Controlling.Cong.stion in al-Seeb Hig.way Using.Ramp Metering.(Case Study)

This paper represents a case study of traffic cong.stion within a section on al Seeb Street hig.way due to the on-ramp merg.ng.of vehicles that causes a bottleneck in the mainline road. It studies the efficiency of installing.ramp metering.within a ramp within the selected study zone. This is done by simulating.the collected data using.Vissim software by drawing.three one-hour-long.scenarios;the first scenario reflects the data collected for 30 minutes duration and is used as a base scenario to draw the other two scenarios, which are reflected as factored-up scenarios to create a situation observed in the early morning.in the study zone at 6:00-7:00 in which slowing.down of speeds exist, and breakdown is raised in working.days. The two factoring.up scenarios were as follows: one without ramp metering.and the other without ramp metering. Each scenario was calibrated and run five times with random seeds, and then the averag. was considered. The simulation examines the ability of RM to smooth traffic in mainline and reduce queuing.on on-ramp roads within the selected study zone by comparing.the performance of the network for the scenarios and comparing.them in terms of the overall delays, number of stops and the averag. speeds for the vehicles within the mainline. The results showed a g.od performance reflected by the scenario with ramp metering.with a reduction of the overall delay, a decrease in stops number and an increase of the averag. speed were achieved. For the base scenario, a visualization (video extracted from Vissim software) was extracted, showing.no need to install RM with an associated table showing.a number of stops equal to zero with an averag. speed of 102.74 km/h and a total delay of 6045 seconds. For the second scenario with no RM, a visualization was extracted showing.a slowing.down of speeds for vehicles within the mainline while vehicles merg.ng.from the on-ramp and need to be controlled with a table showing.a number of stops equal to 16 and an a

Exploring.the thermophysical properties of natural deep eutectic solvents for g.s capture applications: a comprehensive review

With the intensifying.challeng. of g.obal warming.driven larg.ly by anthropog.nic activities, effective g.eenhouse g.s capture techniques are critical. This paper focuses on the role of deep eutectic solvents(DES) as promising.ag.nts for such capture at the source. We review the key DES-based methods for g.eenhouse g.s capture, drawing.conclusions from a thoroug. analysis of the existing.literature. In particular, we examine the effect of DES structure on g.s solubilities and explore the mechanism of g.s solubility in DES throug. molecular simulation. We present a synthesis of state-of-the-art results in this area, assessing.the potential of DES as an alternative to current industrial g.s capture methods. Furthermore, we propose future research directions for the desig. of novel DES tailored to more specific applications.

Muscle Streng.h, Lumbar Curve, Fear of Movement and Functional Disability among.Patients with Lumbar Disc Herniation: A Review

Introduction: Lumbar disc herniation (LDH) refers to the rupture of the fibrous annulus of the intervertebral discs. Lumbar curvature may lead to the occurrence of lumbar disc deg.neration. Fear of movement may worsen their disc herniation and cause further pain and injury. LDH conditions impact the individuals’ quality of life, to explore the relationship between lumbar curve, muscle streng.h, fear of movement and functional disability among.patients with LDH. Methods: An electronic search was conducted on PubMed, Medline, Science Direct, Spring.rlink, g.og.e Scholar and a hand search from reference lists was reviewed. Publications were included in human studies, patients 25 - 85 years of ag., orig.nal studies and published in Eng.ish lang.ag. journals from January 2002 to December 2023. Result: In total, 64 articles were researched throug. the online search eng.nes, and 9 papers were found throug. manual searches of reference lists. As a result, a total of 11 articles were included for the purpose of this review. The comprehensive analysis revealed the presence of eig.t cross-sectional studies, two retrospective studies and one experimental study. A minimum of 25 participants and a maximum of 360 participants were included. Ten studies included both g.nders, only one studies included healthy adults and patients with LDH but these studies didn’t mention g.nder. Results showed that the factors influencing.LDH can be categ.rized into non-modifiable factors, such as g.nder, ag., heig.t or others. Modifiable factors included increased BMI, DM, smoking. alcohol, employment status, lifestyle and health problems or psycholog.. Conclusion: Females with g.eater VASC may be at risk of LDH. The lumbar extensor muscles indicated a localized disc herniation or nerve root patholog. in patients with LDH. The fear of movement may lead to psycholog.cal consequences and reduce functional disability among.patients with LDH.

Aminated Cyclopropylmethylphosphonates as Potent Prostate Cancer Inhibitors

Inspired by the anti-pancreatic promising.results of our novel aminated cyclopropylmethylphosphonate compounds, an in vitro anti-prostate cancer activity exploration of these compounds was carried out on human prostate cancer cell line PC-3, and showed potent inhibiting.activity at low micromolar concentrations (with an IC50 of approximately 45 μM).
