A model is presented of particle advection near groynes in an open channel. Open channel hydrodynamics is modelled using the shallow water equations, obtained as the depth-averaged form of Reynolds-averaged continuity and Navier-Stokes momentum equations. A Lagrangian particle-tracking model is used to predict trajectories of tracer particles advected by the flow field, with bilinear interpolation representing the continuous flow field. The particle-tracking model is verified for chaotic advection in an alternating flow field of a pair of blinking vortices. The combined shallow flow and Lagrangian particle-tracking model is applied to the simulation of tracer advection in flow past a pair of side-wall cavities separated by a groyne, and in an open rectangular channel containing a pair of parallel groynes oriented normal to the channel wall. The study is potentially useful in understanding mixing processes in shallow flow fields near hydraulic structures in wide rivers.

Objective:To investigate the effect of hydro-ethanolic extract of Zataria multiflora(***)on endothelin level,total and differential white blood cells(WBC)count of sensitized guinea ***:Five groups of guinea pigs sensitized to ovalbumin(OA)were given drinking water alone(group S),drinking water containing three concentrations of ***(0.2,0.4 and 0.8 mg/mL as groups S+Z1,S+Z2 and S+Z3)and dexamethasone(group S+D),n=6 for each *** endothelin levels as well as total and differential WBC count in blood of sensitized and control guinea pigs were evaluated using enzyme linked immunosorbent assay method,and hemocytometer and Wright-Giemsa’s staining of blood sample smear ***:Blood endothelin levels,total and most differential WBC count were increased but lymphocytes decreased in sensitized animals compared to controls(all P<0.01).In groups S+D,S+Z2 and S+Z3 endothelin level,total and differential WBC counts were significantly improved compared with group S(P<0.01).Although,all measured parameters in group S+Z1 was lower than group S+D(P<0.01),some parameters in group S+Z3 were greater than in group S+D(P<0.05 to P<0.01).Conclusion:The results showed an anti-inflammatory effect of *** extract in sensitized guinea pigs,which may suggest a therapeutic potential for the plant on asthma.

An extraction-spectrophotometric method for the determination of trace amounts of fluconazole was described. Fluconazole was effectively extracted as a 1 ： 1 ion-pair complex with bromocresole green （BCG） at pH 3.0 into chloroform, followed by spectrophotometric determination at 420 nm. Beer＇s law was obeyed over the range of 4-50 μ***^-1 of fluconazole with a detection limit of 3.7 μ***^-1 . The method is simple, rapid and sensitive. The procedure was applied to the determination of fluconazole in pharmaceutical preparations as well as its recovery from a blood serum sample.

Feedforward Neural Network(FNN)is one of the most popular neural network models that is utilized to solve a wide range of nonlinear and complex *** models such as stochastic gradient descent have been developed to train ***,they mainly suffer from falling into local optima leading to reduce the accuracy of ***,the convergence speed of training process depends on the initial values of weights and biases in ***,these values are randomly determined by most of the training *** deal with these issues,in this paper,we develop a novel evolutionary algorithm by modifying the original version of Whale Optimization Algorithm(WOA).To this end,a nonlinear function is introduced to improve the exploration and exploitation phases in the search process of ***,the modified WOA is applied to automatically obtain the initial values of weights and biases in FNN leading to reduce the probability of falling into local *** addition,the FNN model trained by the modified WOA is used to develop a classification approach for medical diagnosis *** medical diagnosis datasets are utilized to evaluate the efficiency of the proposed ***,four evaluation metrics including accuracy,AUC,specificity,and sensitivity are used in the experiments to compare the performance of classification *** experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method is better than other competing classification models due to achieving higher values of accuracy,AUC,specificity,and sensitivity metrics for the used datasets.

We introduce for the first time the concept of anamorphic temporal imaging and its application to analog data compression in a time *** in front of a conventional spectrometer,this technique enhances the spectral resolution and the update *** importantly,it performs real-time optical data compression to reduce the volume of the generated digital *** technique introduces the concept of the warped time *** show that a specific class of warped time-to-frequency mapping operations combined with the nonlinear operation inherent in a photo-detector compresses the time-bandwidth product in a temporal imaging *** employ our newly introduced Stretched Modulation Distribution to design the warp *** this method,the narrow spectral features beyond the spectrometer resolution can be captured and at the same time the output bandwidth and hence the record length is *** reduction in the record length results in higher update rate for the spectrometer without sacrificing the spectral resolution or *** method also benefits from amplitude and phase detection to recover the input complex-field *** compressing the time-bandwidth product,anamorphictemporal imaging addresses the Big Data problem in such high-throughput instruments.

