Theoretical investigation of nonlinear electrostatic ion-acoustic cnoidal waves(IACWs) is presented in magnetized electron–positron–ion plasma with nonextensive electrons and Maxwellian positrons. Using reductive perturbation technique, Korteweg–de Vries equation is derived and its cnoidal wave solution is analyzed. For given plasma parameters, our model supports only positive potential(compressive) IACW structures. The effect of relevant plasma parameters(viz., nonextensive parameter q, positron concentration p, temperature ratio σ,obliqueness l3) on the characteristics of IACWs is discussed in detail.

Although significant advances have been made in understanding the pathophysiology of psychiatric disorders(PDs),therapeutic advances have not been very *** psychotropic medications can reduce classical symptoms in patients with PDs,their long-term use has been reported to induce or exaggerate various pre-existing metabolic abnormalities including diabetes,obesity and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).The mechanism(s)underlying these metabolic abnormalities is not clear;however,lipid/fatty acid accumulation due to enhanced de novo lipogenesis(DNL)has been shown to reduce membrane fluidity,increase oxidative stress and inflammation leading to the development of the aforementioned metabolic ***,emerging evidence suggest that DNL dysregulation and fatty acid accumulation could be the major mechanisms associated with the development of obesity,diabetes and NAFLD after long-term treatment with psychotropic medications in patients with *** support of this,several adjunctive drugs comprising of anti-oxidants and antiinflammatory agents,that are used in treating PDs in combination with psychotropic medications,have been shown to reduce insulin resistance and development of *** conclusion,the above evidence suggests that DNL could be a potential pathological factor associated with various metabolic abnormalities,and a new avenue for translational research and therapeutic drug designing in PDs.

Synthetic aperture radar(SAR) imaging is an efficient strategy which exploits the properties of microwaves to capture images. A major concern in SAR imaging is the reconstruction of image from back scattered signals in the presence of noise. The reflected signal consist of more noise than the target signal and it is a challenging problem to reduce the noise in the collected signal for better reconstruction of an image. Current studies mostly focus on filtering techniques for noise removal. This can result in an undesirable point spread function causing extreme smearing effect in the desired image. In order to handle this problem, a computational technique, particle swarm optimization(PSO) is used for de-noising purpose and later the target performance is further improved by an amalgamation of Wiener ***, to improve the de-noising performance we have exploited the singular value decomposition based morphological filtering. To justify the proposed improvements we have simulated the proposed techniques and results are compared with the conventional existing models. The proposed method revealed considerable decrease in mean square error compared to Wiener filter and PSO techniques. Quantitative analysis of image restoration quality are also presented in comparison with Wiener filter and PSO based on the improvement in signal to noise ratio and peak signal to noise ratio.

Water pollution accidents, such as the Flint water crisis in the United States, caused by lead contamination have raised concern on the safety of drinking water distribution systems. Thus, the routine monitoring of lead in water is highly required and demands efficient, sensitive, cost-effective, and reliable lead detection methods. This study reports a label-free colorimetric nanosensor that uses unmodified gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) as indicators to enable rapid and ultra-sensitive detection of lead in environmental water. The 8-17 DNAzyme was truncated in this study to facilitate the detachment of single-stranded DNA fragments after substrate cleavage in the presence of Pb「. The detached fragments were adsorbed over AuNPs and protected against salt concentration-induced aggregation. Accordingly, high Pb^2+ would result in rapid color change from blue to pink. The established sensing principle achieved a sensitive limit of detection of 0.2×10^-9mol/L Pb^2+. with a linear working range of two orders of magnitude from 0.5×10^-9mol/L to 5×10^-9mol/L. The selectivity of the nanosensor was demonstrated by evaluating the interfering metal ions. The developed nanosensor can serve as a substitute for the rapid analysis and monitoring of trace lead levels under the drinking water distribution system and even other environmental water samples.

