Piliostigma thonningii (Fabaceae) is a versatile medicinal plant used as a traditional remedy,especially in African *** the present study,ethyl acetate,methanolic and water extracts of different parts of (fruits,leaves,stem barks) *** were evaluated for their bioactive contents,enzyme inhibitory,antioxidant and antimicrobial *** potentials were also displayed in various methods like phosphomolybdenum assay (0.79–5.94 mmol tE/g),radical scavenging assays (DPPH:20.39–471.28 mg tE/g;ABtS:42.43–654.14 mg tE/g);reducing assays (CUPRAC:102.98–1207.42 mg tE/g;FRAP:45.30–656.25 mg tE/g) and metal chelating activity (2.55–22.32 mg EDtAE/g).In particular,the methanolic and water extracts showed better antioxidant *** for a few,the extracts were also found to act as inhibitors of enzymes such as acetylcholinesterase (2.35–5.35 mg GALAE/g),butyrylcholinesterase (0.83–13.80 mg GALAE/g),tyrosinase (4.03–143.86 mg KAE/g),amylase (0.21–1.39 mmol ACAE/g) and glucosidase (3.52–7.13 mmol ACAE/g).Additionally,all the tested extracts possessed significant antibacterial (minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration:0.11–0.61 mg/ml) and antifungal (MIC and minimum fungicidal concentration:0.04–0.61 mg/ml) ***,the data garnered from the present study provides a bright scope for the advanced investigation on this particular plant possessing pharmacologically active traits.

Metal complex, bis[(2,2’)-dimethyl 2,2’-(1,10-phenanthrline-2,9-diyl)bis(methan-1-yl-1-ylidene)-bis(hydrazinecarrbo dithioate)copper(I)], was synthesized from the reaction of Schiff base, (2,2’)-dimethyl 2,2’-(1,10-phenanthroline-2,9-diyl)bis(methan-1-yl-1-ylidene)-bis(hydrazinecarbo dithioate) and CuCl2 at reflux condition in methanol. the copper centers of the complex appear to be reduced. this probably was facilitated by in situ oxidative formation of disulfide bond at the uncomplexed ligand moieties. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals the distorted tetrahedral geometry around the copper centers. this compound crystallizes in the triclinic space group, P-1 with crystallographic parameters: a = 10.006(3) ?, b = 13.272(3) ?, c = 22.123(6) ?, α = 85.656(6)°, β = 81.656(6)°, γ = 73.097(5)°, μ = 1.223 mm-1 , V = 2779.5(13) ?3, Z = 2, Dc = 1.437 Mg/m3, t = 293 (2) K.

Repeated Cross-Sectional Survey of Knowledge and Attitudes to Colorectal Cancer Screening in Lebanon

the continuous awareness campaigns about Colorectal Cancer (CRC) directed towards the Lebanese population in order to foster preventive medicine are on the rise. the impact has been positive and reported in previous research, although the number of victims is still high. this paper aims to perform a recent cross-sectional study of Lebanese residents’ CRC awareness by comparing the findings of two studies carried out in the years 2016 and 2018. the samples of the current study include 1140 (2016) and 993 (2018) participants who completed a simple structured questionnaire directed to assess their knowledge of colon cancer and the behavioral intentions of obtaining CRC screening. Upon comparing results, the percentage of those who know about CRC has increased significantly from 40.4% in 2016 to 78.7% in 2018, the proportion of respondents who believed that family history is the major risk factor for CRC did increase significantly from 47.7% in 2016 to 90.8% in 2018. Likewise, the proportions of respondents who believed that overweight, age, and stress are among the major risk factors for CRC increased from 26.9%, 26.7% and 11.3% in 2016 to 86.2%, 52.1% and 21.51% in 2018, respectively. On the other hand, the proportions for the risk factors related to alcohol and smoking have dropped from 37.7% and 37.3% to 27.4% and 24.2%, respectively. Moreover, the most important source of information for CRC was friends (18.4% in 2016 versus 73.8% in 2018), followed by family (18.7% in 2016 versus 56.7% in 2018), and then physicians (18.9% in 2016 and 40.2% in 2018). In fact, the efforts of the non-governmental organization (NGO) SAID (118 different major activities in the span of 3 years) did make a significant difference in what relates to CRC awareness among the Lebanese population. these findings are used to encourage and support other NGOs to adopt targeted new awareness campaigns which have proven successful, and to present evidence based on facts to government officials in t

