The nonlinear operation of metal oxide varistor(MOV)-protected series compensator in transmission lines introduces complications into fault detection approaches. The accuracy of a conventional fault detection schemes is adversely affected by continuous change of the system impedance and load current at the point of a series compensation unit. Thus, this study suggests a method for detecting the faulted phase in MOV-protected series-compensated transmission lines. Primarily, the fault feature is identified using the covariance coefficients of the current samples during the fault period and the current samples during the pre-fault period. Furthermore, a convenience fault detection index is established by applying the cumulative sum technique. Extensive validation through different fault circumstances is accomplished, including different fault positions,resistances, and inception times. The experimental results show that the proposed method performs well with high resistance or impedance faults, faults in noisy conditions, and close-in and far-end faults. The proposed method is simple and efficient for faulty phase detection in MOV-protected series-compensated transmission lines.

Solar energy,a renewable resource,can be harnessed instead of fossil fuels to generate power and *** effective method for converting solar energy into heat is through a solar air heating(SAH)*** theoretical investigation focused on the thermal performance of various V-groove angles on a corrugated absorber *** researchers maintained the exterior dimensions and constraints of the absorber plate while increasing its surface area by using a corrugated absorber *** the simulation,three different V-groove angles were employed:45°,30°,and 15°.The temperature and air flow rate into the system had been set at 30℃ and 0.15 m/s,respectively four various solar radiation intensities have been examined for each of the *** governing equations associated with the standard design,including the turbulent kinetic energy(k)and dissipation rates model(ε),were solved using the ANSYS 2020 R2 *** results indicated that Utilizing corrugated absorber plates resulted in a rise in the Nusselt number.,surpassing the performance of flat plate *** the different configurations,the V-grooved 45°plate demonstrated the best results under the same ***,it was observed that the efficiency values improved with increasing solar *** investigation also showed that the employing of V-grooved 45°,V-grooved 30°,and V-grooved 15°absorbers led to efficiency improvements of about 20.8%,26.3%,and 36.14%,respectively,when compared to a flat plate at a solar irradiation of 900 W/m2.

The position control system of an electro-hydraulic actuator system （EHAS） is investigated in this paper. The EHAS is developed by taking into consideration the nonlinearities of the system： the friction and the internal leakage. A variable load that simulates a realistic load in robotic excavator is taken as the trajectory reference. A method of control strategy that is implemented by employing a fuzzy logic controller （FLC） whose parameters are optimized using particle swarm optimization （PSO） is proposed. The scaling factors of the fuzzy inference system are tuned to obtain the optimal values which yield the best system performance. The simulation results show that the FLC is able to track the trajectory reference accurately for a range of values of orifice opening. Beyond that range, the orifice opening may introduce chattering, which the FLC alone is not sufficient to overcome. The PSO optimized FLC can reduce the chattering significantly. This result justifies the implementation of the proposed method in position control of EHAS.

Due to rapid urbanization around the world,high concentrations of vehicular pollutants have deteriorated the outdoor air quality,which can affect the physical and psychological well-being of *** strategies have been proposed to overcome these harmful impacts by improving the dispersion of air ***,a question arises regarding the potential effects of building morphology on the dispersion of ***,transient three-dimensional Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD)simulations are performed to examine the effect of building morphology on PM10 *** cases with various prototypes and morphological methods are compared with a simple building form to identify the patterns of PM10 dispersion within a given time sequence under a prevailing inflow *** results indicate that the different designs of building morphology with varying Relative compactness(RC)indicator highlight the importance of considering morphological factors to improve outdoor air *** addition,the proposed prototypes can reduce PM10 concentrations by approximately 30%e90%at specific points in the studied time *** particular,the vertical,horizontal,and grid folded prototypes can be considered more effective as an approximate decrease between 70%and 90%in PM10 concentrations is observed,which reflects the influence of building morphology on improving outdoor air quality.

Dear editor,Family physicians often serve as the primary resource for parents seeking medical treatment for their children,and it is not uncommon for children with medical emergencies to be brought into primary care offices instead of local emergency departments(EDs).Although estimated incidence rates of pediatric emergencies in primary care offices vary based on the definition used,the number of patients seen,and clinic location,[1-3]any healthcare provider who sees pediatric patients should be ready for immediate medical intervention to minimize adverse outcomes.[4,5]Various studies in the USA have shown that outpatient offices are not adequately prepared for pediatric emergencies,whether that is defined as stocking recommended equipment,having policies for the transport of patients to EDs,engaging in mock codes,or being certified in Advanced Pediatric Life Support(APLS)or Basic Life Support(BLS).[1-3]This deficit in preparedness exists despite the presence of multiple nation-and state-wide guidelines on the subject,including a policy by the American Academy of Pediatrics.[3]Limited information exists on the preparedness of primary care physicians for pediatric emergencies in other nations.