Healthcare seeking trends in acute respiratory infections among children of Pakistan

AIM To assess healthcare seeking trends among Pakistani children with acute respiratory infections through comparative analysis between demographic health surveys(DHS) 2006-2007 and 2012-2013. METHODS Data of the last born children 0-24 mo of age of the sampled households from both the DHS was analyzedafter seeking permission from the DHS open access website. These were children who had suffered from cough and/or breathing difficulty in the past two weeks and sought health care thereafter. The trends of health care seeking were determined separately for the individual, household and community level according to the study parameters. χ2 test was applied to compare these trends. A P-value of < 0.05 was considered significant. RESULTS Out of 2508 children in 2006-2007 there were 1590 with acute respiratory infections(ARI) according to case definition along with 2142 out of 3419 children in 2012-2013 DHS, whose data was analyzed. During 2006-2007, 69% cases sought healthcare for ARI which improved to 79% in 2012-2013. Additionally, it was revealed that when compared between 2006-2007 and 2012-2013, improvement in care seeking practices was observed among illiterate mothers(64% vs 77%) although there was minimal change in those literate. Similarly, those women working also showed an increase in healthcare seeking from 67% to 79%. Additionally, those belonging to low and middle socioeconomic class showed a marked increase as compared to those in the higher class where there was no significant change. Whereas those living in rural communities also showed an increase from 66% to 78%.CONCLUSION Increasing health budget, improving maternal education and strengthening multi-sectoral coordination are among the effective strategies to improve outcomes associated with healthcare seeking in ARI.

MicroPath-A pathway-based pipeline for the comparison of multiple gene expression profiles to identify common biological signatures

High throughput gene expression analysis is swiftly becoming the focal point for deciphering molecular mechanisms underlying various dif-ferent biological questions. Testament to this is the fact that vast volumes of expression profiles are being generated rapidly by scientists worldwide and subsequently stored in publicly available data repositories such as ArrayEx-press and the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO). Such wealth of biological data has motivated biologists to compare expression profiles gen-erated from biologically-related microarray ex-periments in order to unravel biological mecha-nisms underlying various states of diseases. However, without the availability of appropriate software and tools, they are compelled to use manual or labour-intensive methods of com-parisons. A scrutiny of current literature makes it apparent that there is a soaring need for such bioinformatics tools that cater for the multiple analyses of expression profiles. In order to contribute towards this need, we have developed an efficient software pipeline for the analysis of multiple gene expression data-sets, called Micropath, which implements three principal functions;1) it searches for common genes amongst n number of datasets using a number crunching method of comparison as well as applying the principle of permutations and combinations in the form of a search strat-egy, 2) it extracts gene expression patterns both graphically and statistically, and 3) it streams co-expressed genes to all molecular pathways belonging to KEGG in a live fashion. We sub-jected MicroPath to several expression datasets generated from our tolerance-related in-house microarray experiments as well as published data and identified a set of 31 candidate genes that were found to be co-expressed across all interesting datasets. Pathway analysis revealed their putative roles in regulating immune toler-ance. MicroPath is freely available to download from: ***/micropath.