the Multiple Sequence Alignment problem is considered to be an NP-Hard problem, requiring initially a specific encoding schema and design, as for any other of its siblings, to implement and run any of the main categories of heuristic. this paper intends to discuss our proposed generic implementation of the tabu Search algorithm, a heuristic procedure proposed by Fred Glover to solve discrete combinatorial optimization problems. In this research, we try to coordinate and synchronize different designs/implementations discussed in many literatures, with some of the references mentioned in this paper. the basic idea is to avoid that the search for best solutions stops when a local optimum is found, by maintaining a list of non-acceptable or forbidden (taboo) solutions/costs, called tabu list or Short-term Memory (StM). In our algorithm, we attempt to add some executions tracing functionalities in order to help later analysis for initial parameters tuning. On the other hand, we propose to include the concept of a list called Long-term Memory (LtM), so that some of the best solutions found so far can be saved, for search diversification.

L80-1油井套管钢在模拟井下环境中的腐蚀行为

近年来,部分中东油田含水率持续增加,L80-l油井套管在CO2-H2S-Cl^-体系中的腐蚀风险增大。为此,利用腐蚀挂片与高温高压电化学测量装置研究了模拟井下环境中不同含水率、CO2-分压、Cl^-含量对L80-1套管钢腐蚀的影响和电化学腐蚀机理。结果表明:在85℃ 1000 mg/L H2S和60 r/min的条件下,L80-1钢的腐蚀速率随着含水率和CO?分压的增加而增加,在含水率为30%~40%时,由于油水混合状态发生突变,导致腐蚀速率陡增。而在高浓度Cl^-条件下,腐蚀速率随着Ct浓度的增加而下降。在CO2-H2S-Cl^-腐蚀体系中,L80-1表面腐蚀产物呈现复杂的微观形态,成分分布不均匀,均匀腐蚀产物主要为碳酸盐,局部腐蚀产物以FeS为主。L80-1钢在研究环境中的电化学腐蚀机理为活化极化控制,因此升高温度会加剧腐蚀。总体而言,在高盐度CO2-H2S-Cl^-腐蚀环境中,含水率对于L80-1钢的腐蚀影响最为严重,其次是CO2分压,H2S的存在并没有改变其他腐蚀因素对L80-1钢的腐蚀影响规律。

Role of Sulforaphane on Histone Deacetylase Activity in Solid Ehrlich Carcinoma

Histone acylation is one in every of the posttranslational modification that incorporates a role within the regulation of sequence expression. this study was aimed to ameliorate neoplasm cell model Solid Ehrlich malignant neoplastic disease with sulforaphane extracted from cabbage alone and together with immune suppressant drug (MtX) by study the activity of simple protein deacetylase accelerator (HDAC). In this study, sulforaphane was extracted from cabbage leaves and evaluated victimization GC-MS and ultraviolet illumination spectrophotometry. 60 white male rats were divided into six equal groups. Group I: management ordinarily. the remaining mice were subjected to Ehrlich neoplasm cells. Group II: tumor-bearing group. Group III: immune suppressant drug “MtX” treated group. Group IV, V treated with SFN before and when paul Ehrlich cells implantation group VI (Methotrexate and sulforaphane-treated group). this result showed that sulforaphane was extracted from cabbage (Brassica oleracea) in concentration of 833 μg/g leave. HDAC was attenuated when treatment with sulforaphane after treatment with methotrexate or sulforaphane alone. the desoxyribonucleic acid injury was attenuated in neoplasm tissue of tumor-bearing mice when treatment with immune suppressant drug and hyperbolic considerably in tumor tissue of tumor-bearing mice treated with sulforaphane before and after carcinogenesis and together with methotrexate treatment after carcinogenesis.

