BACKGROUND While prior data showed an increasing incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)in the United States,there are limited comprehensive and comparative data on the geographical variations of HCC trends in different demographicspecific *** To evaluate sex and age-specific incidence rates and time trends in different geographical regions in the United *** Age-adjusted HCC incidence rates were collected from the United States Cancer Statistics(USCS)database which covers approximately 98%of the population in the United *** rates were stratified by sex,age,and geographical *** percentage change(APC)and average APC(AAPC)were estimated using Joinpoint Regression.A pairwise comparison was conducted between sex-specific *** There were 467344 patients diagnosed with HCC in the United States in the USCS database between 2001 and *** rates and trends varied by geographical *** looking at the West region(115336 patients),incidence rates of HCC were overall increasing and also increasing in older ***,when evaluating younger adults,HCC incidence rates decreased in men but not in women with a sex-specific absolute AAPC-difference of 2.15(P=0.005).When evaluating the Midwest region(84612 patients),similar results were *** incidence rates were increasing in the overall population and in older adults as well,they were decreasing in younger men but not in women with a sex-specific absolute AAPC-difference of 1.61(P<0.001).For the Northeast region(87259 patients),the analysis showed similar results with decreasing HCC incidence rates in younger men but not counterpart women(Sex-specific AAPC-difference=3.26,P<0.001).Lastly,when evaluating the south(180137 patients),the results were also decreasing in younger men but not in women(Sex-specific AAPC-difference=2.55,P<0.001).CONCLUSION Nationwide analysis covering around 98%of the United States population shows an increasing incidence of HCC across all

BACKGROUND Childhood bronchial asthma(BA)is a chronic inflammatory respiratory *** conditions,including zinc deficiency,can affect such allergic *** To outline the difference in serum zinc levels between asthmatic children and healthy *** A cross-sectional study was carried out at Children’s Hospital,Cairo University,investigating serum zinc levels in children with BA(n=40)and healthy children(n=21).Other markers included serum ferritin,iron,hemoglobin(Hb),and immunoglobulin E(IgE)*** t-tests and Mann-Whinny tests were used for *** Kruskal-Wallis test was applied to compare serum ferritin and IgE levels with regard to asthma ***'s rank correlation was performed to explore the relationship between serum ferritin levels and both iron and Hb levels in asthmatic *** Children with BA had higher levels of zinc,yet the difference was not significant(P=0.115).Serum ferritin and IgE levels were significantly higher in asthmatic children(P=0.006 and 0.001,respectively),yet their levels did not differ significantly by severity(P=0.623 and 0.126,respectively).There was a nonsignificant weak correlation between serum ferritin levels and both serum iron and Hb *** Serum zinc levels do not seem to differ between asthmatic children and healthy *** ferritin levels may be a marker of asthma *** IgE levels are not markers of asthma severity.

Recently,computer assisted diagnosis(CAD)model creation has become more dependent on medical picture *** is often used to identify several conditions,including brain disorders,diabetic retinopathy,and skin *** traditional CAD methods relied on textures,colours,and *** many models are issue-oriented,they need a more substantial capacity to generalize and cannot capture high-level problem domain *** deep learning(DL)models have been published,providing a practical way to develop models specifically for classifying input medical *** paper offers an intelligent beetle antenna search(IBAS-DTL)method for classifying medical images facilitated by deep transfer *** IBAS-DTL model aims to recognize and classify medical pictures into various *** order to segment medical pictures,the current IBASDTLM model first develops an entropy based weighting and first-order cumulative moment(EWFCM)***,the DenseNet-121 techniquewas used as a module for extracting *** an extreme learning machine(ELM)model is used to classify the medical photos.A wide variety of tests were carried out using a benchmark medical imaging dataset to demonstrate the IBAS-DTL model’s noteworthy *** results gained indicated the IBAS-DTL model’s superiority over its pre-existing techniques.

Direct Power Control Based on Dead-beat Function and Extended Kalman Filter for PV Systems

In this paper,a new proposal for the implementation of the well-known direct power control(DPC)technique in grid-connected photovoltaic(PV)systems is ***,the DPC is executed using a look-up table procedure based on the error between the actual and reference values of the active and reactive ***,the structure of the DPC is simple and results in a fast transient behavior of the inner current loop(injected currents).Therefore,in the current study,the DPC is reformulated using a dead-beat *** this formulation,the reference voltage vector(RVV)is obtained in theα-βreference ***,the switching states for the inverter can be obtained based on the sign of the components of the *** suggested DPC is compared with the conventional one and other switching tables,which are intended for performance ***,an extended Kalman filter(EKF)is utilized to eliminate all grid-voltage ***,the switching frequency of the proposed technique is minimized without any need for weighting factors or cost function *** overall control technique is validated using a hardware-in-the-loop(HIL)experimental set-up and compared with other schemes under different operating conditions.

Price Prediction of Seasonal Items Using Machine Learning and Statistical Methods

Price prediction of goods is a vital point of research due to how common e-commerce platforms *** are several efforts conducted to forecast the price of items using classicmachine learning algorithms and *** models can predict prices of various financial instruments,e.g.,gold,oil,cryptocurrencies,stocks,and second-hand *** these efforts,the literature has no model for predicting the prices of seasonal goods(e.g.,Christmas gifts).In this context,we framed the task of seasonal goods price prediction as a regression ***,we utilized a real online trailer dataset of Christmas gifts and then we proposed several machine learningbased models and one statistical-based model to predict the prices of these seasonal ***,we utilized a real-life dataset of Christmas gifts for the prediction ***,we proposed support vector regressor(SVR),linear regression,random forest,and ridgemodels as machine learningmodels for price ***,we proposed an autoregressive-integrated-movingaverage(ARIMA)model for the same purpose as a statistical-based ***,we evaluated the performance of the proposed models;the comparison shows that the best performing model was the random forest model,followed by the ARIMA model.

Introduction and Significance: Burn injury (BI) is a considerable health issue which is responsible for around 300,000 deaths and affecting about 11 million people every year worldwide. In Saudi Arabia, the prevalence of BIs array from 112 to 518 per 100,000 per year. The appropriate awareness of performing first aid could facilitate to improve the outcomes of burns. Purpose and Objectives: To appraise the community that acknowledges burns, first aid, and associated factors among the community population in Jazan City, Saudi Arabia. The paper aims to identify limitations to encourage additional research and persuade legislators to develop improved burn-injury care recommendations and training programs. Materials and Methods: An observational-based sample survey was conducted among the people who live in Jazan City aging 13 years or more, during April 5 to May 5, 2023. Data collection was done by a validated online self-administrated questionnaire sent randomly to community members in different parts of Jazan City via social media platforms. Collected data were coded and cleaned by an excel program, and finally exported on SPSS 26.0 software. The variables were analyzed using descriptive statistics like frequencies and percentages. Also, the Chi-square test was used to investigate the relation between different variables, with a significance value of P Results: This study included 243 participants (about 62%) among them were mostly male participants (151) having a university degree. The majority of participants 75% did not take any form of BFA training in the past. This study shows that 69.9% of the participants have inadequate awareness, despite 72% having a constructive attitude towards burn first aid. Previous burn-related first aid training was significantly associated with participants’ knowledge of BFA at a p-value less than 0.05. Conclusion: This study indicates a high frequency of Jazan population having inadequate knowledge of burn first aid despite the high
