Effect of Substrate and Annealing Temperatures on Mechanical Properties of Ti-rich NiTi Films

The effect of substrate and annealing temperatures on mechanical properties of Ti-rich NiTi films deposited on Si （100） substrates by Dc magnetron sputtering was studied by *** films were deposited at two substrate temperatures viz.300 and 400 ℃.NiTi films deposited at 300 ℃ were annealed for 4 h at four different temperatures,i.e.300,400,500 and 600 c whereas films deposited at 400 ℃ were annealed for 4 h at three different temperatures,i.e.400,500 and 600 ℃.The elastic modulus and hardness of the films were found to be the same in the as-deposited as well as annealed conditions for both substrate *** a given substrate temperature,the hardness and elastic modulus were found to remain unchanged as long as the films were ***,both elastic modulus and hardness showed an increase with increasing annealing temperature as the films become *** results were explained on the basis of the change in microstructure of the film with change in annealing temperature.

Study of thermal properties of supraglacial debris and degree-day factors on Lirung Glacier,Nepal

The extensive debris that covers glaciers in the ablation zone of the Himalayan region plays an important part in regulating ablation rates and water availability for the downstream region. The melt rate of ice is determined by the amount of heat conducted through debris material lying over the ice. This study presents the vertical temperature gradients, thermal properties in terms of thermal diffusivity and thermal conductivity, and positive degree-day factors for the debris-covered portion of Lirung Glacier in Langtang Valley, Nepal Himalaya using field-based measurements from three different *** measurements include debris temperatures at different debris thicknesses, air temperature, and ice melt during the monsoon(2013), winter(2013), and pre-monsoon(2014) seasons. We used a thermal equation to estimate thermal diffusivity and thermal conductivity, and degree-day factors(DDF) were calculated from cumulative positive temperature and ice melt of the measurement period. Our analysis of debris temperature profiles at different depths of debris show the daily linear gradients of-20.81 °c/m, 4.05 °c/m, and-7.79 °c/m in the monsoon, winter, and pre-monsoon seasons, respectively. The values of thermal diffusivity and thermal conductivity in the monsoon season were 10 times greater than in the winter season. The large difference in these values is attributed to surface temperature and moisture content within the debris. Similarly, we found higher values of DDFs at thinner debris for the pre-monsoon season than in the monsoon season although we observed less melting during the pre-monsoon season. This is attributed to higher cumulative temperature during the monsoon season than in the pre-monsoon season. Our study advances our understanding of heat conductivity through debris material in different seasons, which supports estimating ice melt and discharge from glacierized river basins with debris-covered glaciers in the Himalayan region.

Towards Fast Repackaging and Dynamic Authority Management on Android

In order to enhance the security of Android applications, we propose a repackaging and dynamic authority management scheme based on Android application reinforcement methods Instead of using root privileges and system modification, we introduce a user-level sandbox, which utilizes the native c-level interception mechanism, to further reinforce the risk applications and improve the entire security of Android system. Additionally, by importing and improving the repackaging features, this proposed scheme reduces the potential risks of applications and achieves the goal of the dynamic monitoring of permissions. Finally, a comprehensive evaluation, including efficiency analysis and detection evaluation with 1 000 malwares, whose overall average success rate is about 96%, shows the feasibility and univer- sality of the proposed scheme.

De-Duplication complexity of Fingerprint Data in Large-Scale Applications

De-duplication using biometrics has gained much attention from research communities as it provides a unique identity for each and every individual among the large population. De-duplication is the process of removing the instances of multiple enrollments by the same person using the person＇s biometric data. An important issue in the large-scale de-duplication applications is the speed of matching and the accuracy of the matching because the number of persons to be enrolled runs into millions. This paper presents an efficient method to improve the accuracy of fingerprint de-duplication in de-centralized manner. De-duplication accuracy decreases because of the noise present in the data, which would cause improper slap fingerprint segmentation. In this paper, an attempt is made to remove the noise present in the data by using binarization of slap fingerprint images and region labeling of desired regions with 8-adjacency neighborhood. The distinct feature of this technique is to remove the noise present in the data for an accurate slap fingerprint segmentation and improve the de-duplica- tion accuracy. Experimental results demonstrate that the fingerprint segmentation rate and de-duplication accuracy are improved significantly.

composites place a vital role in the applications of material science,***,automobile,marine,*** reinforcement composites are a trending research area in the field of metal matrix *** this research article dual reinforcement,*** silicate(ZrSiO4)and carbon,is added to molten LM13 using the stir casting process in terms of(as cast),(3+3)mass%,(6+3)mass%,(9+3)mass%and(12+3)mass%respectively,using copper as a chill kept toward one *** tensile,the hardness,and the microstructure of the composite specimens at the chill end and non chill end are *** results are compared with analytical results and *** is found an increase in reinforcement and chilling effect enhances the properties of the *** ultimate tensile strength(UTS)and the hardness increase gradually with the increase in ZrSiO4 *** maximum UTS,the hardness and the signal to noise ratio(S/N ratio)for mechanical characterizations are evaluated using Taguchi *** is found that 9 mass%of ZrSiO4 yields better results than the other *** are tabulated and compared using statistical *** studies reveal the uniform distribution of matrix and reinforcements with negligible agglomeration.