Performance assessment and identify to improve for survive need to organize framework that is to be able to analysis and evaluate its environment conditions continuously. One of these tools for assessment is EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management) model that on the one hand to assess today"s performance and situation and identify area to improve and on the other hand the map and guide of act of organizations for pay attention to effective factors, finding strong points and improve areas. the study was planned to ascertain effect of implementation of EFQM excellence model. In present research the sample size consists of 185 employees (74 women and 111 men) were selected at random from employee of Jordan Customs. the t-test was used to analyze the data. the results of present study were illustrated that the rate of change in the present organization after implementation EFQM model cause to developed organization in dimensions of excellence model (leadership, policy and strategy, human resource, resources, processes, customer, results, employee results, leadership results, performance results) (p < 0.01).

the Effect of Stearic Acid on Expanded Organoclay and Rheometric Properties of Natural Rubber/Expanded Organoclay Nanocomposites

the effect of stearic acid on expanded organoclay and rheometric properties of natural rubber (NR)/expanded organoclay (OCSA) was studied. the expanded organoclay was prepared by melting of stearic acid (SA) in an oven at 100 C for 1 h. NR/expanded organoclay nanocomposites were prepared by melt intercalation technique using a laboratory open mill followed by compression molding. the characterizations were carried out by means of X-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and moving die rheometer. the results showed that the stearic acid intercalated in the gallery of organoclay (OC) Cloisite 20A, so the d-spacing of organoclay increased with increasing of stearic acid concentration. the rheometric properties showed that the increasing concentration of stearic acid in NR compound improved the resistance to reversion but contrary for NR/OCSA compounds. the curing time of NR filled expanded organoclay compounds were faster than NR compounds. the increasing of stearic acid in rubber compounds and NR/expanded organoclay compounds increased the curing time (t 90 ) of compounds. the increasing concentration of stearic acid reduced the size of aggeragate especially for ratio OC: SA = 1:1 which OCSA dispersed uniformly in NR matrix.

Parotid gland adenocarcinoma is commonly a tumor of low malignancy and low incidence worldwide. the reported case shows the rapid progression of this tumor in an elderly patient and infrequent effects, such as a presentation of facial edema not commonly described in the medical literature. Patient was admitted to hospital in November 2019 with secretion and partial hearing loss in the right ear and infiltrative and stone lesion with initial skin ulceration in the right cervical region. After 42 days, he returned and was admitted to the intensive care unit with significant swelling of the face, hardened and hyperemic neck, difficulty in speech and inability to open the eye. He presented changes in the mobility of the speech and hearing organs, reduced laryngeal mobility, vocal changes, speech with altered articulation and severe oropharyngeal dysphagia with risk of bronchoaspiration. the patient was diagnosed in September 2019 with a parotid tumor (salivary gland adenocarcinoma t4). the medical team requested computed tomography, computed tomography angiography of the chest and cervical vessels and computed tomography of the neck, in addition to evaluation by the head and neck surgery service and general surgery. After analyzing the results, the medical team suggested a hypothesis of tumor invasion that could result in obstruction of local lymphatic drainage, something unusual in the evolution of this type of tumor. In addition, it was not possible to adhere to radiotherapy treatment due to the extent of the lesion and there was also no confirmation of metastases. the reported case shows us that parotid gland adenocarcinoma, when diagnosed in an advanced stage, can limit the approach to treatment. It was chosen in agreement with the family to proceed with palliative care without invasive measures. Palliative care may be the best option for cases like this, bringing some comfort to the patient and his family.
