The nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) transcriptionfactor coordinates several aspects of innate and adaptiveimmunity, inflammation, cell survival and proliferation [1,2]. Dysregulation of the NF-κB pathway has been associ-ated with cancer development and progression as well aswith other human diseases including viral infections anda number of inflammatory diseases [1]. NF-κB is formedthrough the dimerization of 5 subunits, including membersof the Rel protein family, namely RelA (p65), c-Rel, RelB,NF-κB1 (p50 and its precursor p105) and NF-κB2 (p52and its precursor p 100). Two pathways are involved in theactivation of NF-κB. In both these pathways, kinase activityand proteasome activity play a major role in freeing NF-κBfrom cytoplasmic inhibitors to promote its nuclear translo-cation and activation. The classical or canonical pathwayis activated by a large range of stimuli (microbial and viralinfections, proinflammatory cytokines). In this pathway,NF-κB dimers, mostly p50/RelA and p50/c-Rel, are usuallyretained in the cytoplasm by their interaction with specificinhibitors, called IκBs. NaY zeolite functionalized by sulfamic acid/Cu（OAc）_2[NaY/SA/Cu（Ⅱ）] was synthesized and used as a new,efficient and recyclable catalyst for preparation of formamides. This novel organic-inorganic hybrid catalyst was characterized by several techniques such as FT-IR, XRD, SEM, EDX and TG ***, easy procedure, excellent yields, very short reaction times, solvent-free and mild reaction conditions are some benefits of this new protocol.

Taking domains in the one hand and actions of a semigroup （automaton） on the other, as two crucial notions in mathematics as well as in computer science, we consider the notion of compact directed complete poset （acts）, and investigate the interesting notion of absolute retractness for such ordered structures. As monomorphisms and embeddings for domain acts are different notions, we study absolute retractness with respect to both the class of monomorphisms and that of embed- dings for compact directed complete poset （acts）. We characterize the absolutely retract compact dcpos as complete compact chains. Also, we give some examples of compact di- rected complete poset acts which are （g-）absolutely retract （with respect to embeddings） and show that completeness is not a sufficient condition for （g-）absolute retractness.

Membranes have attracted much attention as economical methods for industrial chemical processes. The effects of the titanium dioxide nanoparticle load on the morphology and CO2/CH4 separation performance of poly (ether-block-amide)(PEBAX-1657) mixed matrix membranes (MMMs) were investigated from pressures of 3-12 bar and temperatures of 30℃-60℃. The PEBAX membranes were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, thermal gravimetric analysis, atomic force microscopy and tensile strength analysis. The incorporation of TiO2 nanoparticles into the polymeric MMMs improved the CO2/CH4 gas separation performance (both the permeability and selectivity) of the membranes. The CO2 permeability and ideal CO2/CH4 selectivity values of the nanocomposite membrane loaded with 8 wt-% TiO2 were 172.32 Barrer and 24.79, respectively whereas those of the neat membrane were 129.87 Barrer and 21.39, respectively.

Due to different latitudes and variation of altitude in geographical areas in Iran,the climatic conditions of Iran are such that the variations of the heating degree-days(HDD)are in a broad range of 60 to 3000 for residential buildings in different climatic *** addition,in many cases,the building design and construction processes follow patterns which do not necessarily meet national energy requirements and *** on these two reasons,it is essential to identify the current status of energy consumption indicators in residential *** way,it gets more convenient to adopt new strategies to improve the current state of energy consumption of *** this study,heating energy consumption indices of residential buildings is *** the combination of the results of statistical data analysis,questionnaires,filled in for 500 buildings,and a reference building simulation in different climates of Iran,the heating atlas of residential buildings was *** to the results,the average heating energy index(HE1)of buildings in Iran can be less than 1 to more than 41.3(m^(3)(N.G)/(m^(2)-yr))depending on climatic conditions and building design and construction ***,in the coldest center of province,the average of this index is 26.3(m^(3)(N.G)/(m^(2)-yr))in the hottest one that is equal *** variations of the thermal base load(supply of hot water)varied from less than 13.12 to more than 378.84(m^(3)(N.G)/(person-yr)).In provincial capitals,the lowest thermal base load index(TBLI)of buildings is 24.78 and the highest is 226.49(m^(3)(N.G)/(person-yr)).In this paper,beside charts and tables,results of heating energy consumption indices are also presented in the form of graphical atlases,*** contour plots,to deliver a better picture of the whole country.

