Interaction of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide with drug in aqueous/electrolyte solution:A combined conductometric and molecular dynamics method study

Interaction between beta-lactum antibiotic drug ciprofloxacin hydrochloride(CFH)and cationic surfactant cetyltrimethylammonium bromide(CTAB)was performed conductometrically in aqueous as well as in the occurrence of different salts(NaCl,KCl as well as NH_4Cl)over the temperature range of 298.15–323.15 K at the regular interval of 5 *** drug has been suggested for the treatment of bacterial infections such as urinary tract infections and acute sinusitis.A clear critical micelle concentration(CMC)was obtained for pure CTAB as well as(CFH+CTAB)mixed *** decrease in CMC values of CTAB caused by the addition of CFH reveals the existence of the interaction between the components and therefore it is the indication of micelle formation at lower concentration of CTAB and their CMC values further decrease in attendance of salts.A nonlinear behavior in the CMC versus T plot was observed in all the *** ΔG_m^0 values are found to be negative in present study systems demonstrated the stability of the *** values of ΔH_m^0 and ΔS_m^0 reveal the existence of hydrophobic and electrostatic interactions between CFH and *** thermodynamic properties of transfer for the micellization were also evaluated and discussed in *** dynamic simulation disclosed that environment of water and salts have impact on the hydrophobic interaction between CFH and *** water and salts,CTAB adopts spherical micelle in which charged hydrophilic groups are interacted with waters whereas hydrophobic tails form the core of the *** hydrophobic core region is highly conserved and *** addition,micelle formation is more favorable in aqueous Na Cl solution than other solutions.

Interactions of ciprofloxacin hydrochloride(CPFH)with sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS)were investigated by conductivity measurement in H2O/electrolyte solutions(NaCl,Na2SO4&Na3PO4)over 298.15–318.15 K temperature range(with 5 K interval)considering the human body *** all cases,two critical micelle concentrations(c*)were observed which are increased in the presence of drug and decreased in the presence of salts enunciating the presence of interaction amongst the studied ***(CPFH+SDS)system in the presence of salt,the c*values at 303.15 K and I=0.50 mmol·kg^-1 followed the order:CNaCl>CNa2SO4>***ΔG1,m0 andΔG2,m0values are found to be negative for all systems that show that the micellization process is thermodynamically ***(CPFH+SDS)system in water,theΔHm0&ΔSm0 values reveal that the micellization processes is both entropy dominated in almost all *** the occurrence of electrolytes,ΔHm0 andΔSm0 values indicate that micellization processes are both entropy&enthalpy restricted at upper temperature but it becomes totally entropy dependent at higher *** higher positiveΔSm0 values indicate the enhanced hydrophobic interaction in presence of *** enthalpy-entropy compensation was determined from the linear relationship betweenΔHm0 andΔSm0 values in every *** transfer energies as well as compensation temperature and intrinsic enthalpy were also evaluated and the behaviors were comparable to other biological system.

Impact of industrial effluent on growth and yield of rice(Oryza sativa L.) in silty clay loam soil

Degradation of soil and water from discharge of untreated industrial effluent is alarming in Bangladesh. Therefore, buildup of heavy metals in soil from contaminated effluent, their entry into the food chain and effects on rice yield were quantified in a pot experiment. The treatments were comprised of 0, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% industrial effluents applied as irrigation water. Effluents, initial soil, different parts of rice plants and post-harvest pot soil were analyzed for various elements, including heavy metals. Application of elevated levels of effluent contributed to increased heavy metals in pot soils and rice roots due to translocation effects, which were transferred to rice straw and grain. The results indicated that heavy metal toxicity may develop in soil because of contaminated effluent *** metals are not biodegradable, rather they accumulate in soils, and transfer of these metals from effluent to soil and plant cells was found to reduce the growth and development of rice plants and thereby contributed to lower yield. Moreover, a higher concentration of effluent caused heavy metal toxicity as well as reduction of growth and yield of rice, and in the long run a more aggravated situation may threaten human lives,which emphasizes the obligatory adoption of effluent treatment before its release to the environment, and regular monitoring by government agencies needs to be ensured.

Antioxidant compounds and minerals in tomatoes by Trichodermaenriched biofertilizer and their relationship with the soil environments

The experiment was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of Trichoderma-enriched biofertilizer（BioF/compost）on antioxidants and minerals in ripe tomatoes and soil health improvements in terms of nutrient availability and microbial *** study was comprised of six treatments：control（zero input）;recommended doses of NPK（135.5,45.6 and 22.9 kg ha^-1,respectively）;100%BioF/compost;75%BioF/compost＋25%N;50%BioF/compost＋50%N;and 25%BioF/compost＋75%*** recommended doses of P and K were used in the last three *** was found that the application of 100%BioF/compost enhanced plant growth,leaf greenness,and produced 12.9%higher yield compared to the recommended doses of NPK and other *** contents（P,K,Ca,Mg,Cu,Fe,Mn and Zn）in tomato roots,shoots and fruits and antioxidant compounds,i.e.,ascorbic acid,β-carotine,and lycopene were increased significantly in fruits fertilized with100%BioF/*** high efficiency of Trichoderma compost might be the result of its potential of nutrient solubilization and harboring soil ***,BioF/compost increased soil fertility and favored growth of microbes in the rhizosphere which ultimately contributed to higher yield,antioxidant,and mineral concentrations in ***,Trichoderma-enriched biofertilizer may reduce application of chemical fertilizers and therefore,can be considered as a noble practice in sustainable agriculture.

