Viscoelasticity and poroelasticity commonly coexist as time-dependent behaviors in polymer gels. Engineering applications often require knowledge of both behaviors separated; however, few methods exist to decouple viscoelastic and poroelastic properties of gels. We propose a method capable of separating viscoelasticity and poroelasticity of gels in various mechanical tests. The viscoelastic char- acteristic time and the poroelastic diffusivity of a gel define an intrinsic material length scale of the gel. The experimen- tal setup gives a sample length scale, over which the solvent migrates in the gel. By setting the sample length to be much larger or smaller than the material length, the viscoelasticity and poroelasticity of the gel will dominate at different time scales in a test. Therefore, the viscoelastic and poroelastic properties of the gel can be probed separately at different time scales of the test. We further validate the method by finite-element models and stress-relaxation experiments.

Energy levels and emission line wavelengths of high-Z materials are useful for impurity diagnostics due to their potential application in the next generation fusion *** this purpose,we have calculated the fine structural energies of the 67 levels belonging to the 1s 2,1s2l,1s3l,1s4l,1s5l,and 1s6l configurations of Kr XXXV using GRASP（general purpose relativistic atomic structure package） ***,we have reported the transition probabilities,oscillator strengths,line strengths,and transition wavelengths for some electric dipole（E1） transitions among these *** predict new energy levels and radiative rates,which have not been reported experimentally or theoretically,forming the basis for future experimental work.

Using 10-year (2001 10) monthly evaporation, precipitation, and sea surface salinity (SSS) datasets, the relationship between local freshwater flux and SSS in the north Indian Ocean (NIO) is evaluated quantitatively. The results suggest a highly positive linear correlation between freshwater flux and SSS in the Arabian Sea (correlation coefficient, R=0.74) and the western equatorial Indian Ocean (R=0.73), whereas the linear relationships are relatively weaker in the Bay of Bengal (R=0.50) and the eastern equatorial Indian Ocean (R=0.40). Additionally, the interannual variations of freshwater flux and SSS and their mutual relationship are investigated in four sub- regions for pre-monsoon, monsoon, and post-monsoon seasons separately. The satellite retrievals of SSS from the Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity (SMOS) and Aquarius missions can provide continuous and consistent SSS fields for a better understanding of its variability and the differences between the freshwater flux and SSS signals, which are commonly thought to be linearly related.

Tin oxide(SnO_(2)) and iron-doped tin oxide(Sn_(1-x)Fe_(x)O_(2),x=0.05 wt%,0.10 wt%) nanoparticles are synthesized by the simple sol-gel *** structural characterization using x-ray diffraction(XRD) confirms tetragonal rutile phases of the *** variations in lattice parameters and relative intensity with Fe-doping concentration validate the incorporation of iron into the *** compressive strain present in the lattice estimated by using peak profile analysis through using Williamson-Hall plot also exhibits the influence of grain boundary formation in the *** radiative recombination and quenching observed in optical characterization by using photoluminescence spectrum(PL) and the shift in the band gap estimated from UV-visible diffused reflectance spectrum corroborate the grain boundary *** spectrum and the morphological analysis by using a field emission scanning electron microscope(FESEM) also indicate the formation of grain *** compositional analysis by using energy dispersive x-ray spectrum(EDAX) confirms Fe in the SnO_(2) *** conductivity studies exhibit that the impendence increases with doping concentration increasing and the loss factor decreases at high frequencies with doping concentration increasing,which makes the Sn_(1-x)Fe_(x)O_(2) a potential candidate for device applications.

In this study, a Discriminator Model for Glaucoma Diagnosis (DMGD)using soft computing techniques is presented. As the biomedical images such asfundus images are often acquired in high resolution, the Region of Interest (ROI)for glaucoma diagnosis must be selected at first to reduce the complexity of anysystem. The DMGD system uses a series of pre-processing;initial cropping by thegreen channel’s intensity, Spatially Weighted Fuzzy c Means (SWFcM), bloodvessel detection and removal by Gaussian Derivative Filters (GDF) and inpaintingalgorithms. Once the ROI has been selected, the numerical features such as colour, spatial domain features from Local Binary Pattern (LBP) and frequencydomain features from LAWS are generated from the corresponding ROI forfurther classification using kernel based Support Vector Machine (SVM). TheDMGD system performances are validated using four fundus image databases;ORIGA, RIM-ONE, DRISHTI-GS1, and HRF with four different kernels;LinearKernel (LK), Polynomial Kernel (PK), Radial Basis Function (RBFK) kernel,Quadratic Kernel (QK) based SVM classifiers. Results show that the DMGD system classifies the fundus images accurately using the multiple features and kernelbased classifies from the properly segmented ROI.

cognitive Radio (cR) uses the principle of dynamic spectrum allocation to improve the utilization of spectrum bands. The estimation of missing data is essential for maintaining an uninterrupted quality of service in the cR. However, the existing methods are not suitable for interpolating missing data in high frequency signals. The storage of spectrum occupancy information is crucial for learning the spectrum usage and prediction. The existing techniques for wideband spectrum sensing suffer from poor edge detection capabilities. This paper proposes an STransformation (ST) based approach to solve these problems. For missing samples, the proposed method improves the accuracy of estimation. The ST can also be used to store the spectrum occupancy information. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms others by improving the accuracy of edge detection. Further, the simple implementation of the ST in the frequency domain is an advantage for the real time application.