BACKGROUND： Small for gestational age （SGA） has high frequency which increases the risk of long-term adverse outcomes. Thus the aim of this study was to evaluate peak systolic velocity Doppler of middle cerebral artery （MCA） in SGA fetus in order to find appropriate method to diagnosis SGA sooner. MATERIALS and METHODS： This prospective longitudinal study was conducted on 90 pregnant women with a diagnosis of SGA fetus and 90 pregnant women with normal fetus. Then MCA and umbilical artery assessment were performed for all subjects and compared between two groups. RESULTS： Doppler assessment showed that umbilical artery PI was significantly higher in SGA group as compared to normal group （1.114-0.37 vs 0.984-0.18, P = 0.003）, while MCA PI was significantly lower in SGA group （1.77±0.44 vs 1.92±0.47, P = 0.028）. On the other hand, PSV did not differ between the groups （P = 0.592）. Moreover, we found that PSV was more in SGA group by grouping maternal age （〈 27 years）（P = 0.006）, and gestational age （〉 34 weeks）（P 〈 0.001）. CONCLUSION： The results of this study suggest that MCA PI decreased significantly in SGA fetuses, while UA PI increased in this group. Moreover, PSV increased in this group when evaluated in different subgroups （based on maternal age and gestational age）.

Extremity fractures in children： a hospital based study in Tehran

Objective： Although long bone fracture in children is not life-threatening, it may cause major disability, loss of working days and severe psychological distress. We conducted this study to determine the pattern of extremity fracture due to trauma in children. Methods： During one year in six general hospitals in Tehran, trauma patients who were hospitalized for more than 24 hours and sustained injuries within seven days before admission were included in the study. The records of children （≤16 years old） hospitalized in six general hospitals in Tehran due to trauma were reviewed prospectively. Results： During the study period, 1 274 children had sustained extremity fractures. Male to female ratio was 3.6/ 1, with the mean age of （10.3±4.2） years. Falls and traffic crashes were the main causes of injuries, with the percentages of 57.3 % and 37.1%, respectively. Simple fall （falling on the ground） consisted 60% of patients that sustained fall-related injuries. Pedestrians and bicycle riders comprised most of the cases that were injured due to traffic crashes. Of our cases, 56.8% sustained fractures in the upper extremities and 43.2% in the lower extremities. Forearm was the most common fracture site （34.1%）. Comparing our results in preschool and school-age children, falls were the main cause of injuries in both groups, but fractures of lower extremities were significantly more common in preschool children. Conclusions： Improvement of physical condition of sidewalks and crossings in roads will be necessary for prevention of injuries. More attention to safety of home environment should be paid for control of preschools＇ injury at home. Education of children and adults is necessary to reduce injuries resulting from road traffic crashes.

Seat belt use during pregnancy in Iran： attitudes and practices

Objective： Seat belt use during pregnancy reduces injury to the mother and her fetus. During recent years, the use of seat belts has been mandated by law in Iran. The purpose of this study was to determine the attitudes and practices of pregnant women regarding seat belt use. Methods： In this cross-sectional study, we asked 335 pregnant women at a hospital-based prenatal care clinic on the use of safety belt before and during pregnancy. SPSS version 13.0 was used for data analysis. Results： The mean age of study subjects was 27.3 years±5.3 years with the median of 27 years. Compared with the seat belt use before pregnancy, no change was detectedin 48.7% of the women; seat belt use had increased in 17.5 % of them and decreased in 33.8 %. Eighty-one percent of women knew the correct placing ＆both lap belt and shoulder belt. Only 4% of women had received education on proper restraint use during pregnancy. Conclusions： The prevalence of seat belt use during pregnancy is lower than reports which are mostly from developed nations. The fact that about one-third of women have decreased their seat belt usage during pregnancy highlights the importance of education of mothers on this topic.
