Timing and Spectral Analysis of the Black Hole X-Ray Binary MAXI J1803-298 with Insight-HXMT Data

We present a comprehensive analysis of the 2021 outburst of MAXI J1803–298 utilizing observations of the Insight-Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope(Insight-HXMT)spanning from the low hard state to the high soft *** the Insight-HXMT data set,compared to the previous work,we identify a more prolonged presence of typeC quasi-periodic oscillations(QPOs)with centroid frequencies ranging from~0.16 to 6.3 Hz,which present correlations with the hardness ratio and the photon index of the Comptonized *** QPO frequencies less than~2 Hz,the QPO phase lags are hard(photons of 10–19 keV arrive later than those of 1–4 keV),while at higher frequencies,the lags become soft at and above~4 ***,the spectra in all Insight-HXMT observations consist of a multi-color blackbody component and a Comptonized component,as commonly observed in classical black hole X-ray *** analyze state transitions and the evolution of accretion geometry in this *** fitted inner disk radius increases abnormally during the low hard state,hypothesized to result from the corona condensing onto the inner ***,two significant drops in flux are observed during the soft intermediate state,maybe implying changes in the corona/jet and the disk,respectively.

External quality control and training of semen analysis in the Netherlands:starting point for further reduction of outcome variability

Semen analysis is characterized by high levels of intra-and inter-laboratory variability,due to a low level of standardization,high subjectivity of the assessments,and problems with automated *** improve consistency of laboratory results,quality control and training of technicians are important *** goals of this study are to evaluate the results of an external quality control(EQC)program and standardized training by ESHRE Basic Semen Analysis Courses(BSAC)on the variability in manual assessments of semen *** performed retrospective analyses of(1)the interlaboratory variability in the Dutch EQC program and(2)the interobserver variability in BSACs for concentration,motility,and morphology *** data showed that the interlaboratory coefficient of variation(CV)for concentration assessment decreased(range from 24.0%–97.5%to 12.7%–20.9%)but not for morphology and motility *** variability was lower if improved Neubauer hemocytometers were *** assessment showed highest CVs(up to 375.0%),with many outliers in the period of 2007–*** BSAC,a significant reduction of interobserver variability could be established for all parameters(P<0.05).The absence of an effect in the EQC program for motility and morphology might be explained by respectively the facts that motility assessment was introduced relatively late in the EQC program(since 2013)and that criteria for morphology assessment changed in *** results might have been influenced by the pretraining level of participants and the influence of external *** EQC and training show positive effects on reducing *** willingness by laboratories to change their methods toward standards may lead to further improvements.

Performance of microhaematuria and proteinuria as measured by urine reagent strips in estimating intensity and prevalence of Schistosoma haematobium infection in Nigeria

Objective:To assess if microhaematuria and proleinuria as measured by reagent strips could estimate intensity of Schistosoma haematobium(***) infection in endemic areas and evaluate their screening performance among children in Benue State,***:A lolal of 1124 urine samples were collected,screened for microhaematuria and proteinuria using reagent strips(Combi 9) and results were compared to filtration technique,the gold standard ***:A significant correlation was ohserved between microhaematuria(rho= 0.66. P<0.01).proteinuria(rho = 0.71.P<0.01) and intensity *** *** had sensitivity of 95.7%and specificity of 67.2%.while microhaematuria had sensitivity of 64.8%and specificity of 89.6%.The proportion of false positive diagnoses was higher in proleinuria(19.2%) than microliaematuria(6.0%).Conclusios:The findings suggest that use of urine reagent strips could potentially estimate intensity *** infection and their performance to screen urinary schistosomiasis agreed with previous observations.

Molecular characterization of sandflies and Leishmania detection in main vector of zoonotic cutaneous leishmaniasis in Abarkouh district of Yazd province,Iran

Ohjective:To assess molecular characterization,distribution,seasonal activities of sandfly species and Leishmania parasites infecting them for this zoonotic cutaneous leishmaniasis ***:The collections were carried out in 2009-2011 using CDC traps,Sticky Papers and manual aspirator in and around the villages in Abarkouh *** sandflies were characterized by PCR amplification and sequencing of fragments of their mitochondrial cytochrome b *** parasite infections within sandflies were performed by targeting Cyt b,ITS-rDNA,k-DNA and microsatellite ***:The PCR assays detected only Leishmania major(***).All infections(30)were found in the abundant and widespread vector Phlebolomus papalasi(***).Small numbers of other sandfly species were also screened for infections,but none was *** sinloni and *** were the predominant members in all locations of this district and in all habitats throughout the trapping *** five other sandfly species were found,namely Phlebolomus ansari,Phlebotomus caucasicus,Phlebotomus sergenti,Sergentomyia dentata and Sergentomyia ***:In the current survey,the only infections detected are of *** in females of ***(30 out of190).The rates of infection of *** by *** are not significantly different in compare with other locations in Iran with no diversity of parasite *** cutaneous leishmaniasis may have emerged only recently in Abarkouh district,and the reason may well be the instability of the transmission cycles there.

Biliary microlithiasis,sludge,crystals, microcrystallization,and usefulness of assessment of nucleation time

BACKGROUND:The process of microcrystallization,its sequel and the assessment of nucleation time is *** systematic review aimed to highlight the importance of biliary microlithiasis,sludge,and crystals,and their association with gallstones,unexplained biliary pain,idiopathic pancreatitis, and sphincter of Oddi *** SOURCES:Three reviewers performed a literature search of the PubMed *** words used were'biliary microlithiasis','biliary sludge','bile crystals','cholesterol crystallisation','bile microscopy','microcrystal formation of bile','cholesterol monohydrate crystals','nucleation time of cholesterol','gallstone formation','sphincter of Oddi dysfunction'and'idiopathic pancreatitis'.Additional articles were sourced from references within the studies from the PubMed ***:We found that biliary microcrystals account for almost all patients with gallstone disease,7%to 79%with idiopathic pancreatitis,83%with unexplained biliary pain, and 25%to 60%with altered biliary and pancreatic sphincter ***,the detection of biliary microcrystals in gallstone disease has a sensitivity ranging from 55%to 87%and a specificity of 100%.In idiopathic pancreatitis,the presence of microcrystals ranges from 47%to 90%.A nucleation time less than 10 days in hepatic bile or ultra-filtered gallbladder bile has a specificity of 100%for cholesterol gallstone ***:Biliary crystals are associated with gallstone disease,idiopathic pancreatitis,sphincter of Oddi dysfunction, unexplained biliary pain,and post-cholecystectomy biliary *** of cholesterol super-saturation,crystallisation, and gallstone formation have been described with *** microscopy is a useful method to detect microcrystals and the assessment of nucleation time is a good method of predicting the risk of cholesterol crystallisation.
