Design Optimization for Generating a High Static Magnetic Field

This paper details the creation of a device capable of generating a powerful and consistent static magnetic field. This apparatus serves the purpose of quantifying the magnetostrictive strain found in materials like annealed cobalt ferrite and Terfenol-D, specifically those shaped as cylindrical rods. In our investigation, the use of static magnetic fields proves most advantageous. This choice is made to mitigate the generation of eddy currents, which would inevitably occur if the magnetic field intensity were varied. The fundamental idea behind this design involves employing a C-shaped iron core constructed from low-carbon mild steel. On this core, three coils are mounted, each capable of producing one-third of the required 9000 Oersted (Oe) magnetic field strength. The test specimen is situated within the “jaws” of the C-shaped core, thus completing the magnetic circuit. To manage the heat generated by each coil, a cooling system consisting of copper tubes is employed. These tubes facilitate the flow of air to dissipate the heat. To model and predict the magnetic field strength produced by the coils, finite element analysis (FEMM) software is utilized, and the results align closely with the anticipated outcomes. This design effectively generates a robust and unchanging magnetic field measuring a stable 9000 Oe in total. Consequently, this equipment finds utility in characterizing the magnetic properties of specific materials.

The therapeutic effect of gamma-aminobutyric acid(GABA)on diabetes was spread as one of the alarming epidemics *** study aims to investigate the function of Lactobacillus brevis KLDS_(1.0727) and KLDS_(1.0373) strains as glutamic acid decarboxylase 65(GAD65)carriers capable of generating GABA by comparing in vitro free and freeze-dried models and GABA intervention in *** amplification of gad and in vitro i.e.,(growth rate,viability at different pH,bile tolerance,and survivability in simulated gastric juice)were *** vivo experiments were conducted in 7 groups of C57BL/6J *** group was injected with streptozotocin(Cont_(STZ),INSSTZ,LAC1_(STZ),LAC_(1MFDSTZ),LAC_(2STZ),LAC_(2MFDSTZ))daily except for the control(Cont).One group was injected with insulin(INSSTZ).The body weight and hyperglycemia in the blood were assessed weekly,post-euthanasia blood plasma parameters,insulin,and histological examination were *** indicated *** strains demonstrated a great tolerance to bile and simulated gastric juice in vitro(P<0.05).Cont_(STZ) had the highest average glucose level(6.84±6.46)mmol/L while INS_(STZ) expressed dramatically decreed in glucose level and displayed a significant decline in the average of weekly blood glucose(−5.74±3.08)mmol/*** lowest body weight(ContSTZ)was(19.30±0.25)*** on the blood plasma analysis,*** strains improved good cholesterol properties,liver and kidney functions,where most of these parameters fall within the average the reference range and prevent the development of symptoms of type 1 diabetes in *** recommended,*** should be commonly distributed as a postbiotic GABA in pharmaceutical and nutritional applications.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa recognized as opportunistic pathogen causes severe infections for hospitalized patients, survive in and resist many antimicrobial agents like antibiotics and disinfectants. The aim of this study is to evaluate the role of EDTA in improving the sensitivity of resistant P. aeruginosa strains to disinfectants and Na-citrate. The strains used in this study were selected in house from Tanta University hospital, Egypt and tested for the synergistic effect of EDTA with Na-citrate or disinfectant(s). The results showed a significant effect of EDTA in improving P. aeruginosa sensitivity. In conclusion, we proposed that using EDTA in combination with different sanitization compounds and antimicrobial agents especially in hospitals aiming to control the spreading of infections.

Comparison of Cardiac Output and Hemodynamic Responses of Intubation among Different Videolaryngoscopies in Normotensive and Hypertensive Patients

Tracheal intubation with Macintosh laryngoscope（MAC） might result in severe cardiovascular complications. The results of conducted studies investigating the effects of videolaryngoscopies on hemodynamic response of tracheal intubation are conflicting. We know little about the effects of videolaryngoscopies on cardiac output changes during tracheal intubation. We compared cardiac output（COP） and hemodynamic responses in normal blood pressure（n=60） and hypertensive patients（n=60） among 3 intubation devices： the MAC, the UE videolaryngoscopy ？（UE）, and the UE video intubation stylet ？（VS）. Cardiac index（CI）, stroke volume index（SVI）, heart rate（HR）, systolic blood pressure（SBP） and diastolic blood pressure（DBP） were recorded using Lidco Rapid V2？ preinduction, preintubation, and every minute for the first 5 min after intubation. We assessed oropharyngeal and laryngeal structures injury as well. Intubation time was significantly shorter than MAC groups（P〈0.001） only in UE group of normotensive and hypertensive patients. In normotensive patients, there were no significant differences in any of COP variables or hemodynamic variables among the three devices. In hypertensive patients, SBP and DBP in the MAC group were significantly higher（P〈0.05 or 〈0.01） than the UE and VS groups at 1, 2 and 3 min after intubation, but there were no significant differences in CI, SVI and HR among the three devices. There was no significant difference in oropharyngeal and laryngeal structures injury among all groups. It was concluded that both the UE and VS attenuate only the hemodynamic response to intubation as compared with the MAC in hypertensive patients, but not in normotensive patients.

