Purpose： The administrative data from trauma centers could serve as potential sources of invaluable information while studying epidemiologic features of car accidents. In this cross-sectional analysis of Shahid Rajaee hospital administrative data, we aimed to evaluate patients injured in car accidents in terms of age, gender, injury severity, injured body regions and hospitalization outcome in the recent four years （2011-2014）. Methods： The hospital registry was accessed at Shiraz Trauma Research Center （Shiraz, lran） and the admission＇s unit data were merged with the information gathered upon discharge. A total number of 27,222 car accident patients aged over 15 years with International Classification of Diseases 10th revision （ICD-10） external causes of injury codes （V40.9-V49.9） were analyzed. Injury severity score and injured body regions were determined based on converting ICD-10 injury codes to Abbreviated Injury Scale （AIS- 98） severity codes using a domestically developed electronic algorithm. A binary logistic regression model was applied to the data to examine the contribution of all independent variables to in-hospital mortality. Results： Men accounted for 68.9% of the injuries and the male to female ratio was 2.2：1. The age of the studied population was （34 ±15） years, with more than 77.2% of the population located in the 15-45 years old age group. Head and neck was the most commonly injured body region （39.0%） followed by extremities （27.2%）. Injury severity score （ISS） was calculated for 13,152 （48.3%） patients, of whom, 80.9% had severity scores less than 9. There were 332 patients （1.2%） admitted to the intensive care units and 422 in-hospital fatalities （1.5%） were recorded during the study period. Age above 65 years [OR = 7.4, 95%, CI （5.0-10.9）], ISS above 16 [OR - 9.1, 95% CI （5.5-14.9）], sustaining a thoracic inJury [OR - 7.4, 95%, CI （4.6 -11.9）] and head injury [OR - 4.9, 95%, CI （3.1-7.6）] were the most important independent predictors of dea

·AIM:To identify various risk factors that may play a significant role in the development of congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction(CNLDO).·METHODS:This observational case-control study included a case group of 122 children less than two years of age with CNLDO who underwent probing and irrigation treatment at the ophthalmology department of Imam Khomeini Hospital in Ahvaz,Iran,from June 2022 to June2024.A control group of 122 age-matched children without CNLDO was also included for *** was collected from the children's medical records.·RESULTS:The study found a significant correlation between the occurrence of CNLDO and several maternal factors,such as preeclampsia,the use of levothyroxine,hypothyroidism,having more than three pregnancies(gravidity>3),natural pregnancy,and gestational diabetes ***,in children,factors,such as oxygen therapy,anemia,reflux,jaundice,and a family history of CNLDO in first-degree relatives were associated with CNLDO,and maternal preeclampsia and hypothyroidism were found to significantly increase the risk of developing CNLDO in children.·CONCLUSION:Given that CNLDO affects both premature and full-term children,the present findings may potentially facilitate the early identification of children and infants at risk of nasolacrimal duct obstruction,thereby preventing the onset of chronic dacryocystitis.

The Mianrahan’s ophiolitic complex out crops in the northeast of Kermanshah and along with the Zagros thrust zone. In Mianrahan sheet, these ophiolites are located along the NW-SE and parallel to the Zagros Thrust in the ground. The rocks of this ophiolite complex consist of peridotite, serpentinites, gabbro, dolerite dykes, basaltic lavas associated with marine sediments containing the cretaceous limestones, siliceous limestones and radiolarites. Stratification of this ophiolitic complex is similar to lithological facies sequence of the oceanic crust. However, in some parts, it could be seen as scattered and melanged in the ground. Petrographic study of Mianrahan’s ophiolitic complex started with the ultramafic sequence and followed by sedimentary rocks.

The participation of distributed energy resources in the load restoration procedure,known as intentional islanding,can significantly improve the distribution system *** system reconfiguration can effectively alter islanding procedure and thus provide an opportunity to supply more demanded energy and reduce distribution system *** addition,high-impact events such as hurricanes and earthquakes may complicate the procedure of load restoration,due to the disconnection of the distribution system from the upstream grid or concurrent component *** paper presents a two-level method for intentional islanding of a reconfigurable distribution system,considering high-impact *** thefirst level,optimal islands are selected according to the graph model of the distribution *** the second level,an optimal power flow(OPF)problem is solved to meet the operation constraints of the islands by reactive power control and demand side *** proposed problem in the first level is solved by a combination of depth first search and particle swarm optimization *** OPF problem in the second level is solved in DIgSILENT *** proposed method is implemented in the IEEE 69-bus test system,and the results show the validity and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

Comparison among Cornelian Cherry and <i>Prunus cerasus</i>According to Phenolic Content and Antioxidant Capacity by Three Various Methods of Extraction

Cornelian cherry and Prunus cerasus with red pigments possess precious source of flavonoids and phenolic acids which have various applications in treatment of various health problems. This study is conducted to compare different methods of extraction (shaking incubator, soxhelet, ultrasonic) were applied in order to identify the best method which shows the highest rate of antioxidant capacity by DPPH and ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) methods and total phenolic compounds via Folin-Ciocalteu procedure, p-coumaric acid content of fruits were evaluated by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). As a result, cornelian cherry with 1313.13 mg/Kg average TPC score exhibits higher total phenolic content than Prunus cerasus with 1270 mg/Kg. It’s notice worthy that there was a slight difference among antioxidant activity in two fruits. Consequently, DPPH revealed nearly stronger antioxidant activity for Prunus cerasus while cornelian cherry had a little more potent antioxidant activity according to FRAP Test. p-coumaric acid content was almost twice in Prunus cerasus (10.8 mg/ml) than cornelian cherry (5.6 mg/ml). In addition, both shaking incubator and ultrasonic extraction procedures were more efficient than soxhelet in two fruits.