目的:本研究旨在评估结合补充维生素D(VD)和常规治疗的治疗方案对非酒精性脂肪性肝病(NAFLD)患者的治疗效果;评估VD是否可改善NAFLD患者的BMI指数,体内的VD水平,以及评估VD对肝酶(例如AST/ALT)和NAFLD患者的一些代谢参数(例如TG,TCHO,HDL-C和LDL-C)的影响。研究的地点和持续时间:内蒙古民族大学附属医院消化内科,2020年1月至2020年9月。方法:该项前瞻性随机对照试验将166例NAFLD患者随机分为治疗组(n=86)和对照组(n=80),这些患者的AST(天门冬氨酸氨基转移酶)和ALT(丙氨酸转氨酶),TG(甘油三酯),TCHO(总胆固醇),LDL-C(低密度脂蛋白C),HDL-C(高密度脂蛋白C)偏高或正常,并且伴有VD缺乏症。治疗组(VD+SMT)摄入400mlVD,每日两次,同时改变生活方式,即常规治疗方法(SMT),为期6个月。对照组(SMT)仅接受生活方式改变这一治疗方案,为期6个月。研究设计和资料收集过程经过内蒙古民族大学附属医院伦理委员会(IRB)评审和监控,严格遵守知情同意和保密的原则。结果:与对照组(SMT)相比,治疗组(VD+SMT)的血清中ALT和AST有显著变化(ALT:VD+SMT,57.635±4.882 和 57.581±4.817(u/l),p=0.033 和 SMT,59.958±5.715 59.909±5.690(μ/l),p=0.070 和(AST:VD+SMT,46.920±4.162和46.864±4.145(μ/l),p=0.030 和 SMT,50.270±4.060 和50.256±4.053(μ/l),p=0.117),而对照组(SMT)的血清 AST/ALT 保持不变。VD水平的变化也仅在治疗组中出现,实验中治疗组和对照组的VD(VD:VD+SMT,20.985±3.732 和 21.049±3.684(ng/ml)p=0.014,SMT,26.665±1.534 和26.594±1.484(ng/ml)p=0.086)。治疗组和对照组的BMI均显示显著变化(BMI:VD+SMT,25.595±1.941 和 25.539± 1.939(kg/m2),p=0.013,SMT,26.665± 1.534和 26.594±1.484(kg/m2),p=0.011),实验表明VD对NAFLD患者的BMI没有显著影响。因为人体测量指标(例如BMI)的变化可能是由于生活方式的改变,即采取低热量饮食并定期进行体育锻炼。除此之外,治疗组和对照组均观察到代谢参数的变化,包括TG参数的变化,在治疗组(VD+SMT)中治疗前后的TG分别是:2.766±0.927和2.751±0.934(mmol/l)p=0.012,而在对照组(SMT)中治疗前后的 TG 分别是:2.307±0.865 和 2.292±0.842(mmol/l)p=0.043)。TCHO参数的变化,在治疗组(VD+SMT)中治疗前后TCHO分别是:4.194±1.046和 4.189±1.040(mmol/l),p=0.019;而在对照组(SMT)中治疗前后 TCHO 分别是:5.027±0.808 和 5.021±0.804(mmol/l),p=0.021)。HDL-C 数值的变化,在治疗组(VD+SMT)中治疗前后TCHO分别是:1.476±0.305和1.464±0.308(mmol/l),p=0.019,而在对照组(SMT)中治疗前后TCHO分别是:1.608±0.195和 1.595±0.178(mmol/l),p=0.023)。LDL-C 的数值变化:在治疗组(VD+SMT)中治疗前后的LDL-C分别是:3.516±0.754和3.512±0.752(mmol/l),p=0.022;而在对照组(SMT)中治疗前后的LDL-C分别是:3.550±0.408和3.534±0.402(mmol/l),p=0.026。研究结果观察发现治疗组和对照组的代谢参数均发生一定变化,这表明VD对NAFLD患者的代谢参数未产生显著影响。由于常规治疗方案严格的低脂低热量饮食和运动计划,也可能会导致代谢参数的变化。结论:研究结果表明,结合VD和生活方式干预(如饮食控制和体育锻炼)的治疗方案可能有助于改善NAFLD患者的BMI指数;以及VD对肝酶(例如AST/ALT)和代谢参数(例如TG,TCHO,HDL-C和LDL-C)有改善作用;并且,补充维生素D可提高NAFLD患者体内的维生素D水平,从而防止肝脂肪堆积并预防肝脏炎症。

The substitution box,often known as an S-box,is a nonlinear component that is a part of several block *** purpose is to protect cryptographic algorithms from a variety of cryptanalytic assaults.A Multi-Criteria Decision Making(MCDM)problem has a complex selection procedure because of having many options and criteria to choose *** of this,statistical methods are necessary to assess the performance score of each S-box and decide which option is the best one available based on this *** the Pythagorean Fuzzy-based Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution(TOPSIS)method,the major objective of this investigation is to select the optimal S-box to be implemented from a pool of twelve key *** the help of the Pythagorean fuzzy set(PFS),the purpose of this article is to evaluate whether this nonlinear component is suitable for use in a variety of encryption *** this article,we have considered various characteristics of S-boxes,including nonlinearity,algebraic degree,strict avalanche criterion(SAC),absolute indicator,bit independent criterion(BIC),sum of square indicator,algebraic immunity,transparency order,robustness to differential cryptanalysis,composite algebraic immunity,signal to noise ratio-differential power attack(SNR-DPA),and confusion coefficient variance on some standard S-boxes that are Advanced Encryption Following this,the findings of the investigation are changed into Pythagorean fuzzy numbers in the shape of a *** matrix is then subjected to an analysis using the TOPSIS method,which is dependent on the Pythagorean fuzzy set,to rank the most suitable S-box for use in encryption applications.
