Goldenhar syndrome(oculo-auriculo-vertebral spectrum)is a rare congenital anomaly of unclear etiology and characterized by craniofacial anomalies such as hemifacial microsomia,auricular,ocular and vertebral *** many cases,this syndrome goes unnoticed due to a lack of knowledge about its features and because of its associated wide range of overlapping ***,we present a case of Goldenhar syndrome in a 21-year-old male,who presented all the classical signs of this rare *** article also summarizes the characteristic features of patients with Goldenhar syndrome.

The thin and porous Fluoride Conversion Coating FCC with many cracks could not offer a significant improvement in corrosion resistance for Mg. Magnesium phosphate coating improves the corrosion resistance of Mg, good bioactivity, promotes cell viability and cyto-compatibility and exhibits antibacterial activity. However, rapid dissolution in Mg in acidic magnesium phosphate containing solutions leads to the development of an inhomogeneous coating. The present study attempts to prevent the excessive dissolution of Mg by forming a fluoride conversion coating as a pre-treatment in the first stage followed by deposition of magnesium phosphate coating in the second stage to develop magnesium fluoride-magnesium phosphate duplex coatings. The morphological features, structural characteristics, nature of functional groups, corrosion behavior in Hanks’ balanced salt solution and bioactivity in simulated body fluid are assessed to ascertain the suitability of the magnesium fluoride-magnesium phosphate duplex coating in controlling the rate of degradation of Mg and improving its bioactivity using uncoated Mg and fluoride conversion coated Mg as reference. The findings of the study reveal that the magnesium fluoride-magnesium phosphate duplex coating could offer an excellent corrosion resistance and improve the bioactivity of Mg.

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma is an aggressive tumor with poor long-term *** pancreatitis(CP)is considered a risk factor for the development of pancreatic cancer(PC).Persistent pancreatic inflammation and activation of pancreatic stellate cells play a crucial role in the pathogenesis of CPrelated PC by activating the oncogene *** genetic mutations increase the possibility of recurrent and persistent pancreatic inflammation,they are not directly associated with the development of *** studies suggest that early surgical intervention for CP might have a protective role in the development of CP-related ***,the physician faces the clinical question of whether early surgical intervention should be recommended in patients with CP to prevent the development of ***,the varying relative risk of PC in different subsets of CP underlines the complex gene-environment interactions in the disease ***,it is essential to stratify the risk of PC in each individual *** review focuses on the complex relationship between CP and PC and the impact of surgical intervention on PC *** proposed risk stratification based on the genetic and environmental factors could guide future research and select patients for prophylactic surgery.

Background:The nature and duration traditional Bharatanatyam training bring about a wholesome physiological improvement in terms of balance,flexibility,stamina,and respiratory *** fitness is essential in sustaining endurance exercise,like a long dance performance,as it keeps the muscle fatigue away for *** practice improves the aerobic metabolic pathway of dancers,which is characterized by increased oxygen delivery and carbon dioxide removal in the *** current study sought to assess the aerobic fitness and cardiovascular endurance of Bharatanatyam dancers compared to ***:The study population included 30 females in the age group of 16-25 years,including 15 dancers(Group I)and 15 non-dancers(Groups II).Their VO 2max,or peak oxygen consumption,was assessed using the modified Canadian aerobic fitness test,a sub-maximal step *** two groups were compared based on demographics,BMI,VO 2max,pre and post-test heart *** analysis was performed using Microsoft *** test results were two-tailed,and a probability value(P-value)less than 0.05 was taken to be statistically ***:The analysis revealed that Bharatanatyam dancers had a significantly lower BMI(P-value=0.002),post-test heart rate(P-value=0.01),and difference in the pre and post-test heart rate(P-value=0.019);and higher VO 2max(P-value=0.000)when compared to the control *** was a significant association between the practice of Bharatanatyam and VO 2max(Fisher exact test;P-value=0.000).Within the Group I(dancers;n=15),there was a significant inverse correlation between BMI and VO 2max(r_(s)=-0.546,P-value=0.001),post-test heart rate and VO 2max(r_(s)=-0.461,P-value=0.01);and difference in the pre and post-test heart rate and VO 2max(r_(s)=-0.412,P-value=0.02).Finally,there was a mild positive correlation between practice days/week and VO 2max,although not statistically significant(r s=0.3841,P-value=0.157).Conclusion:The overall

本文对2001-2004年间,全印度2816例复治失败结核病患者的痰培养和药物敏感试验结果,在Chennai的结核病研究中心进行了回顾性分析。其中1498例(53%)被确诊为患有耐多药结核病(MDR-TB),671例(44.8%)至少耐一种二线抗结核药,分别为:490例(32.7%)耐乙硫异烟胺,245例(16.4%)耐氧氟沙星,169例(11.3%)耐卡那霉素;69例(4.6%)为广泛耐药结核病(XDR-TB)。尽管本结果是从高度选择的、不具代表性的患者人群中获得,但耐多药结核病患者中的二线抗结核药耐药率(包括XDR率)如此之高仍值得关注。因此,以高质量的DOTS服务来预防M/XDR-TB的产生,仍是目前的首要任务。此外,也需要尽快扩展在修改后的国家结核病控制规划(RNTCP)下的高质量的规划管理,以及更加规范规划之外对二线抗结核药的使用。
