. the developed sorbents show improved CO_2 sorption capacity, which may be attributed to the alternative CO_2 sorption pathway provided by the ionization of highly dispersed MgO in the eutectic mixture. the MgO-tiO_2 framework was also shown to assist in retaining the MgO configuration by constraining its interaction with CO_2. Furthermore, it is demonstrated that constructing composite structures is essential to improve the CO_2 sorption characteristics,mainly recyclability, at elevated temperatures. the developed promoter integrated sorbents showed exceptionally high CO_2 sorption capacity of > 30 wt.% at an elevated temperature(300°C) with pronounced stability under temperature swing operation.