One primordial consideration in residential ventilation standards is the comfort of provided to people living in those *** is highly dependent on the thermal and fluid flow conditions,the space geometry and so *** designs may reduce the energy usage,making the buildings more sustainable over a longer period of *** study aims to investigate the impact of whole day thermal conditions on the fluid flow structure and heat transfer phenomena,mainly natural convection,inside a partitioned attic-shaped *** Finite Volume Method is applied to solve the governing *** thermal boundary condition is applied on the sloping walls to illustrate the characteristics of primary flow through daily cycles.A highly thermal conductive partition was placed vertically at the middle of the *** that through the partition,only heat could freely transfer between two fluid *** show that,during day time,a stratified fluid flow structure is obtained,which originates from the prevailing conduction heat transfer mechanism,while,for the night-time it changed into a strong convection mechanism which significantly affects the flow *** results are particularly important for understanding the fluid dynamics inside the attic shaped building and also designing new residential building.

Conversion of Municipal Waste Plastic into Liquid Hydrocarbon Fuel Using a Stainless Steel Reactor

Plastic wastes from milk containers, soft drink bottles, plastic wraps, plastic flatware, etc. have been successfully converted into fuel. Two approaches for the conversion of waste post consumer plastic into fuel have been investigated：（1） muffle furnace to reactor liquefaction system; （2） direct liquefaction system. Majority of used plastics are derived from ethylene, propylene, butadiene and benzene. Waste plastics are plastics that are used by the people in their daily life. It is collected from outside and city municipalities. Some of them are coded and rests are non-coded. A developed process discussed in this paper works with most of the waste plastic, both coded and non-coded. The plastics are heated up at 120-380 ℃ temperature to melt. The gaseous vapor is then condensed into liquid fuel.

Alternative Gasoline Produce from Abundant Solid Waste Plastics

Plastics are macromolecules, formed by polymerization of hydrocarbon materials that are derived from commercial crude oils. Plastics are being used all over the world and afterward many of the plastics become waste materials. Waste plastics do not biodegrade in landfills; are not easily recycled and degrade in quality during the recycling process. Instead of biodegradation, waste plastics goes through photo-degradation and turns into plastic dusts which can enter food chain and can cause complex health issues to habitants. According to recent study, United States produces ~30 million tons of waste plastics per year. Natural State Research Inc. (NSR) has developed a thermal degradation process, which produces liquid hydrocarbon fuel materials from these abundant sources of waste plastics. During the thermal process the plastics are melted at a range of 370-420 °C. This fuel produced burns more efficiently than commercial gasoline and diesel and would be produced at a lower over all production cost.

Parents Perceived Quality of Life for Children with Cochlear Implants

The purpose of the study is to identify the important aspects of quality of life assessed in children with cochlear implant. Parental Perspective questionnaire with modified in Bangla was used as a data collection tool in this study. Data was collected through face to face interview with 25 parents of children with Cochlear Implant (CI) attended at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Dhaka. Among 25 cochlear implant children, the boys (12) and girls (13) were nearly the same. Results indicated that the majority of the children had difficulties with communication with known people (48.00%) and before implantation children with CI obtained no benefit at all from hearing aids (76.00%). However, the research finding shows that they are largely satisfied with the outcomes from implantation. Improvement of social relationship, family well-being, within the family, educational condition, and self-reliance was satisfactorily reported by the parents. This study would help the clinician, speech pathologist, children and parents to raise awareness about the impact of CI and its treatment.

Environmentally Harmful Low Density Waste Plastic Conversion into Kerosene Grade Fuel

Plastics wastes from a municipal solid waste (MSW) plant have a high-energy content and are suitable for fuel generation. Thermal cracking is one of the possible ways to obtain petrochemical feedstock from polymer wastes. Municipal waste plastic of LDPE conversion to kerosene grade fuel experiments were carried out under atmospheric conditions at temperatures between 150℃ and 420℃. Low density polyethylene (LDPE) plastic waste (Code #2) was thermally depolymerized in batch process into stainless steel reactor without adding catalyst. The maximum kerosene grade fuel yield is 30%, other grade fuel 60%, light gas 6% and left over residue 4%. The composition, sulphur and Btu value of liquid products were determined by ASTM method. Produced fuel was analyzed by Gas Chromatography and Mass Spectrometer and FT-IR. Very high conversions from LDPE waste plastic to kerosene grade fuel (up to 35%) were obtained while using this technique. Detailed product analyses and characterization lead to a reasonable explanation of reaction pathways and mechanisms.
