Ensuring a.high ma.ufa.turing test qua.ity of a. integra.ed electronic circuit ma.da.es the a.plica.ion of a.la.ge volume test set. Even if the test da.a.ca. be fit into the memory of a. externa. tester, the consequent increa.e in test a.plica.ion time reflects into eleva.ed production costs. Test da.a.compression solutions ha.e been proposed to a.dress the test time a.d da.a.volume problem by storing a.d delivering the test da.a.in a.compressed forma., a.d subsequently by expa.ding the da.a.on-chip. In this pa.er, we propose a.sca. cell positioning methodology tha. a.compa.ies a.compression technique in order to boost the compression ra.io, a.d squa.h the test da.a.even further. While we present the a.plica.ion of the proposed a.proa.h in conjunction with the fa.-out ba.ed decompression a.chitecture, this a.proa.h ca. be extended for a.plica.ion a.ong with other compression solutions a. well. The experimenta. results a.so confirm the compression enha.cement of the proposed methodology.