Effects of Common Ions on Zn Sorption in Some Calcareous Soils of Western Iran

Zinc （Zn） is essential to plant growth and relatively mobile in soils. This study was conducted to assess the effect of common ions （Ca2＋, K＋, Na＋, NH＋, CI-, NO3-, and H2PO4） on sorption of Zn in surface samples of ten calcareous soils from western Iran using 10 mmol L-1 KC1, KNO3, KH2P04, Ca（N03）2, NAN03, and NH4N03 solutions as background electrolytes. The results indicated that both NH＋, K＋, and Ca2＋ equally decreased Zn sorption as compared to Na＋. Zinc sorption was decreased by H2PO4- as compared to NO3 and Cl-. The Langmuir and Freundlich equations fitted closely to the sorption data of all ions. The Langmuir maximum, bonding energy constant, and Freundlich distribution coefficient for Zn sorption differed among the various ionic background electrolytes. Langmuir sorption parameters showed that the presence of H2PO4- decreased the maximum Zn adsorbed, but increased the bonding energy. Although K＋ and NH＋ equally influenced maximum Zn adsorbed, they differed in their effect on the distribution coefficient of Zn in soils. Values of saturation index calculated using Visual MINTEQ indicated that at the low Zn concentration, Zn solubility was controlled by sorption reactions and at the high Zn concentration, it was mainly controlled by sorption and mineral precipitation reactions, such as precipitation of Zn3（PO4）2.4H2O, Zn5（OH）6（CO3）2, and ZnCO3. For most ionic background electrolytes, soil pH, CaC03, and cation exchange capacity （CEC） were significantly correlated with sorption parameters.

OBJECTIVES： Single nucleotide polymorphisms （SNPs）, genetic background, and epigenetics play important roles in rheumatoid arthritis （RA）. These factors can be useful in RA diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment response evaluation, particularly with the growing trends in personalized medicine. Therefore, categorizing classic genes and SNPs in RA can present an appropriate guideline for RA management. DISCUSSION： Prognostic and diagnostic biomarkers play important roles in RA diagnosis and treatment. Categorizing SNPs is not an easy process yet, but selecting classic SNPs can be useful worldwide, according to basic similarities that exist in genomes. In this review, we compiled some of these RA-associated SNPs and biomarkers in a table, according to newly identified factors. The role of epigenetics in RA is undeniable; using epigenetic biomarkers like histone deacetylase （HDACs） can be useful in RA diagnosis and treatment, miRs such as miR-146a, miR-155, and miR-222 are useful in diagnosis and can be used in treatment by interfering with other factors＇ functions. Interleukins （ILs） seem to be good prognostic and diagnostic markers and can be targeted in RA treatment. CONCLUSION： Using multiple types of biomarkers, such as useful in RA management and treatment. PTPN22, HLA-DR genes, SNPs, and epigenetic biomarkers like HDACs can be polymorphisms, miRs, and HDACs are considerable in RA susceptibility; hence, they can be valuable biomarkers in future studies. This article gathered separate information from approximately 100 articles to present useful biomarkers and polymorphisms in one review.

Highly selective separation of CO_2 from its methane-containing binary gas mixture can be achieved by using Poly(ether-block-amide)(PEBAX)mixed matrix membranes(MMMs).According to FESEM and AFM analyses,silica-based nanoparticles were homogenously integrated within the polymer matrix,facilitating penetration of CO_2 through the membrane while acting as barrier for methane *** membrane containing 4.6 wt% fumed silica(FS)(PEBAX/4.6 wt%FS)exhibits astonishing selectivity results where binary gas mixture of CO_2/CH_4 was used as feed *** detected by gas chromatography,in the permeate side,data showed a significant increase of CO_2 permeance,while CH_4 transport through the mixed matrix membrane was not ***,PEBAX/4.6 wt%FS greatly exceeds the Robeson *** to data reported on CO_2/CH_4 gas pair separation in the literature,the results achieved in this work are beyond those data reported in the literature,particularly when PEBAX/4.6 wt%FS membrane was utilized.