在中中北方,如果没有合适加热设备的沼气装置往往无法实现全年连续产气,尤其是在冬季,没有加热设备的沼气装置将不能稳定,高效产气。此外,沼气装置的加热设备还必须便宜、可靠、对环境无害、能产生较高温度以及高效,使用可再生能源作为沼气装置的外加热源可以满足上述条件,这正是本文研究的内容。咸阳地区直射及散射的太阳辐射量显示,在该地区可以使用太阳能加热沼气装置以提高其发酵温度。沼气装置内外温度的关系是决定加热设备设计的一个重要的因素,根据第二章所述,沼气装置内部的温度对沼气产量影响很大,当装置内温度下降时,沼气产量也下降。在第四章中,使用energy plus这一能量模拟软件结合气象资料对沼气装置的加热进行了8760小时的模拟。第四章分为两部分,第一部分是对两个位于地上的沼气装置的模拟,其中一个沼气装置有加热设备而另一个没有。第四章的第二部分是对于两个位于地下的沼气装置的模拟,一个使用温室结合太阳能的加热装置,另一个没有加热装置。结果表明,使用温室结合太阳能加热的效果好于其他三个,但是这一加热系统并不能达到最理想的温度,所以我们改进了这一装置,使用聚光型太阳能进行加热。与使用两个真空管相比,使用一个放置于抛物面焦线上的真空管的聚光型太阳能效率较低,这主要是因为太阳高度角的变化较大,所以正如第三章所述的那样,使用两个真空管能够产生更多的热量。在第五章中,一个位于地下的沼气装置被作为研究主体,该沼气装置体积为100 m3,位于陕陕省润镇中学校园内。该装置使用人粪尿作为发酵原料,并且每日进料。润镇地区一月份平均-1.6 oC,最低气温-15 oC,该地区平均太阳辐射量为4.5 kwh/m2。本研究的目的就是研究使用聚光型太阳能增进沼气生产的可行性。润镇中学使用的系统包括温室以及聚光型太阳能加热装置,两者结合使得沼气装置达到合适的温度。聚光型太阳能用来加热沼气装置及教室。该使用聚光型太阳能的加热装置可以保证全年沼气生产正常。当气温突然下降,控制单元将使得外加热源开始工作,补充反应装置所需的热量,以保证正常的温度。在冬季,聚光型太阳能系统使得沼气产量增加到每天12 m3,所产沼气输送到学校厨房用作炊事之用。润镇中学聚光型太阳能总的效益为16104元,为60间教室供暖,并且减少CO2排放788.950 1075.830吨。使用温室以及聚光型太阳能加热是十分合适的加热方式,故推荐利用太阳能加热促进沼气生产。此外,温室内部的剩余空间可以用来种植。未来的加热系统将使用聚光型太阳能以及双面温室,新的设计将使得沼气装置内部温度以及沼气产量更高。

Modeling and Simulation of Laser Assisted Turning of Hard Steels

This research work is focused on simulation of laser assisted turning as a new solution for machining of hard steels. A transient, three-dimensional model was developed to predict the temperature distribution of a rotated cylindrical steel workpiece subjected to a localized heating using a moving Gaussian laser beam. In this regard, a User-Defined Function was created to overcome the problem of a moving Gaussian heat source’ definition. This User-Defined Function was compiled into a finite volume software package (Fluent), where three-dimensional single precision solver was used for analysis. Based on this model, simulation of the surface temperature of 32 mm diameter workpiece of AISI51 50H steel was performed as a function of time at a specific distance behind the laser beam spot, which is corresponding to 30° angle from the laser beam. The simulation results were compared with other published data of the same steel type where a close agreement was obtained. The verified model was used for simulation of laser assisted turning of 20 mm diameter workpiece of AISI D2 tool steel. The cutting depth, behind the laser beam, was set at a distance corresponding to 60° angle from the laser beam for having sufficient access for handling both laser head and cutting tool. This cutting depth was studied as a function of different lasers and machining parameters. The results indicated that the optimum parameters for successful laser-assisted turning process of the concerned steels are 800 W laser power, 5 mm laser beam spot diameter, 20 sec preheating time, 0.8 mm/sec laser scanning speed, 300 rpm rotational speed and 0.8 mm/sec feed rate. These parameters ensure easy/successful cutting of 1 mm depth in one pass without deteriorating the properties of the remaining bulk material. It can be deduced that the developed model might provide a useful tool for online process control of different steel types regardless of their physical properties and geometries.

Urinary Continence after Orthotopic Detubularized Ileocaecal Pouch Versus Ileal Neobladder:Does it Differ?

Objective:To compare both techniques of detubularized ileocaecal and ileal neobladder post radical cystectomy with regards to functional results in the form of continence(day and night)with the use of urodynamics(for assessment of voiding volume and pouch capacity).Methods:This is a prospective randomized clinical trial that was done at the National Cancer Institute,Cairo University from August 2016 and January ***-two patients presented with muscle invasive urinary bladder cancer and no history of urinary incontinence or urethral stricture were included in this *** patients underwent preoperative cystoscopic *** cystectomy was done,and patients were divided into two groups according to the type of *** A included 31 patients with orthotopoic detubularized ileal neobladder and group B included 31 patients with orthotopic detubularized ileocaecal *** studies were done to 27 patients in group A and 27 patients in group B at just 6 and 12 months ***:The mean age in group A was 59.2±8.0 while in group B was 57.8±*** each group,we compared day and night continence in a period of 3 and 6 *** in group A,day continence after 3 months was 81.5% which improved to 96.3% after 6 months postoperatively with significant P-value(0.025).Night continence after 3 months was fair in 66.7%,unsatisfactory in 33.3% and 0% for good state which improved to 70% for fair state,18% unsatisfactory and 11% for good state after 6 months with significant P-value(0.035)while in group B,day continence after 3 months and 6 months postoperatively was 100% and night continence after 3 months was good in 0.0%,fair in 78.6% and unsatisfactory in 21.4% which improved to 10.7% for good state,85.7% for fair state and 3.6% for unsatisfactory after 6 months with significant P-value(0.005).Conclusion:There are no significant differences between detubularized ileocaecal and ileal neobladder in relation to contin

Transabdominal Pre-Peritoneal Mesh for Inguinal Hernia Repair with External Fixation versus Mesh Stapling

Background: It is unknown whether stapling the mesh affects recurrence rate, incidence of neuralgia, and port-site hernia. We chose to fix it to the exterior reducing port size, cost and pain, at the same comparing this with traditional mesh stapling. Methods: We conducted a prospective trial for laparoscopic TAPP inguinal hernia repair on 120 patients in which we fixed the mesh to the anterior abdominal wall using either two prolene threads that passed to the exterior and tied in place or traditional mesh stapling. Results: The operative time is ranged from 35 to 70 minutes for external fixation, 30 to 60 minutes for mesh stapling, and 4 to 51 months for follow-up, and no recurrence occurred in both groups during the procedure. Two cases with post TAPP pain in mesh stapling patients are discussed with reduction of the cost and port size in external fixation patients. Conclusion: It is not necessary to secure the mesh during laparoscopic TAPP inguinal hernia repair from the interior and it is fixed only to the exterior allowing a reduction in size of the ports and considerable reduction in cost with elimination of TAPP associated post operative pain.

Effect of laser assisted hatching on outcome of assisted reproductive technology

Objective: To determine whether laser-assisted hatching can improve clinical outcome of assisted reproductive techniques in both unselected patients and patients with advanced female age, with recurrent implantation failure, or who are using frozen-thawed embryos. Study design: Prospective randomized study. Patients and methods: 179 consecutive women scheduled for intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) were randomised to either laser assisted hatching (LAH) or non LAH group. Patients were divided into 94 test and 85 control groups. On the day of embryo transfer, the zona pellucida of the selected embryos in the test group was thinned by using an infrared optical laser system, whereas in the control group they were left intact. Clinical pregnancy rates (CPR) and implantation rates (IR) were estimated. Result(s): Patients that underwent LAH (n = 94) had CPR, and IR of 35.1% and 50%, respectively. Patients that did not undergo LAH (n = 85) had lower CPR (28.2%, P = 0.324) and IR (33%, P = 230), with no statistically significant difference P Conclusion: The current study suggested that there is no need for the routine use of laser assisted hatching. Effect of some biological factors on the chitin yield of two crustacean species inhabiting the Egyptian waters

Objective: To investigate the chitin yield of two commercial crustacean species that are exploited in the Suez Canal region, the Red Sea crab Charybdis natator (C. natator) and the Mediterranean mantis shrimp Erugosquilla massavensis (E. massavensis), and to assess the effect of some biological factors such as sex, size and maturity stages of females' ovaries on this yield. Methods: A total of 64 specimens of crabs were collected from the Red Sea and 1377 mantis shrimps were collected from the Mediterranean Sea. Chitin was obtained after the de-proteinization, de-mineralization and de-colorization of 5 g oven dried exoskeletons and values were expressed as g/5 g and percentages. Results: Chitin yield was significantly higher in E. massavensis than C. natator (22.1%, 14.22%, respectively). No significant difference in the yield was recorded between males and females of C. natator (12.9%, 14.9%, respectively), while the yield in E. massavensis males was significantly higher than females (25.3%, 21.2%, respectively). Significant variations in the chitin yield were observed between the different sizes of E. massavensis with the maximum being from the individuals falling in the size range 90–130 mm body length. The yield was at its lowest in the immature stage of C. natator females' ovaries (9.29%). However, the values increased and remained constant for the remaining stages (≥ 18%). Conclusions: The study recommends the use of the mantis shrimp for the production of chitin on commercial scale particularly medium sized males.
